This great spot met all of our needs as a young family. It was very clean and very well equipped with washer/dryer, beach towels/chair, and kitchen necessities as well. Danielle had left us a basket of fresh limes, apple bananas and an avocado from the property, all of which were delicious! Both Gregg and Danielle were very friendly and helpful. Gregg met us upon our arrival and helped us with our bags (we were travelling with our 6 month old daughter so we had a lot of stuff!) and even brought us a portable playpen to use during our stay. We could not believe how beautiful and lush the property is! We loved listening to the birds, looking at Danielle's orchids and exploring the grounds. A great cafe that Gregg recommended is just up the road and we walked there for excellent coffee and baked goods in the morning. The property is conveniently located for exploring everything from Hana to Haleakala as well as the exciting North Shore beaches. Paia Town has excellent shops and restaurants and is an easy and beautiful 10 minute drive from the cottage. Thank you Gregg and Danielle for your excellent hospitality at this lovely home base. We had a great time and would certainly recommend your cottage to friends and family.
Owner response:Glad you enjoyed your stay with us and all the fresh fruit. It is so nice to have Baked on Maui within walking distance from our place, all the guests rave about the food and prices. Hope to see you back again.

Thank you Gregg and Danielle for sixteen days of tropical delights. Your hospitality, kindness and respect for our privacy were so welcome and generous. Your cottage met my "dream" most of all for the peace and quiet, perfect for the personal retreat and animated family visit I had in mind. The well-designed but compact premises feel secluded, even though the expansive windows open onto the spacious lawn and landscaping, facing a huge mango tree. We enjoyed the glimpse of the ocean, wild cloud formations, luscious sunrise and sunset colors, trade winds rustling through the palms, the thump of coconuts and cardinals singing all day. Logistics were easy with our own washer/dryer on the back porch, plenty of dishes and glassware, fully-equipped kitchen and the entirely useful and comfortable living space. Lots of fluffy bathroom towels and extra kitchen linens, along with good quality pots and pans made for great convenience if not luxury, more than adequate for our needs. The entire cottage was absolutely sparkling clean, from windows to kitchen utensils, the shower stall, and even the far back corner of the walk-in closet. Easily adjusted screened windows on all sides let in refreshing breezes, but kept evening mosquitoes out. You welcomed knowing if anything was worn out by quickly replacing it, even if it didn’t matter much to us. The compact kitchen made it easy to prepare gourmet meals with asparagus, green filet beans, ripe tomatoes, mesclun greens, even goat cheese, all from nearby Maui producers in Hana and Kula, real locavore pleasures. Mahalo for the never ending supply from your own garden of ripening avocados, juicy limes, and sweet lemons, so perfect with marlin steaks from Mana Foods in Paia. The pear guava from your tree added aromatic tang to our mango, papaya, apple banana and pineapple fruit salad. Bouquets of flowers, gathered with permission from your hedges and shade beds, decorated our table along the magnificent orchid tress you offered us. Ninety-seven year old Dad, who joined me for much of my stay, found comfort and convenience that easily met his needs. The paved path was just right for him to keep up his frequent exercise jaunts, especially thrilling him with new orchids opening up every day. He was awed by such vibrant colors and the amazing scented orchids. Your guests should know that you offer a rare and special place, authentic in its welcome, setting and style. No glitz or gimmick. Just real island love: Aloha.
Owner response:We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Great meeting your 98 year old Dad.....he looked more like 75 to us.... Hope to see you again next year!

Cottage was clean, comfortable, and well designed. A very beautiful property. More practical and pleasant than staying at a hotel. Owners were very friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond for us.They provided suggestions about places to go, and what to experience, which we took advantage of. We would recommend this property to friends and family.
Owner response:Aloha and thanks for your review. We're glad you enjoyed all our local suggestions and places to go. The photos you took of Danielle's orchid garden were incredible...thanks for sharing them with us. Hope to see you and your family back in Maui some day soon.. Gregg and Danielle

We had a wonderful experience at Maui Dream Cottage. All the information and photos was very accurate and helpful. The property is very well maintain. The owners are fantastic and very nice. Very quiet neighborhood. The land surrounded with beautiful garden and flowers. Ask the owner for a tour, she will be enchanted. The location is close by less than 10 minutes to Paia where you will found good restaurants and cafe. Scuba, windsurfing, SUP, is best activities. The small, private beach is close by. I will highly recommend.
Owner response:Aloha and tanks for your stay. It sure was fun making those Stand Up Padddleboard runs down the coast with both of you. Hope to see you again in Maui. So glad you enjoyed the Orchid Tour with Danielle.

If you're looking for privacy and a wonderful place to retreat up away from all the action, this is the place for you. Beautiful and very quiet, the grounds are very well manicured with lots of flowers, fruit trees, and plants to admire. I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking to visit Maui. Well worth the money while Gregg and Danielle are so very gracious. I'm from Maui and will return to visit every year and stay at this cottage. Thank you Gregg and Danielle for allowing us to share a little piece of your Heaven on Earth.
Owner response:Aloha and thanks for your review. We hope to see you back next year. Glad you enjoyed the flower gardens and fresh fruit so much. Gregg and Danielle

The Dream Cottage was the perfect location for our vacation in Maui. It was set in beautifully landscaped lawns of flowering shrubs, trees and tropical fruit all sitting on the edge of the rainforest, which was our main point of interest. It was very well furnished with every amenity and exceptionally clean and bright. Greg informed us of places of interest which we visited and enjoyed and he also told us of some exceptional dining spots in the nearby areas. We found them to be all that he said they were. Danielle showed us her beautiful orchid gardens where we saw species of orchids unknown to Canada. We couldn’t have had a more beautiful location to come home to each evening after spending the day in the rain forest or touring the island. We highly recommend this cottage to anyone visiting the area and should we ever get the chance to go again we would certainly return to the same cottage. Ruth and Roman Barrie ON CANADA..
Owner response:Thanks so much for your review. Guests like you make it all worthwhile to be a host in Maui. So glad you both enjoyed the gardens and fresh fruit so much. We hope to see you again soon in paradise. Mahalo from Danielle and Gregg

We enjoyed staying at this property, even though their were a few problems. We would recommend the property to friends who like to stay away from the crowds. We enjoyed the solitude and the beautiful grounds. The owners were very helpful with everything. We wish we could have stayed longer, but had to cut trip because of illness.
Owner response:Aloha and thanks for the review.......sorry about the leak in the bathroom...a new faucet is all it took. Looking forward to your next visit. Mahalo from Gregg and Danielle.

We immensely enjoyed this rental! The grounds and cottage were just as described, very clean and homey. The native plants and flowers on the property were well maintained. We loved the privacy and the setting was gorgeous. We felt like it was our own private residence, as it was so quite and peaceful. The trade winds blowing through the cottage at night were wonderful, and we also enjoyed sitting outside under the trees and listening to the birds .Gregg and Danielle were wonderful hosts, very helpful with information about the island, but letting us have our privacy as well. I would definitely recommend this property to any traveler to Maui wanting a personal experience. If we ever go back we will stay there again.

Maui Dream Cottage was clean and comfortable, peaceful and very private. Lush gardens and a wide variety of tropical fruit trees. Owners were very helpful with any needs or questions we had. We would recommend it to anyone looking for the real Aloha! Thank You!
Owner response:We're so happy you enjoyed your stay in Haiku. Danielle just got two blue and two red ribbons for her orchids in a local show. The avocados are falling from the trees....the birds are still singing. Mahalos from Gregg and Danielle

We really enjoyed our stay in this slice of paradise. The cottage is set in a beautiful tropical garden with amazing flowers and fruit trees, and we'd sometimes get bananas and avocados picked fresh by Gregg an Danielle. They are a lovely couple and know a lot about the island. Danielle’s orchids and Greggs cars are definitely worth checking out. The cottage is immaculately maintained. We enjoyed buying and cooking goodies that we bought from Mana foods in Maui (definitely a store worth finding) and organic veggies grown locally. There are also good restaurants in Paia and great sushi in Makawow. Hookipa beach is a short drive away and we found it to be the best beach on Maui especially if you like surfing and windsurfing. Driving around the island on the Hana highway is another must (leave early!). Try and catch a gig with local musician Billy K. He's an amazing talent that spans traditional hawaiian music, rock, operatic singing and more.

I loved staying upcountry on Maui for a more authentic experience of Hawaii away from the resorts. Located on the "Road to Hana" but more central to the food and shops at charming Paia. The cottage is very private on a lovely property of lawn, gardens, orchids, and orchards of avocado, banana, mango, orange, lime, and papaya trees. Every day benefts from the cool breezes and nearly nightly rain showers. Magnificent view of the ocean. Morning begins with choruses of many distinct bird songs! Nearby world class surfing and wind surfing, as well as calmer quieter easy entry beaches. Town of Haiku has several amazingly delicious restaurants and all the services you might need. You will love exploring Maui from this location.
Owner response:The restaurants in Haiku are great. The old pineapple canneries have been turned into shops and are right around the corner. We even have a gym that has visitor rates.

Two acres of tropical fruits, avocado's the size of grapefruits, manicured culinary herb gardens with a variety of beautiful Orchids planted every where. Our cottage was private, clean and complete with all the desired amenities. Maui Dream Cottages are a 20 minute drive to the airport in Kahaluli and a short drive to the local beaches and a longer beautiful drive to the Hana sacred pools,. We will return here, on our next vacation. Oh, I forgot to mention snorkeling, surfing, kite surfing, wind surfing, swimming nearby and great resturants
Owner response:Danielle's orchid gardens are amazing and she even has them planted up in the trees. She loves to show her garden to our visitors. As for the avocados, they can weigh up to 3 pounds.

My wife and I were looking for a quiet secluded place to enjoy our 10 day 9 night stay on the beautiful island of Maui. Our first visit to Maui was in December of 2010 and we decided to visit again in April-May 2011. Made all arrangements via email with Gregg Blue, the owner of the property. Very easy to facilitate our accommodations with Gregg. Just prior to our departure from Dallas to paradise, we contacted Gregg via telephone to see if it was possible to ship our beach gear to the cottage so we wouldn't have to try and bring on the flight. Once again, most accommodating was the innkeeper. Our flight was delayed in LA for 6 hours so as we thought we'd arrive at 7:30pm Maui time - unfortunately for us, we won't get to Maui until 1:30am. Contacted Gregg to inform him of our dilemma only to find he had a solution for us - just call him when we pass Mama's Fish House (just 10 minutes from the cottage and worth a visit) and he would have his phone beside him to wake him up. What a nice gesture. So now we've called Gregg at 1:30am to let him know we'll be there in a few minutes. As we round the corner on this dark road on the edge of the jungle, we see a man patiently awaiting us with a flashlight making it so easy to find the place! The cottage was very clean and perfect for my wife and I. The washer and dryer comes in very handy and we often cooked breakfast and other meals to enjoy. The grounds are kept up nicely and lots of nature to enjoy on the two acres that the cottage sits on. Needless to say, we are visiting Maui again this August and December and plan on booking the Maui Dream Cottage again.
Owner response:Aloha and thanks for your review...... All I can say is that we believe in the Golden Rule. Do on to others as you would have others do on to you. Mahalo and hope to see you again soon...

I totally enjoyed my stay at Maui Dream Cottage and hope to vacation there again someday. The cottage was clean and well equipped with everything I needed and most importantly the bed is very comfortable. The property is quite and peaceful and the gardens are gorgeous. I especially enjoyed the orchid gardens, and the owners shared avocado's and lime with me as well as herbs from the garden.

This place is smaller than the photos would indicate. The master bedroom was large with plenty of closet space. To get to the second bedroom requires walk outside and is quite small. It is close to town and easy to find. Kind of a long walk from parking which is not well lighted. Generally the place could use some updating from the 60's. Of the four places that we stayed in Hawaii this was the most expensive.
Owner response:We take all of our reviews seriously. The lights on the walkway have been upgraded. Most people enjoy the beautiful walk and the vintage 1970's charm of the cottage. The photos are current and so is our you-tube walk through video.

Cottage is located in the cooler, green area of North Maui. The photos don't do it justice. The property, trees, palms, and plants are beautiful. A very clean and maintained location. The Cottage was well furnished including appliances. The bedroom including bed were very comfortable and included all linens and pillows. The kitchen included all utensils, cups, and kitchen gadgets. Washer and Dryer is also available at the cottage. The owner was very helpful in showing all aspects of the cottage. I would highly recommend staying at the cottages at this location. It is very relaxing to come back to all the plants and trees. A very tropical experience without all the heat found in other parts of Maui. The cottage location requires short driving times to get to small town cuisine, local shops, and excellent surfing viewing. You will love the location.
Owner response:It sure is nice to have a full size washer and dryer on the back porch. No one should have to go to a laundry mat on their vacation. The kitchen is fully equipped and if there is something you need and can't find, just ask us and we will get it. This cottage has a king size tempurpedic mattress.
