The Mountain Laurel Hideaway is an elegant cabin near Harpers Ferry West Virginia. From our sunset porch or large deck enjoy an expansive view overlooking the Shenandoah Valley. On a clear day vistas of up to 60 miles are possible. Spectacular sunsets are a given. A leg of The Appalachian Trail is a 10 minute walk up the mountain from our cabin.
Artistic and comfortable, the cabin has two bedrooms, one on each floor. There is also a loft with a King size bed. The loft is sometimes used for children, we also have an air mattress available. There are toys and children's books available in the loft. We are willing to make an exception to our 6 person rule in case of children.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. We have all new stainless steel appliances. There is a beautiful view to look at as you rinse your dishes.In the rec room are two comfy couches, a VCR library, ping-pong table, pinball machine and wood-burning stove. The screened porch and deck are right off this room.
The Mountain Laurel Hideaway is in close proximity to some very good wineries. On route 9 is the Hillsborough Vineyards.
One mile off route 9 is the Doukenie Winery. The Breaux vineyard is another option.
If fine dining is your pleasure, visit nearby Shepherdstown where there is a large array of excellent restaurants. In the Summertime
Shepherdstown is the home of The Contemporary American Theatre Festival.
We are in close proximity to The Shenandoah River and the water sports it offers. River Riders is one option for rafting and tubing.

- There are many wineries near Hillsboro, a short drive away from the cabin. In nearby Shepherdstown there are craft shops and excellent restaurants, also a theatre which shows independent films.The Contemporary American Theatre Festival is also located in Shepherdstown, a summer tradition.

We have spent many happy times here and enjoyed the peace, quiet, beauty of the mountain and hope you will do the same.
The Unique Benefits at this Elegant Cabin
Anybody who visits comments on the world class view, sitting on the deck and enjoying the sunsets is priceless. Walking to the Appalachian trail is a surprise plus.
