Our group thoroughly enjoyed the lakehouse! Lots of space - 4 comfy bedrooms, lots of seating. 8 adults (4 couples) fit comfortably in this house all week. Kitchen was great for our eat-in meals - used the grill twice. House was well stocked with linens, towels, kitchen supplies, etc. Although I was aware of this - it needs noted - you cannot swim at or anywhere around the lakehouse. The water off the dock is green/slimy/gross. You must travel by car to find somewhere to swim. Plenty of restaurants around the lake ranging from dives (I say that in a positive way) to nice (pricy). Several marina's will rent pontoon boats & jet skis - our group enjoyed our day on the lake in a pontoon boat. A couple golf courses in the area in addition to the expensive ones over by Vernon, NJ. Mohawk Lake was fun - close to the lakehouse - waterpark with 7 slides and beach area - fee to enter. Close to NYC - we rode the NJ Transit train in to the city twice and did all the NYC attractions. Jersey City, NJ is a 45 minute drive from the lakehouse - directly across the Hudson River looking at NYC - nice eateries on the waterfront. Plenty to do for adults. Grocery store & liquor store10 minutes away. (Why can't you buy beer or wine in a grocery store in NJ?????) Yang was great to work with - answered all my emails and questions. I would recommend this property to friends looking for a relaxing week - the house met our expectations.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We have celebrated a big birthday of my mother-in-law over a weekend in mid-June 2012 at this wonderful house. The view is so good that we definitely want to come back. We rented the big pontoon boat for 2 days and took relaxing lake trips in between grilling filet mignon and other steaks on the barbecue grill. We had waves of family visits and everybody enjoyed themselves. We had kids as young as 1 year old and we were able to block them in on the top deck by moving a bench, so that they would not escape. This beats Lake George accomodations by an order of magnitude! So if you are wondering whether to go to Lake Hopatcong and stay at this house, or rent a house at Lake George, you will not get anything close to this there.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I had the pleasure at staying at this beautiful lake house this past June and it was nothing less than perfect. The owners were amazing and accessible for any questions and the house was clean, had everything you needed, and I would go back many more times without question. I have rented several houses over the years on lakes in the area and this one is far and away the best one I've stayed at.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We stayed in this house for three weeks for a long family reunion. The house is spacious and nice, everything in working condition, linens available, gorgeous sunroom etc. Could have been cleaned better though, just s note to the cleaning lady. A lot of personal things of the owners and even food left in the fridge so it's not like one of those empty houses left just for you. Unfortunately, the outside of the house facing the lake is unkempt and not suitable for having a party or picnic - tables and chairs outside were quite dirty. But we enjoyed the sunroom well enough. The water is on the septic system so you have to be careful that no water leaks from toilet etc. Two major things: 1- you CAN'T swim in the lake from the dock! It's all growth and too shallow and muddy. To be able to swim in the lake you either have to go to the Lake Hopatcong beach (fee for entrance) which is 20 min away by car or rent a pontoon boat which is $300 per day at the local Marina, and swim from the boat, that's what we did. We also rented a row-boat from the neighbor for fishing and it was much cheaper than renting at the Marina. Fishing was great. However, if you want to swim from the dock - forget the idea. Second main disanvantage - if you have a baby, there is no place to go in the neighborhood for a walk with a stroller. It's a quiet dead end street and that's it, a busy road then. So to go for a long walk which you sometimes need with a baby we had to drive somewhere. There are a lot of hiking places in the area (Mahlon Dickerson Reservation, Mount Hope Park etc) but you have to drive there. NO place to just stroll with a stroller. Otherwise, a great house.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

My husband and I were in New York for 10 days. Great amount of time for a first trip. The apartment we stayed in was perfect, big for two people but perfect for 4 people. Very spacious which is very rare in New York. We had everything at our door step, chemist around the corner, supermarket 2 blocks away, bottle-o across the road and great Chinese take out (needed for those longs days on your feet). Subway 4 blocks away if needed but we seemed to walk everywhere. The apartment was very clean and the owners were fantastic. Location is great also. Planning on staying there again in 2013.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car.

Our family had a wonderful time. The property commands a spectacular view of the lake, is well-appointed,and tastefully decorated. The managers of the property are amazingly helpful, extremely pleasant, and accommodating. It was everything we hoped for and much more.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

I spent New Years Eve Weekend at this lakehouse and it was a great time. This was my third time staying at this house. The house is extremely clean. It is very spacious and have large spaces to hang out. In the summer, the outdoor area is amazing. There is a great sunroom and deck in addition to a patio, a yard and a dock on the lake. All of this makes it hard not to have a great time!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

After staying at this home for an extended weekend, I can personally say that this house is nothing but extraordinary. The house in person is even better than described and in the pictures. It is located on a secluded cove of the lake, which means that the waters are much calmer and more suitable for watersports and enjoyable boating. This house exceeded my expectations, the beautiful and spacious rooms, to the koi pond outside, and even a dock that I kept my boat at, so I didnt have to rent a space at the marina for the weekend. We were blown away by the views from the conservatory, where we ate dinner every night, you really have to see for yourself just how special this house really is! I highly reccomend this house to anyone! Robert and Yang are extremely nice landlords and I look forward to renting again from them next year. The neighbors knew we were obvioulsy new in town and were extremely helpful in any way they could (Navigating us to Pathmark) Thank you Robert and Yang for letting us stay at your very special house, we look foward to staying again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family and my sister's family stayed for a week and had a wonderful time. The house was very spacious and the view from the conservatory was gorgeous. Robert and Yang were most accommodating hosts. The neighbors across the street were also very helpful and made themselves available if we had any questions. It was very accessible to I-80 which made going into NYC very easy. Would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

After a difficult year 4 people finally got a chance to take a week off and take their kids to spend time “on the lake”. We booked this place early based on the pictures and description. We were proud that we were able to plan ahead and book such a great place. When we arrived, our excitement disappeared at once. A promised “lake-front” house turned out to be “swamp-front” The water around the dock was all green and smelly, making it very unpleasant to spend time outside. When we called the owners, they said “the lake was not cleaned on time and we can’t control these things” Agreed, but the owners were supposed to correctly represent the house conditions and they failed to do so. We did not have a plan B for vacation so we decided to stay till the end. When we left, we decided not to rent ever again.Owner response: 1.Guests did not contact us until their 5th day of stay (2 days left of their week), after the July 4th holiday weekend, we offer an option to leave and refund the money, and they decided to stay through the end of the contract. We still refunded one day of stay for their inconvenience even when they stayed till the end of contract date. 2. Moreover, the unusual climate (90-100 degree of heat this July with no rain) resulted in a significant growth of vegetation on the lake. The Lake Hopatcong authority, which has their own schedule for removal of lake vegetation was active but occurred the same day they left. Lake front owners do not have any control of lake authories harvesting. There are 3 state beaches within 15 minutes of our house which accommodates people for swimming and other recreation. 3. Other people in the party told our neighbors that they had a pleasant stay, wonderful time and thank them for the hospitality as they left our house.

With our friends getting married in NJ, our family decided to rent a home in the area. The view was awesome and the home was comfortable with everything we needed. The home is easily accessible to area attractions and NY City, yet a quiet retreat to those who want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city. The owners were very friendly and helpful. New Year's Eve Weekend 2010 was the second time I had the pleasure of staying in this house and I hope it is not close to the last. A beautiful house right on the lake with all the modern comforts you could need, yet far enough away from any semblance of the hustle and bustle of city life that you can truly lay back and relax as if you were thousands of miles away. Wonderful hosts who go out of there way to make sure everything is perfect for your arrival makes a great house even better. Our group of friends has been renting vacation houses for many years now. This is by far the nicest, most elaborate and well-equipped house we've ever stayed at. It didn't feel like a rental house, more like a real home. The house is beautiful, warm, perfectly perched on the lake, with every amenity one can imagine. Nothing in the house description is exaggerated, on the contrary. The owners Robert & Yang were gracious and helpful and extremely accommodating. We look forward to returning next year.
