The Best Place to stay in Guanacast Costa Rica

Guest: Brooks (Maui, Hawaii)
Date of Stay: 11/24/11 Review Submitted: 01/30/12

I have visited Costa Rica for the last eight years. I always either began or ended my trip at Casa Verde. If you want a low key, safe and peaceful environment for your Costa Rican vacation I can recommend no place with a higher value all around than Casa Verde. Resorts are great, however peace and tranquility are even better. This location has some of the best beaches within walking distance. Tamarindo is nearby and can be accessed either by driving or by water taxi at the estuary. I have recomended Casa Verde to all of my friends and family, and to the people that I work with for its exceptional location, its remarkable convenience, and the owners overall hospitality. Bonnie and Brian are some of the best people on the planet. If the world had more people like Bonnie and Brian in it; we just might have world peace. No matter what you do in Costa Rica; Casa Verde is the best place to launch your vacation from, or wind down at the end of your adventures. Pura Vida Brooks

My new slice of Heaven

Guest: Chris (Austin, TX USA)
Date of Stay: 07/12/11 Review Submitted: 08/14/11

Casa Verde was by far the most relaxing place I have ever stayed throughout my travels. Hearing the sound of the waves while relaxing in the hammock right outside my room door gave me the complete understanding of the phrase “Pura Vida”. The location couldn’t have been better. A mere 50 yard walk through a tropical jungle to a gorgeous beach, two minute walk to incredible restaurants, five minutes to the grocery store and a 10 minute beach walk to Tamarindo. Everything about the room was comfortable, from the beds to air conditioning that I rarely turned on. The kitchen size, free Wi-Fi, cable TV and surfboard racks made the rooms extremely practical…and it was immaculately clean. And if you are there on the right day, the most incredible German bakery delivers fresh pastries to you. Bonnie and Brian couldn’t have been kinder, more generous hosts. Bonnie can arrange most anything you need, from a bicycle to transportation to the airport. I told her I had lined up an estuary tour the next morning for $30; she immediately booked me one for $20. That was the type of service that was the norm…and it was amazing. This was my first time to Costa Rica and because of Casa Verde and Bonnie and Brian; it is now an annual destination for me…can’t wait to get back! Not just 5 stars…6.

My Paradise and home away from home in Costa Rica

If you are looking for peace this is it. Casa Verde is surrounded by rainforrest with the sounds of surf just steps away. There is a perfect surf break directly in front of the house and surf lessons availble if you want to learn. Bonnie and Brian will make you feel right at home. I have stayed with them several times and each time makes me love thier place just a little more. I have reccomended thier spot to many friends and all of them loved it as well. You can find adventure and relaxation in one spot. The property is beautiful and well maintained with the comforts of air conditioning and hot water. Towels are supplied for the beach and pool and if you are need of laundry service it can be arranged on property. Bonnie and Brian have been in Playa Grande for years and are very well connected in the area and can arrange everything from a bike rental to deep sea fishing. They can also arrange transfer to the airport if needed. Tamarindo is a 10 minnute walk o one of the most beautiful beaches I the world. You may take a water taxi for a minimal fee and and enjoy the small beachside town and return to peaceful Playa Grande at night. Some of the most amazing meals I have eaten in my life are walking distance from Casa Verde and as you walk you can hear the waves and smell all the fragrances of tropical flowers. There is also a mini super where you may purchase food to cook at home if you like. On several occasions fresh seafood and pasteries have even been delivered straight to the property. It's better than a resort. I have traveled all over this country and this is by far my favorite spot. It is great for couples, friends and families.

We can't wait to go back!!

Guest: Gracie (Montreal, Canada)

Casa Verde embodies the Costa Rican slogan "pura vida". Laid back, simple, safe and surrounded by the natural beauty of hibiscus flowers, banana trees, agave and palms, this is the ideal spot for a private getaway at Playa Grande. The pictures on this site give you a good sense of how beautiful, immaculate and tastefully designed the property is. Each unit is charming and built to meet your specific needs - whether that be a fully equipped kitchen or a rack for your surf boards. You can hear the waves crashing on the beach as you lay in the hammock by the pool. You have direct access to a pristine beach with world class surf. You can go to yoga first thing in the morning, collect shells on the beach all day and choose from a number of delicious restaurants just a few minutes away in the evening. Bonnie and Bryan are the best. We had a really special trip thanks to them. They gave us an inside line on all the amazing places to explore in the area and their recommendations always exceeded our expectations. Believe it or not, we extended our stay at Casa Verde to soak up the sun, surf and fun for four more nights! It was our first time visiting, but we are definitely going back! You should check it out. It will not disappoint.
