Oceanfront cottage 171 is located in Kill Devil Hills, 1/2 mile south of the Wright Brothers Memorial. This Outer Banks vacation rental is a part of the Wright Cottage Court. This is the 1st level of a duplex (the upstairs is cottage 271--vrbo 20494). This 2 bedroom oceanfront rental will sleep 6 (this includes children).
It features a bedroom with 1 queen bed, a bedroom with 2 double beds, bath, living room/kitchen area and oceanfront deck. The kitchen includes: stove/oven, toaster, microwave, refrigerator, cookware, dinnerware and silverware.
This 2 bedroom oceanfront rental is great for a couple looking to getaway, a small family, or a group of friends looking for an Outer Banks getaway. Linen is provided for your stay but not refreshed. Free hi speed wireless internet is included. Guests may also use the outdoor pool (open seasonally) at our adjancet property where you check in. YMCA passes may also be checked out there daily on a first-come, first-serve basis.
In the summer months this is a Saturday to Saturday rental only. In the spring, fall and winter this rental may be taken for nightly rental with a minimum night stay. Please call or e-mail for this information.
Rates are subject to change and special holiday or special event rates may apply. All guests must be 21 years old and older to register and occupy this rental unless they are a family unit.

The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
Our cottages are not run by a realty company so they are maintained by owners living on the beach. So if for any reason a mainteance issue was to occur, you can be sure that the situtaion would be handled quicker than waiting for a few days for someone to diagnose a problem.
Please note that the marker is placed on top of the actual rental. In the 2 rows of houses, it is the oceanfront rental on the north side of the 2 rows of houses.

Location is truly awesome with a wonderful view of the beach/dunes which is only steps away. Close proximity to restaurants/entertainment et al.The deck is great and just as advertised. Unfortunately, the cottage is not well maintained at all. The smell of cat pee was overwhelming when we checked into the unit. Maintenance came and sprayed something which improved the odor quite a bit but it never went away. The blankets and bedspreads appeared to be antiques and we elected to use a sleeping bag instead or just the sheets for the kids. The place just didn't feel clean at all. New furniture was present in the family room and the bathroom was newly remodeled for the most part but the place could definitely use some more tender loving care. The unit has tons of potential for the location and is plenty roomy for a 2/1. Could be a great rental if the condition were improved. We would not stay here again.
Owner response:We do not allow pets at this property nor our other 19 cottages nor any of the hotels we also own on the Outer Banks. This is brand new carpeting that has been installed in the cottage. It may have been the residual odor of the cleaning chemicals that were used to clean, as this is the first report of any "smell" that we had all summer long as the cottage has been sold out all summer. We do appreciate your coming to visit the Outer Banks.
