My husband and I were in New York for 10 days. Great amount of time for a first trip. The apartment we stayed in was perfect, big for two people but perfect for 4 people. Very spacious which is very rare in New York. We had everything at our door step, chemist around the corner, supermarket 2 blocks away, bottle-o across the road and great Chinese take out (needed for those longs days on your feet). Subway 4 blocks away if needed but we seemed to walk everywhere. The apartment was very clean and the owners were fantastic. Location is great also. Planning on staying there again in 2013.

Recommended for:Tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Relaxing time in a lovely home

Our family had a wonderful time. The property commands a spectacular view of the lake, is well-appointed,and tastefully decorated. The managers of the property are amazingly helpful, extremely pleasant, and accommodating. It was everything we hoped for and much more.

Great Weekend Getaway

I spent New Years Eve Weekend at this lakehouse and it was a great time. This was my third time staying at this house. The house is extremely clean. It is very spacious and have large spaces to hang out. In the summer, the outdoor area is amazing. There is a great sunroom and deck in addition to a patio, a yard and a dock on the lake. All of this makes it hard not to have a great time!

After staying at this home for an extended weekend, I can personally say that this house is nothing but extraordinary. The house in person is even better than described and in the pictures. It is located on a secluded cove of the lake, which means that the waters are much calmer and more suitable for watersports and enjoyable boating. This house exceeded my expectations, the beautiful and spacious rooms, to the koi pond outside, and even a dock that I kept my boat at, so I didnt have to rent a space at the marina for the weekend. We were blown away by the views from the conservatory, where we ate dinner every night, you really have to see for yourself just how special this house really is! I highly reccomend this house to anyone! Robert and Yang are extremely nice landlords and I look forward to renting again from them next year. The neighbors knew we were obvioulsy new in town and were extremely helpful in any way they could (Navigating us to Pathmark) Thank you Robert and Yang for letting us stay at your very special house, we look foward to staying again!

Ruined vacation

After a difficult year 4 people finally got a chance to take a week off and take their kids to spend time “on the lake”. We booked this place early based on the pictures and description. We were proud that we were able to plan ahead and book such a great place. When we arrived, our excitement disappeared at once. A promised “lake-front” house turned out to be “swamp-front” The water around the dock was all green and smelly, making it very unpleasant to spend time outside. When we called the owners, they said “the lake was not cleaned on time and we can’t control these things” Agreed, but the owners were supposed to correctly represent the house conditions and they failed to do so. We did not have a plan B for vacation so we decided to stay till the end. When we left, we decided not to rent ever again.

Owner response:1.Guests did not contact us until their 5th day of stay (2 days left of their week), after the July 4th holiday weekend, we offer an option to leave and refund the money, and they decided to stay through the end of the contract. We still refunded one day of stay for their inconvenience even when they stayed till the end of contract date. 2. Moreover, the unusual climate (90-100 degree of heat this July with no rain) resulted in a significant growth of vegetation on the lake. The Lake Hopatcong authority, which has their own schedule for removal of lake vegetation was active but occurred the same day they left. Lake front owners do not have any control of lake authories harvesting. There are 3 state beaches within 15 minutes of our house which accommodates people for swimming and other recreation. 3. Other people in the party told our neighbors that they had a pleasant stay, wonderful time and thank them for the hospitality as they left our house.

My family and my sister's family stayed for a week and had a wonderful time. The house was very spacious and the view from the conservatory was gorgeous. Robert and Yang were most accommodating hosts. The neighbors across the street were also very helpful and made themselves available if we had any questions. It was very accessible to I-80 which made going into NYC very easy. Would definitely stay here again.

We are highly recommending renting this lake house. We’ve rented it for the long weekend and very satisfied. The house is beautiful, has all the amenities, the lake view is gorgeous.
