Our 2BR/2BA townhouse is located in Poipu Crater. Named the "place of the gods", the Poipu Crater complex is 15 townhouses nestled in 7 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. The unit is near the top, where you can enjoy tropical and fragrant breezes throughout the unit. Poipu Crater is nestled above Poipu, with only a short walk to the beach and easy access to Old Koloa Town. The complex is away from some of the new housing developments underway, ensuring a peaceful vacation stay.
The unit received a face lift in Summer, 2009. This included all new furniture, beds, light fixtures and ceiling fans, flooring and paint (interior/exterior). The master bedroom with full bathroom and king size bed resides on the 2nd floor. The 2nd bedroom on the main floor has 2 twin beds with a 2nd TV and DVD. There is a single foldaway cot in the closet for an extra guest. There is a 2nd full bathroom on the main floor complete with washer and dryer. The large lanai has 2 sliding patio doors, one off the living room and the other off the dining room. Seating for 6 on the patio ensures you can enjoy the tropical breezes, banana trees and colorful birds while dining.
Poipu Crater has a pool and tennis courts for the exclusive use of our guests. The pool area also contains a sauna, ping pong tables and 2 gas barbeque's with tables and chairs under a covered patio for your comfort. WiFi and a small library are available in the unit, along with additional WiFi and a larger book collection down at the clubhouse.
A leisurely walk along one of the greenbelt paths will take to you to the Grand Hyatt Hotel and Shipwreck Beach, where you can visit the spa, attend a luau, or enjoy their amazing mai tai's at any of the Hyatt's outstanding restaurants. Head in the opposite direction to Poipu beach where you can swim, snorkel or bodysurf. Watch monk seals sunning themselves on the sand or enjoy a meal at Brennecke's Restaurant. Maha'ulepu Beach, one of Kauai's best, is only a short drive away (5-10 minutes). As the last accessible undeveloped coastline on the south shore of Kaua`i, Maha'ulepu is a quiet retreat. Beach towels and 4 beach chairs in fold up bags are available for your visits to Kauai's beautiful beaches.
If golf if your passion, we are just minutes away from several championship golf courses. Walk around Koloa town with its historic buildings full of great shopping and dining. Spouting Horm and the Botanical Gardens are also nearby. A must is our farmers' markets located around the island where island grown fruits and vegetables are available at a minimal cost.
There is much to do around the island. Don't forget to take a day trip to the North Shore where the famous Na Pali trailhead starts. Tunnels and Ke'e beaches should not be missed! For diving enthusiasts, Old Koloa Landing offers a great shore dive. Blue Dolphin Charters has outstanding scuba instructors (introductory and experienced divers) for dives along the Na Pali coast and to Nihau (the forbidden island). Head to Waimea Canyon for stunning views of Hawaii's Grand Canyon. And of course, sunsets and rainbows can be seen from all over the island.

Why the Owner Chose Poipu Crater
My fiance was adamant that the Crater was the best spot on the island. When he took me to see it, I agreed! I spent many vacations on Kauai and never knew it was there. Very secluded yet close to the beach, we feel we have the perfect vacation home in our dream location.

The unit is a very short distance to Poipu Beach, Brennecke's Restaurant, and the Hyatt. The complex itself has all the ammenities required for a great stay...pool, tennnis courts, sauna, barbeque grills, etc. It's a fantastic unit in a fantastic location.
Enjoy sunning, snorkeling and watching local marine life at Poipu Beach, just a short walk or drive from the unit.
Restaurants, shops and a general store ensure that all of your vacation needs are just minutes away. You can find your Starbucks fix here as well.
Enjoy beautiful sunsets and great food at Brennecke's restaurant.

Our recent stay was delightful - the only thing missing was the air conditioning; however, the unit did contain ceiling fans and one floor fan. The unit was as pictured - very nice furnishings. The owners were a deight to work with and very responsive when called or emailed. All the nearby activities and restaurants were fine - driving all over the island is the key - we visited the Na 'Aina Kai botanic garden on the north shore. It was beautiful and had a wonderful day there - highly recommended. I would recommend this property and would return myself some day in the future.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Thank you Lisa for an outstanding vacation. We loved the tranquility of the Crater, which is exactly what we needed on this vacation. The condo was stocked with everything we could imagine needing on our trip, and was in a perfect location. We loved our daily walks to the beach...what a veiw! Ashly's help in terms of local activities was invaluable. We are looking forward to our next trip to Kauai, and will definitely recommend your unit to our friends.
