As the 2009 snow starts to fly now is the time to make your reservations for this cabin. It is a beautiful way to spend time with family and friends while taking in some of the best snow the country has to offer. With all the conveniences of home, just minutes away from the lift lines, this cabin provides a perfect get away for both relaxation and fun on the mountain!
Morning at the cabin is the absolute best! Most mornings brings a family of moose and a variety of other wildlife right passed the cabin. There are very few people in the canyon at the start of the day and if you are looking for a solitary hike now is the best time to start.
Open and vaulted, incredible mountain views, come see the moose and wildlife graze just across the street. Cabin is conveniently located in the famous Brighton Ski Resort. While you are here you have to take the Snake Creek quad lift at Brighton, overlooking Heber City, Park City, and Deer Valley. The view is amazing and you will instantly fall in love with Utah's winter!
If you are lucky, a storm will come in overnight and you will have exclusive access to first tracks before the plows clear the road. Those are the days that we live for! First tracks with no waiting in the lift lines! Usually, by the time the road opens I'm worn out from too many runs so I head back to the cabin to take in a movie or relax in the jacuzzi.
You can buy groceries for your stay at a store before you get to the canyon or eat out. For breakfast, lunch, or dinner Silver Lake Lodge has a fantastic restaurant just minutes away and there are numerous establishments at the base of the canyon for night life and fun including the Porcupine Pub!
Be sure to try out some activities other than alpine skiing during your stay. Take some snow shoes or cross country gear and go across the street to Silver Lake State Park. You'll see all kinds of winter wildlife. It is a unique and amazing experience.
As the day comes to a close you will be very pleased you chose to stay in the canyon rather than going back down with all of the afternoon traffic. Once the sun is down and the people gone, you'll enjoy the serenity of the canyon with the reflection of the moon off the snow and the muffled noises that winter brings at night! Nothing is more relaxing.
Once you stay here I'm sure you'll realize why we love this place. It is not the most luxurious nor the fanciest cabin but it is warm and hospitable. What it lacks in amenities it makes up for by it's location.
