Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2007
Gail and Greg Stoner moved to Garrett County permanently in November 2005. Previously, we lived in Hagerstown, MD. We now live near Swallow Falls State Park. We bought the cottage in August, 2007 and had the upstairs completely renovated during the summer of 2008. We started renting the "new" cottage in October, 2008. The most consistent comments we have received are: clean, cozy and affordable with great lake views.
Why the Owner Chose Oakland
We absolutely love the Deep Creek Lake area and the people who live here. Being retired, we thought that this was a great investment and wanted to give people a lake view place to stay that would be affordable and memorable.

The lake views from all of the rooms, the location so close to all of the major activities and the beautiful and cozy interior makes Fox Den Lake House one of the nicest and most affordable cottages at the lake.

Perfect lakefront hideaway!

We were looking for a place to escape from reality for a few days and enjoy being in the Deep Creek Lake atmosphere, and we had everything we needed at Fox Den Lake House. It's homey, well-appointed with everything you need to not leave the house for your entire stay if you so desire, and has just the right amount of personal touches from Gail and Greg. The cinnamon buns awaiting us upon arrival were the "icing on the cake" (no pun intended!). We had a great stay and are sure to return again in the future!
