Why the Owner Chose Dunedin
The History of Dunedin, Florida
"Delightful" Dunedin's village-like atmosphere and a relaxed lifestyle has lured people for decades from around the world. Enjoying the natural wooded and subtropical setting and close to four miles of picturesque waterfront, Dunedin sits on central Florida's west coast, in the heart of Pinellas County's Suncoast. It is also one of the few open waterfront communities from Sarasota to Cedar Key where buildings do not obscure the view.
It may be the world's healthiest climate and the year-round outdoor fun that brings visitors to Dunedin, but it is Dunedin's village quaintness coupled with its progressive vision and masterful planning that keeps them here. It is not surprising that many seasonal visitors elect to stay once they discover Dunedin is without the trappings and congestion of most Florida resort towns.
Dunedin reflects the rich American and Scottish heritage of its founding fathers. This charming village-like town has the distinction of being the oldest town south of Cedar Key. Early in its history, thanks to a dock built to accommodate schooners and sloops and the ingenuity of pioneers from as near as Georgia and as far as Scotland, Dunedin became one of Florida's chief seaport and trading centers. At one time Dunedin had the largest fleet of sailing vessels in Florida. Early settlers were primarily cotton and citrus growers, and it is hard to envision that most of what is now downtown was once a big cotton field!
The Unique Benefits at this House
Our Dunedin home is located near all the main attractions. We like to bike downtown and dine at a variety of local cafes. The beach is a 4 mile bike ride along the Pinellas Trail and a beautiful spot to catch the sunset.

Dasha, we had a great time and loved the house. I am a Parrot Head so the computer password was perfect! I had a beach house at Cape San Blas years ago so when I saw the sign for Apalachicola oysters, I felt right at home. I will recommend your house to anyone looking for a rental in that area. Thank you, Jennie

Thank you very much. It is a very nice house. We had a great vacation and were very happy there. I will let you know when I receive the check. Thanks again for making it such a nice experience. ### Hi, Dasha, Today finds us trying to cope with unseasonably cool and rainy weather, only about 50degrees.It makes us wish for those balmy days we enjoyed in Dunedin. Our grandsons still talk about the fun they had. ### We enjoyed the area and got to know lots of new friends. Right now we would like to have the house for Feb and March 2010. Maybe April but not sure yet.. Will know by Sept if April is a go. You never got to see our two dogs...here's a picture of them on Russell Beach. Good luck with your horses..
