We really enjoyed staying at this condo. Everything was perfect - clean and well stocked. My husband likes to cook and after being in a hotel the earlier part of our trip, he really wanted to cook. He was thrilled you had everything he needed! We enjoyed a great meal at Duke's Restaurant and even saw a whale right offshore! Everything went very smoothly, and we can't wait to come back. Thanks for a very memorable vacation!

We spent the entire Christmas and New Year's at Honua Kai and it could not have been more perfect. The condo was exactly as the description and pictures said it would be (including the view from the lanai). Everything we could have hoped for was in the condo (and this means a lot as we had friends staying in other units that barely had enough drinking glasses or plates to get them through a meal). Lots of towels and extra blankets were in the condo and there was even laundry detergent for us to use too (its all of the little things that added up to make it so perfect)! The condo owner was a delight to deal with as I sent him many messages and questions in the months leading up to the arrival and he was always happy and quick to answer. And I truly do mean that he was a delight - just so helpful! The amenities at the Resort itself were perfect. The kids enjoyed the pools, water slide, daily activities and playing on the grass while the adults enjoyed the hot tubs and happy hour. We never ate dinner at Dukes (as they raised their prices on the menu for the Holiday crowd) but had many breakfasts and happy hour apps with poolside service. The beach directly in front of the resort is rather 'rocky' but if you literally walk 100m towards the Westin, you can boogie board and swim freely in the area. We also drove to DT Fleming beach for the best waves (approx. 15 minutes from the condo)! Whalers Village was about a 20 minute brisk walk from the condo (along the boardwalk) or with small children we commonly took our car or a cab (about $10 cab ride). I can't say enough about how great this condo was for our family (2 adults and 1 child). We are already trying to plan another trip for next year!!!

My husband and I stayed in this condo and really loved the condo and the property. The unit itself was great- new appliances, air conditioning, comfortable bed and well stocked kitchen. The complex is beautiful and we had a great time in the pools, gym, ocean and Duke's Restaurant. Would definately go back!

Written Sept. 1, 2011 My family stayed in this unit for 12 days during August 2011. It is beautifully decorated, pristine, functional and very comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped, and another great perk is the washer and dryer in the unit. The location on the 8th floor and away from the elevators provides peacefulness and solitude. The view from the lanai is beautiful with a partial oceanview and overlooking the resort's private path. It is also very spacious and we enjoyed many meals there. The Honua Kai Resort is ideally located. It shares a boardwalk with all the other resorts along Kaanapali Beach, and it provides a nice 3.5 mile walk or run. Snorkeling just a little walk down by Westin is ideal, and the sand on the beach is fine and clean. The resort is brand new. It is located on the best part of Maui, in my opinion, making excursions to Black Rock, Honolua Bay, Napilli Bay, Nakalele Blowhole, Kapalua and Lahaina very accessible. Duke's Restaurant downstairs is so convenient, lively and delicious. Restaurants also highly recommended are Star Noodle, Aloha Mixed Plate (tell Cameray, the manager, I sent you), Sensei (terrific early bird special, but make reservations at least a week in advance), Kuka Lodge near Haleakala, and Da Kitchen, great local Hawaiin fare, on your way back to Kahalui Airport. Annie's is the best shaved ice in Lahaina. If you stay for a week, shop at Costco also near the airport. Must do excursions: snorkeling at Honolua Bay and Black Rock (in front of the Sheraton Hotel) where you swim with sea turtles, Haleakala, surfing with Billy McCord at Nancy Emerson's surf school (He is a master who had my three kids surfing in one lesson and tell him I sent you), Ocean Riders circumnavigation of La'nai, and a hike to Nakalele Blowhole. Working with the owner has been such a pleasure. She is responsive, prompt and provided us with all the information that we needed before we could even make a request. She is highly accomodating. I have in fact already recommended this unit to two families, and hope to vacation there again in the future.

I won't repeat the description here but just would like to confirm that the pictures and descriptions are accurate. We were struggling between the Westin and this property. Having visited the Westin during one of my morning jogs, I'm glad we chose this property/unit. This Hokulani unit was clean, new, and very comfortable. The lanai was very spacious and convenient. One of our most memorable meals was a take out from Ohana Tacos (best taco in Maui located less than a mile off of Honoapiilani Rd), cold beer in our hands and enjoying the view from our lanai. I often used the gym at Konea Tower, which was convenient when using side exits and it had most of the equipment and free weights I needed. I thought the Hokulani Tower, although slightly older, was better designed and better situated with respect to the beach. Not described is the great walking path that links adjacent properties. It's a great jogging/walking path built adjacent to the beach. The owners were timely in their response through the reservation process and when we were at the unit. We highly recommend this property and this unit. Far better than a full service luxury hotel.

Many great things about this property, including: spaciousness compared with a hotel room, high quality interior (almost new, Bosch appliances, HD TV's, separate shower and tub, etc), great amenities (kid-friendly pools, Duke's restaurant on site, underground parking), snorkel on a reef right in front of the complex (many fish, turtles), convenient beach-walk to the south, grocery store within walking distance. Negatives: ocean view from this unit is limited to one side of the Lanai, some road noise when the sliding doors are open. Everyone on the island knows about Honua Kai - it has a great reputation.

We loved our stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The pictures seemed to good to be true but they weren't...it was that nice! The owner was very prompt in responding to any questions we had and was easy to work with. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends and family!

My family and I stayed in this awesome condo while in Maui and we absolutely loved it. The condo is so modern and new with a great view of the ocean and my wife treasured the huge fancy bathroom. The resort is by far the nicest around - immaculate pools, atmosphere and Dukes restaurant is the best.

We had such a wonderful stay at this condo. We've had the opportunity to visit the island of Maui numerous times with our young children, and this place by far is our favorite. Having a kitchen, laundry room, and a separate bedroom are definite advantages. The decor, appliances and furnishings are top notch. I loved the little grocery store in the lobby where I could just run downstairs to grab a cup of coffee. I liked how our property felt 5 star but didn't have the overwhelming crowds like at the Westin next door. Booking the reservation with the owner was a breeze too. I highly recommend this unit.
