Location: Fort Bragg, North Coast, California, USA (Cedar Run is North of MacKerricher Park/oceanside of Hwy.1)
Accommodations: House, 2 Bedrooms + No additional sleeping rooms avail, 1.5 Baths (Sleeps 6)
Keywords: All-Cedar Get-Away/Secluded/Private Beach.
Cedar Run is located a few minutes north of Fort Bragg, in the sunbelt, and just 20-minutes north of Mendocino off Highway One (ocean-side). Why pay Mendocino prices for some WIND-swept property that can quite often be foggy, when you can have it all in this secluded, tranquil and sunny setting?
Enjoy all the comforts of home: Full kitchen w/side by side refrigerator, two bedrooms-sleeping six comfortably, 1 flatscreen TV w/DVD player in the livingroom (satellite), and smaller flatscreen upstairs, w/DVD player. A large deck w/Sundance Spa, faces a beautifully tree-lined meadow. This is a great spot for BBQs at the end of the day. We have a dormer loft (sleeps 4) w/attached bathroom, and master bedroom w/attached full bath on main level.
Property offers over 12 private acres for hiking, sunbathing/relaxing, hottubing, or just playing board games/cards on the deck. The kids will love it ~ plenty of room to run, and you don't have to worry about them! On the other hand, you can find the peace and quiet we all seek for stress reduction.
A 30-minute walk to your own private beach is a must; or, a short distance away is Ten-Mile Beach, where you can park right next to the ocean.
In the evening, enjoy the coziness of a wood-burning stove, or the gas wall heater. Curl up with a book, enjoy many of the games/ puzzles provided for your enjoyment, or just watch TV or a DVD for enjoyment.

Why the Owner Chose Fort Bragg
We enjoyed visiting the Mendocino Coast for many years, so when the first opportunity presented itself to purchase a lovely plot of land, we took full advantage. Having Cedar Run built to our specifications, was very rewarding and we've enjoyed the property ever since.
We like sharing this comfortable, all-cedar home with family and friends and offer it for your enjoyment, too!
Your Hosts, Jim and Shirl Gay
The Unique Benefits of this House

We stayed 3 nights at Cedar Run. My husband and children loved the property and walk to the beach. We saw many deer in the morning and took a picnic to the beach. It was even warm enough to roll up our pants and wade in the tide! All in all - Cedar Run is like no other vacation we've ever had. I'm already telling all my family and friends about the place :- ) ~~ Thanks again Jim and Shirl ~~

This home is perfect for a relaxing week away from the Big City. It has privacy but is just a short drive from shopping and restaurants in Fort Bragg and Mendocino. The house itself was very clean and well equipped with everything you'd need from a full kitchen with appliances to WiFi and satellite flat-screen TV with DVD and VHS players. The 4-person hot tub on the deck was a wonderful place to relax after a day of beach combing. It's a short walk over to the sand dunes and historic lumber haul road that will take you down to MacKerricher State Park. It's also just a short drive up to Seaside Beach - my favorite for its starfish (at low tide only) and sand dollars (all the time). The house was well-stocked with firewood, toilet paper, paper towels, and bath towels. Having use of the laundry room (in the separate storage building) was a plus for a longer stay. Thanks to the owners for allowing dogs at this house. Our dog loved his time exploring the grounds off-leash, although it took awhile for him to get used to seeing his reflection in the bedroom mirrored closet doors. We can't wait to stay at Cedar Run again!
Owner response:A lovely thorough review. Nothing we write in the offerings comes close to revealing the enjoyment shared by guests after a week's stay. . . in other words, through new eyes. Thank you for sharing with everyone!

Another amazing Labor Day weekend in Fort Bragg! 2nd year to stay at Cedar Run with our best friends for the Labor Day weekend. Beautiful home with amazing views and sounds. Standing on the deck we can hear the ocean waves crashing on the sand. Peaceful and relaxing. The living room has the most amazing, comfy sofa's!! It's like hanging out in your own home! Sitting in the hot tub each night is a great way to end the day! We can't wait for next year!!

The best way for me to describe Cedar Run is " perfect ". This is our second stay here and we will be back. The cabin is beautiful, roomy, clean and comfortable. The 12 acres of woods are secluded and wonderful to wonder on. The fresh air is a combination of woods mingling with the ocean . I really love that you can often hear the roar of the ocean waves. The walk to the dunes is short, but a walk to the water is further. The cabin is In a great location being just a few minutes north of Fort Bragg. Great beaches, great food and shops a short drive away. Plenty of places in the area to walk my dog. TW's for biscuits and gravy is a must. They have the best , homemade daily , biscuits I have ever tasted. Laurels Deli is a great place for lunch. A little further down the coast is Mendocino, which is a tourists shoppers delight. I would recommend this property to most anyone. It is absolutely perfect. It is well worth the price. It was also really great that the owners were gracious answering any questions I had. Thank you Shirl and Jim for sharing this peace of Heaven with us. I have made some great memories here and will return to make more. (:
Owner response:Donna: Thank you so much for the lovely review. Our guests seem to enjoy the place but no one takes the time to write a review. We truly appreciate the time and kind thoughts that you put into this. Jim & Shirl

We have stayed at this house numerous times. It is absolutely perfect and very comfortable. It's private and quiet. We will definitely be back. It is an amazing place for the kids and/or dogs, or just a nice romantic getaway without being around people.

For years I've suggested a vacation on this coast but never wanted to come because it would be too crowded. We were so happy to find your place w/so much quiet and peace. Now we look forward to when we can come back - please don't change anything. It is really great to have time alone here & still be able to go out to some really nice restaurants. Not always so in some other locations that we've been. Thank you for sharing your retreat with others; what a gift you give.

What a delight! We loved the seclusion ~ the beach~even the walk to the beach was great. "The Restaurant" & the Chinese Buffet provided a couple of the best meals we've experienced this side of San Francisco. Our favorite part of this anniversary celebration was enjoying each other amidst God's natural handiwork. Thanks, Jim & Shirl, for a great time. Entered by Homeowner from Guest Book

Wow, this place is great! It had it all~the beds were comfortable, the flatscreen was great and the hot tub very relaxing. We sorta expected the beach to be a little closer, but could hear it. The beach was cool (and private) with lots of sand dollars. We even found two abalone shells! Thanks so much for letting us use this wonderful cabin. Entered by Homeowner from Guest Book

Well, I must say...this has been a sensational stop on our Spring Break "Bring da ruckus" road trip. The land is gorgeous! We've been mesmerized by it's beauty since we arrived. We've had a ton of sing-alongs, dance parties, "family" breakfasts, and countless one-liners that are pretty righteous. This was one of those incredible experiences that solidified timeless friendships! I'm sad that this blasty-blast is coming to an end.
