Meanwhile, the owner’s assistant, Laura, is available to offer local travel advice and handle any concierge service you may require so that you can focus on your travel experience and enjoy the house.
Based on the couple’s travels to over 50 countries, and incorporating an elegant yet minimalistic design approach we call Tropical Elegance, the house was designed for a luxurious vacation and for understated entertainment. Each bedroom has its own distinct personality and stunning views. With the open air living room as its focal point along with its adjacent wrap-around infinity pool, our guests find it very difficult to actually leave to go enjoy the beaches and the rainforests and their abundant activities. From the living room, family room, or any of its rooms and adjoining decks, you can literally lounge from sunrise until a starry or moonlit night and never tire of its views and tranquility. You can see an amazing variety of birds, including toucans and parrots, and of course, enjoy the ocean view where you can see almost the entire southern Costa Rican coastline. And the fabled Costa Rican sunsets are indescribable.

Because of the nature of our jobs, we have traveled extensively and seen some amazing places in over 50 countries. We have had special experiences in every kind of accomodation from a $5 thatch roof bungalow on a deserted beach in Indonesia...to staying in $1000+ a night luxury suite in Fiji -- and everything in between. What we found was that it is not just the design of the house, villa, or hotel that makes a fantastic experience (though a great design does help). Instead, what makes a unique accommodation and travel experience is one that is special, memorable, and personalized when guided by a local resident. Indeed, our place is fantastic. The setting is incredible (probably the best single homesite in all of Southern Costa Rica...believe me, I've seen them all). The interior furnishings are Architectural Digest quality (indeed we were featured in California Home and Design magazine). The layout is perfectly conducive for entertainment, solitude, relaxation, anything you look for in a holiday. But above all, we pride ourselves in delivering a customized, authentic travel experience. After you leave us, we know that you will depart with several, special, treasured memories, and we will work with each guest to help them weave those special experiences.

• In-villa massage. We have 2 or 3 favorite masseuses in the area who will come to the villa…enjoy a sunset massage right on the terrace while you listen to the birds and the waves in the background.
• Personalized or group yoga. There is arguably no better place to learn or improve yoga than in the midst of the rainforest or on an idyllic beach. We can arrange yoga instruction right in our villa…or you can join group classes nearby.
• Beach excursions to tranquil beaches. Mati can pack a lunch and a cooler full of drinks, or you can bring the portable grill and have a fun beach barbecue. There are countless out of the way beaches in the area, and we’ll point you in the right direction.
