We stayed the week of July 23rd and really enjoyed the area and house. The house was very clean, well equipped and close to the beach. The house was large enough for my family as well as my sisters. The upstairs was very hot but all the fans really helped. The kids loved running around outside and playing with the toys. When we left we had to pry the toy Woody from Toy Story from my 2 year old daughter because she loved it so much. The street was nice and quiet, felt very safe there. We would reccommend this house to anyone who wanted alot of space and relaxation.

We stayed at this property for the 4th of July week and had a wonderful time. The house is very spacious and comfortable and has all the amenities you will need. The backyard was great for the kids to play in and the walk to the private beach and public beach/park were just a quick walk. The neighborhood is great, everyone was very friendly and downtown shopping/restaurants is a quick 5 minutes drive. Would highly recommend this property, we plan to stay there again.

This was perfect for two small families to enjoy the week. Walking to beach so close and easy. House was great, everything we needed. The Dittner's were there to welcome us and show us around. The house was very clean and organized. The only thing that keeps it from an excellent is no AC and the upstairs got really hot! They have fans there which helped.
Owner response:Amy, Glad you had a good time with family and your couple friends. I wanted to comment on the hot upstairs.I am so sorry! Suat and I ran through the house so quickly showing him where everything was that I must have forgotten to show him the Whole House Fan in the ceiling upstairs. We have been told by many that they were amazed at how it cooled the house down especially at night and with all the extra fans that it wasn't too bad. I hope this helps and maybe we will see you next year. Blessings... Michele

If you want a comfortable house to relax in after a day at the beach, this is it. The house is clean and nicely decorated. If you like to do your own cooking while on vacation, like I do, you will be pleasantly surprised to find just about every utensil and size of bowl, pot or pan that you can imagine. We walked to the beach every day, enjoying lovely flowers on the way. It's a nice, private, clean beach with plenty of space. The neighborhood is quiet and great for walks, so we walked every evening. All the people in the neighborhood were very friendly and made you feel right at home. There is plenty to do in this area, but we just wanted to relax by going to the beach, cooking at home, watching movies, playing games, and taking walks. This was perfect for all of the above because the house is just a great place to hang out, inside and out. There is a two-person, canopied lawn swing in the back yard, lawn chairs and a picnic table to enjoy. Everything was clean and well-maintained. We really hated to end this vacation! Thank you, Eric and Michele.

My husband, twin sons and nanny recently stayed here and had a terrific experience. The house was well equipped with everything we could possibly need. It is a great location - quiet neighborhood, walking distance to beach where there is a great little restaurant. The backyard had a nice picnic table for outdoor dining when it got hot. Michele was very attentive to all our questions and we would definitely stay there again when we visit our family in Niantic. Thanks, Michele!
Owner response:Angela, We are glad you had a great time visiting the area. Thank you for the kind words. We hope to see you next year. Michele

The house is very comfortable, and is a nice place for children. We especially appreciated the toys that were kept upstairs. An easy distance to Crescent Beach as well. We enjoyed our weekend and went to our favorite spots in and around Niantic: the Book Barn, and New London Antiques. The Ditners made the process of checking in and out very simple, and the house is well stocked with kitchen things and towels.
Owner response:Chay, Thanks so much for the review. We are happy you enjoyed your stay hope to see you next year. Michele

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. It was very comfortable, airy, and roomy, with lots of windows, in the main room, which had a lovely view of a flowery tree in bloom, and chirping birds. There was a nice seabreeze, since it's one block from the water. It was convenient to have two bathrooms, washer/dryer, and three tv's. The area was quiet, and felt safe to go out walking. We really appreciated the bakery and natural food store in town, and the delicious fresh corn and tomatoes from the nearby farmstand. We loved all the big, beautiful lavender plants in everyone's gardens, that I went to the nursery, and bought two plants for myself to bring home. We relaxed at Crescent Beach, and ate at the waterfront snack bar. This house is a twenty-minute drive to Mystic, where we had fun shopping at Mystic Village, and a twenty-minute drive to the Westbrook Tanger Outlet shops, where we also had fun shopping. Overall, we had an excellent time on our vacation, and in this very clean house. The owners were very pleasant, and I would recommend this house for to others.

I go to the Coast Guard Academy and recently stayed here with a few friends after a formal. It was a great location, right near the beach which was perfect. The house was the perfect size for our group, and we were able to sit around and grill and it was a really good time. I'd recommend it.
Owner response:Thanks for the nice review Jim. Michele and I are glad you had an enjoyable stay. We would also like to say that we are very proud of you guys and appreciate your service to our country through such a great organization, the U.S. Coast Guard.

We recently had a death in the family in which we needed a place to stay for eight of us from mid week to midweek. Not only were the Dittner's fantastic in providing us with comfortable accommodations for the odd time of our needs, but also allowed our local family to go into the home prior to our arrival so that they could stock the kitchen with food. We would highly recommend this house for anyone looking for good, clean accommodations and would lease this house ourselves again.

We rented this cottage for 2 weeks in July 2009. The location and place was just what we needed. The house in clean and spacious. We entertained friends and family without feeling crowded. Would definitely consider renting from the Ditter's again. Thanks for one of the most relaxing vacations in quite a few years.

The stay at the house was everything I could ask for. I am a cadet at the United States Coast Guard Academy, and the academy was hosting a formal on one weekend. Myself, three other cadets, and our dates were able to stay at the house for a night without any trouble. The house was comfortable and hospitable, and the beach is right around the corner. The transactions were quick and easy, and contact with the owner was efficient. I plan on renting the house again in the future!

Renting this house was a huge success! The pictures of the house do not do it justice; the house was even cozy and was in great shape. The private beaches close by are more than you could ask for. The house is located in a very welcoming neighborhood and for the area, you could not ask for more value for your dollar. I plan on using the Dittners again if I'm ever in the market. Thank you Mr. and Mrs Dittner.

It’s a two minute walk to the beach from this house in this beautiful town. This was a clean, spacious house with all the amenities. The owners are very nice and were very helpful not only with the renting process, but with information on the sights and sounds of Niantic and the surrounding areas. I highly recommend this house for your spring, summer, or fall vacation.

The house worked out perfectly for our two-family group. It was very well equipped and the yard was great for the kids. With the beach, snack bar, playground and park all within an easy and scenic walk, the kids had a full week of non-stop old-fashioned fun. Thanks for everything and making our week at the beach as easy and enjoyable as possible.

Our family found your house to be very comfortable for our stay in Naintic. There was plenty of room for our group of six adults plus a four year old. The house was immaculate and stocked with everything we needed. It was wonderful to have a dishwasher and washer and dryer. The beds were nice and firm making them very comfortable. We enjoyed grilling, eating and playing in the back yard. We had three cars and there was plenty of room to park them without blocking anyone. The beach was just a short walk. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.

I'm from NY and have friends from Mass. My son and I and her, her husband, teenager daughter and friend, and college-bound son stayed in this charming home. It was clean and comfortable, a quick stroll to the beach, and near plenty of ice cream places (near and dear to my 5yo's heart). Even though it rained for most of the week we were there, the area had plenty to keep us entertained. Plus, with a mixture of good restaurants and grilling,we were well fed for the week. I'd definitely revisit and stay at this lovely house. Nancy, Forest Hills, NY

Our stay at the Dittner's home was wonderful. The home was perfect for four adults and four children. There was enough space and the house was comfortable and clean. It was equipped with everything you would need. The beach was clean and the children enjoyed swimming out to the dock. We would recommend the Dittner's as your host and we would rent their home again. The Dittners are extremely pleasant and wonderful people. It was a pleasure meeting them. PS. Eleni's restaurant was delicious, thanks for the recommendation. Eric, their homemade chocolate chip cookies rock! I did enjoy the egg plant. Thanks
Owner response:Thank you Roxann, for the glowing review. Both Michele and I are very thankful for being blessed with nice families like yours who stay at our beach home.

The house was very clean, with firm beds, a big gas grill, and a very well-equipped kitchen--even a blender--which made eating and sleeping (our favorite vacation activities) very pleasant indeed. A great location--just a stroll to the beach, and to the end of the boardwalk; and a pleasant walk to downtown. Recommend highly.

Our family of 2 adults, 2 teenagers and one preteen stayed at the house in August, 2005. The house was immacuately clean, and had enough space for each of the kids to have their own bedroom. Fans are provided in each bedroom and the kitchen, plus there is a whole house fan to cool off the house at night. The house is only a three minute walk to the beach. All kitchen utensils and dishware are supplied. We also appreciate that there was a washer and dryer for us to do laundry while at the house. The house is also decorated very nicely with a lighthouse motif theme. We enjoyed our stay very much and will probably come back to stay there again at some point.

We found the house to be exactly as advertised; no surprises. It was very clean. The Dittners met us at the house. They are very pleasant. We had a very nice time, the beach is a very easy walk; good to know when you are carrying all of your stuff. The one thing that the house does not have is air conditioning. There is an attic fan, and fans in every room though. Therefore it is only uncomfortable when it is very hot and humid. We had a very nice time and would recommend this house to anyone.

This house was perfectly suited to our small family reunion--us, 3 kids, 2 spouses, 2 grandbabies & great-grandma. The decor is charming and the location was excellent for our excursions. There was space for all of us around the kitchen table, and we liked the outdoor cooking & eating options as well. The Dittners have done a great job of providing amenities for their guests.

I just wanted to share what a wonderful house this is and how it accomodated our family perfectly. Not only did we receive it clean but we were welcomed by a sister in Christ whos graciousness helped us feel comfortable and safe in an unknown area, and that meant alot to us! This home is in a great location for all that the area has to offer. The private beach was that much more enjoyable knowing that it would not get too crowded and is in walking distance. We are hoping to rent ths wonderful place again next year!
Owner response:Thank you Speckman family for the kind words. It is always a joy to us when our guests have such a wonderful stay here and want to return. We look forward to the opportunity to be your hosts again next year. Best Wishes and God Bless, Eric & Michele Dittner
