The setting on this 200 acre lake is idyllic, classic "up north" Minnesota. In all seasons, the log home is comfortable with forced air heating and a large, rock fireplace. Downstairs is pine-paneled throughout to sustain temperatures.
The hot tub is particuarly comfortable in the Spring/Summmer/Fall and would work beautifully in the winter if your stay is a week or more.
Within a 25 mile or less drive, there are 8 high quality golf courses, large fishing lakes where boat rental is available, and some of the best deer and game hunting (not ON our property, snowmobiling, snow shoeing and game hunting areas of the midwest.
Restaurant options are excellent within the same radius (plus an usual "white table cloth" option a bit further away. However, the gas oven/stove is designed for those who are chefs in their own right.

Golf at 8 nearby courses, hike, play tennis, watch birds, fish with or w.o. guide; snowshoe or cross country ski in winter. Day spa 30 minutes away. (If you “luck out” and weather is crummy, you can always plant yourself in front of the fireplace and sip tea or wine …..without guilt!) Option: Spend up to 1 week in our city home in Minneapolis Lake District near art museums, renowned Guthrie Theatre, great restaurants, bike paths around 5 lakes. Rate Details (In US Dollars)
$1,850-$2,350/week; $5,250-$6,500/month. Lowest rate is for winter (NOV-MAR.)
Highest rate is for summer season (APR-OCT AND/OR groups of more than 8 (inclu
children.) We need a 90 day notice for summer months, though this next summer -
2012 - is currently being scheduled. We HAVE slept 10 and have sufficient
eating space, but cabin more comfortable for 8 or less in terms of
common space.

My family of 10 stayed at this cabin for the first time. We had never rented through VRBO before. The owner's were great to work with and answered our questions in a timely and helpful manner. They were very eager to help us have a good experience. The cabin was lovely. It was an open concept so we could all do our thing and still be in the same area! There was plenty of room for our family to stretch out and relax. The screened in porch was a great place to work on jigsaw puzzles. A couple of things different from renting a resort cabin. The owner's things were there and we didn't realize we would be moving in "on top" of their things. The lot was beautiful but totally wooded. There wasn't any place for outside games. One of the things difficult to deal with was not having an empty refrigerator and freezer. We had to be creative about putting our food items into these places. I'm not sure if the owner's realized the previous renters didn't quite leave the place clean. We cleaned the stove and a few other areas after we moved in. Our grandsons loved the bunk room!! It had plenty of space for them to sleep and play. We also enjoyed being able to bring our dog with us. He loved swimming and boating as much as we did. Having the boat and tube available to us was priceless. The kids had a lot of fun tubing and swimming. The swimming area is lovely. The lake is very clean. There was also a kayak and a canoe although we didn't use those thing. The kitchen is awesome!! Fun to work in and everything we needed was there. All in all it was a good experience to stay at this home. We are very grateful to the owner's for opening up their cabin to our family. Peace.
