My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in September. We were met by the owner’s father, who was very nice. He gave us helpful information about the apartment. We were disappointed when we entered the apartment and were greeted with a musty, moldy smell typical of some basements. It had been described as a loft, so we were surprised that it was a basement apartment. I even went back on line and re-read the descriptions to see if I had missed something. There is a dehumidifier, which needed to be emptied twice a day. There is also an A/C that helps with the dampness. If you have allergies to mold, I would recommend you stay elsewhere. I would rate the cleanliness as average, compared to other apartments in Italy where we stayed that were spotless. It would benefit from a deep clean. The living space is large and open, but the only source of outside light is the door (no windows). The sofa bed is very comfortable. The shower is large, which was nice. The location is close to the subway and a bus stop and also a 10-minute walk from the Vatican. If we came to Rome again, we would pay a little more and stay somewhere else.

My family (5 people) stayed in this apartment for 5 nights when we visited Rome/Vatican in July 2011. Taking into consideration the affordable rental fees, this apartment is an excellent base for visiting all Rome/Vatican has to offer. It is quite close to the Cipro metro station or the Emo bus stop. There are 2 supermarkets nearby, which is very convenient for purchasing groceries and other supplies. The wifi, air conditioner, dehumidifier and washing machine worked really well unlike the other apartments I have rented in Italy. The sofa beds are the most comfortable sofa beds we have slept on. The owners, Andrea and his wife, were at the apartment at the meeting time to welcome us. This was a welcome change from our previous 2 rentals in Italy where we had to wait for over an hour each. There are also a few banks and restaurants in the vicinity of the apartment. There was a general transportation strike on our check out day. Andrea arranged for a taxi to take us to Naples so that we were not stranded. Thanks, Andrea. Please note that metro line A shuts down at 9 until April 2012, if I understand correctly. For people staying in this apartment, you simply have to take bus MA1, which sort of parallels metro line A, and get off at the Emo (or is it Ewo?) stop. If we get the opportunity to visit Rome again, we will not hesitate to stay in the apartment again. I would recommend this apartment to families and friends.

I stayed here with my parents for a week in July 2011. We were coming in from NYC and Australia. We absolutely loved it - the apartment is extremely clean and well kept and the gorgeous ceiling gives it great character. It was also very quiet at night. The apartment had all of the amenities you need for a week, including a washing machine! It was about a 7 minute walk to the underground subway, and about 10 or so minutes to the Vatican wall. The best part is that the owner, Andrea, went beyond the call of duty to ensure we were settled in comfortably and had everything we needed. In fact, there was a train strike on our last day, and he even made all the arrangements to get us a car to Civitavecchia so we didn't miss our cruise. I would stay here again any time, and would recommend it to any of my friends.

We spent a very comfortable, wonderful three weeks at Vatican Apartments and the time just seemed to flash by. The apartment was very spacious for the two of us. Even though it was located on a very busy road with the Metro only ten minutes walk and lots of buses running by outside, the sound level inside was almost silence. The outside noise never penetrated into the apartment or bothered us in the least. The location was also such that the number of tourists in the area was minimal despite the huge influx just then for the canonisation ceremonies, and you could feel that you were actually living almost as a local with some great restaurants and supermarkets within a few minutes walk of us. Everything in the apartment worked and on the rare occasion that it did not, our host, Andrea, magically had everything functioning again in the minimal time and with a happy smile and great sense of humour. In fact, at one point, his help was way above and beyond any expectations! Much appreciated. Highly recommended.
Owner response:Ciao doctor, hope your wife is ok and you are home safe. Has been a great pleasure to host you in Rome, hope you will be back soon. During the summer you can use the courtyard and eat outside! Andrea

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in late September. Andrea was a very good host and showed us how to use everything. The apartment has private parking with a gated entry, which was good because we were driving. It's within a short walk of the Vatican, and a metro station nearby provided easy access to the other sites in Rome. There was a grocery store up the hill that we enjoyed shopping at. The wifi was a nice thing to have, and the television has lots of channels. The washing machine worked well and clothes dried quickly, especially when placed near the dehumidifier. We enjoyed using the kitchenette to make a few meals too. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this place.

Our first visit to Rome was made comfortable and convenient thanks to our stay at Andrea's apartment. The apartment is new, clean and modern. We loved the kitchenette and ate our breakfast and one dinner in !!! The clothes washer was also a God-send as was the secure parking spot. The apartment's owner Andrea, is incredibly warm, welcoming and helpful. We hope to have the opportunity to return to Rome and stay again.

Superb budget stay.Superior location, and amazingly quiet to be on main road/bus line.Exceptionally clean, not as you might expect if you had stayed elsewhere in Italy.Owner great to deal with, only caveat is beds are sleeper sofas,no problem for my son and I,but would not have been acceptable for my wife if she was with us.Have stayed at many apartments in europe, this is one of best values I have found.
Owner response:Ciao David, I am glad you and your son enjoyed the apartment and most of all Rome. Hope you'll come back soon. In that case remember that apt HAS private parking. All the best, Andrea

My wife and I stayed at the Vatican apartment for 3 days and found the apartment as it was advertised. It was clean and well maintained as well as in reasonable walking distance to the metro. Andrea was most helpful and responsive with any questions or inquires that we had. I would return to this apartment and would recommend it to anyone looking for affordable accommodation close to transit.
Owner response:Thanks for your kindness, wish you all the best! Andrea

My family (2 adults and 2 children) and I found this apartment to be a great find for the five nights that we spent in Rome. The apartment was just as it appears on the website, with plenty of room for all of us. The apartment is conveniently located near a subway stop and with access to major bus lines. It is within walking distance of the Vatican. There is a large grocery store nearby, and many small bars and restaurants for great food and morning coffee. The neighborhood itself is charming and quiet, although the apartment is on a rather busy street. Our host, Andrea, was very hospitable and provided a good orientation to the apartment itself and to the neighborhood. He arranged to have a car meet us at the airport, and brought us fresh croissants on our last morning!
Owner response:Megan, has been my true pleasure!

I stayed at Vatican Apartments for several weeks in December 2009 and January 2010, and was satisfied with both the apartments (I actually stayed in both) and the kindness and courtesy expressed by their owner, Andrea. Both apartments are clean and simply but stylishly furnished, with handy shower, cooking facilities, and a communal washing machine outside. Another bonus is the free wi-fi. Although on a busy road, the apartments are quiet and an easy walk from Cirpo metro station. There's also a handy night bus that drives past, so getting back from central Rome is easy enough if you don't want to splurge on a taxi after the metro shuts for the night. If any improvement could be made, I'd suggest providing hand soap in the bathroom as it can be a pain to arrive and realise you have to head back out to the supermarket to buy some. Aside from this, I was satisfied with my stay!

This very modern and modular unit was highly functional and well located. It is quite a charming apartment made all the more charming by the gracious, friendly and very helpful host, Andrea. The apartment is quite close to the Metro for getting into the famous sites of Rome. It is also reasonable walk to the Vatican Museums. Recommended. There were 3 of staying in the apartment - myself, my wife and 21 year old daughter - and it was quite suitable.

Excellent studio flat, clean, good amount of hot water, 5 sleep comfortably, close to supermarkets, Metro and buses. Its not worth it paying to stay in the centre of Rome, is too expensive and noisy. Andrea is very friendly and has a very efficient secretary. I definitively would go back!!

The apartment was fantastic, great location, self contained with everything we needed to make our stay relaxed and enjoyable. Andrea made our stay wonderful. Highly recommend these apartments, and Andrea to anyone wanting to visit Roma. We initially picked the apartment because it offered secure car parking - however we will now def. be back next time regardless if we have the car or not!! Andrea thank you very much for making our stay in Roma so wonderful. :)

The vatican apartments were a great place to stay for our 4 nights in Rome. Andrea's hospitality was great, he was very attentive and ensured we were settled and comfortable, without being too overbearing. He also gave us a tour around the surrounding neighbourhood which was unexpected but appreciated. It is well located with regard to public transport and a quick walk to the vatican city. Andrea also gave us a lift down to the metro station on our departure and his ability to fit 3 adults, 2 large backpacks and other luggage into his smart car was legendary!

The apartment was perfect for our short 3 night stay. It is a 10 minute walk from the Vatican, 5 minute walk from the metro, and conveniently surrounded by markets/restaurants. It was very clean and had everything we need (we even cooked one night). It is open with a lot of space and can probably sleep as many as 4-5 people comfortably. Andrea was very personable, accomodating, and flexible. He let us into the apartment a couple hours early and even gave us a lift to the metro station with our heavy bags on the last day. I would stay here again.

We are a family of three with a teenage son, arriving Rome in April by a rented car. Andrea's Rome apartment is ideal! It has own parking space within the gated courtyard, and easy to drive to/from Rome if you travel around Italy by car, while central enough to walk around the Ancient City (the Vatican within 10-15 min. walk). The minimalistic studio-style apartment itself is very nice & cosy. Spacious & practical, with 3 sofas that can turn into comfortable beds. The bathroom is small but clean & practical. Andrea (the owner, whom I has mistaken from his name as a lady!) was very nice & helpful, and would answer call/SMS, or come right away & help fix if we had problems (couldn't find English TV channels, internet Wi-Fi connection loss). We had a lovely & very happy stay there. Thanks very much, Andrea. I'll send you photos from our trip (want to go back again already!).

Our family of 4 (including/2 almost-grown children - ages 21 and 17) were quite comfortable in this Rome studio apartment. It was a terrific value, too! The photos and description are accurate; it is a large, open space and quite functional. The owner is very business-like, personable, and responsive. We appreciated the close proximity to the Vatican and Cipro metro station and the nice grocery stores nearby. Thanks! Perhaps we can come back someday. ---All the best, The Whitneys

The property is composed of two twin apartments ( separate but can be combined ), xtremely well organized. My and my friend's family ( 9 people total! ) enjoyed our vacation so much. The studios are quiet and also have their own courtyard with plants and an area for private secure parking. We decided to rent a minivan for the weekend to visit Ostia and Florence and hadn't the hassle of parking. I recommended this apartment to all my friends.
Owner response:Thanks for the referrals Denise, I already hosted Mark and a couple just booked one loft for next February. When are you coming back in Rome?
