Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay at this adorable beach house in Mission Beach. The location was perfect as we were steps from the bay and the beach. We had the best of both worlds. There were so many places to eat within walking distance along with surf shops to rent surf boards. The accomidations were excellent. The house was clean and met all of our needs. The beds were comfortable, the space was just right, and the kitchen had everything we needed for our home cooked meals after a day at the beach. The patio area was enjoyed for many family meals as well. I would highly recommend this place for couples or families looking for a place to stay while enjoying all the attractions of Mission Beach! You really can't get a better location than this!

Family with 2 daughters age 12 and 11 enjoyed our stay. We take several trips to San Diego every year and usually stay at nearby hotels. It was great to have more room and have a fully equipt kitchen. It is close to locals restaurants including our favorite place for breakfast the Mission Inn. Saska's, a locals beach steakhouse for years, is also a couple of blocks away. Everything including grocery stores and landry within walking distance. Catamaran hotel is a couple of blocks away if you want to rent boats or take a cruise on the bay on the hotel paddle wheel. The hotel also has a nice happy hour with drink and food specials where you can sit outside and enjoy the views. Cottage is clean and nicely furnished with everything we needed. Outside area with small yard is also a good place to sit and relax. You are within a few feet of the quieter "Bayside Walk" beach, and a few hundred feet of the more adventurous ocean side boardwalk and of course the crashing waves. Owner Rose was our primary contact and was professional and courteous in our communications. She even provided a picture of the small parking place when I had question as to what size vehicle would fit. We had a great time and look forward to return visits.

Looking forward to a return visit. Living in the Pacific Northwest now, It's great fun traveling to San Diego as a tourist given I was born and raised in Pacific Beach. My wife and I bring our kids to visit their grandparents, and we've stayed in a number of hotels, cottages, and homes. This particular property is perfectly suited for a laid-back Mission Beach vacation. The front lawn and patio, the proximity to both the beach and bay, and the amenities of the home itself will have us coming back for years to come. Thank you, Rose, for making the booking process so simple and for opening up this home to families such as ours.

We enjoyed the cottage and would definitely stay again, you could walk 1 block to the bay and 2 blocks to the ocean and the kids loved it. It had everything a small group needed for an enjoyable stay. It was cutely decorated, well appointed and very clean. Only suggestion is to use the 1st bathroom shower as it worked better then the master shower. Thanks Rose
Owner response:Thank you Sandy for your review, If we were notified during your stay that you had difficulty with the shower in the master we would have promptly fixed it, as we live close by.

This neat little cottage was exactly what we were looking for: close to the beach, practical and super clean, safe and convenient for small children. It is remarkable how well it is designed and furnished. We felt immediately at home and found all we needed to keep the family routine going away from home. That said, it would be fair to mention that the second bedroom and bathroom is walk-through - it was no problem for us as a family but might be for other parties. We enjoyed sitting on the steps outside the living room, playing on the lawn shaded by banana trees, dining outside. We could walk out to the beach at moment's whim. We enjoyed cafes and restaurants at Mission Bay Drive. Unfortunately the closest Ralph's supermarket is not very good and we did not find any other place nearby to buy food for cooking. The owner promptly helped us with all we needed nad made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this place and hope to come back next year.

July 2-9 at this awesome beach house with the grandchildren was full of memories and fun. My daughter kept asking how I found such a great place. She is President of a Moms Playgroup, and will be recommending your property to all. Thank your Frank and Rose for having everything and anything we needed. The photos aid it all, and they were correct. The grandchldren are 1 & 3, so their safety was our number one concern. Your highchair, stroller, kid's buckets, boogie boards, and latching gate we very welcomed. We felt so safe. Went to the ocean and the bay daily. Being a holiday week, the parking place was priceless. We can't wait to come again next year. Thanks again. Ron and Pam Las Vegas, Nevada

I'd never rented a house/beach house before and I was a little nervous. We were in love from the moment we got to the house! Rose thought of everything a family would need for a vacation rental - including the drawer with scissors/pens/post-its. We were so comfortable that we felt like vacation started the moment we got there. The backyard was my 3 yr old sons' favorite feature. My husband and I loved how we didn't have to pack beach toys, chairs, towels, etc. The listing and pictures are accurate and the property was so clean and well-maintained. Rose was always available by phone or email if we had any questions. My family were already asking when we could come back next summer - before our vacation was over! We will definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone wanting a getaway - with or without kids!

The beach cottage was in a great location, close to the ocean, bay and many restaurants. Everything was extremely clean and the kitchen had all the supplies we needed. Having two young children, the yard was so nice to have! Rose was very helpful and replied quickly to any questions we had. I would certainly recommend this property and would love if our family could return for another vacation sometime in the future!

Our two teenage girls fell in love with the cottage and called it "their dream place to live". They roller bladed, rode bikes, swam at the beach and the bay, walked and had a great time.. Lots to do and could walk everywhere...Thanks for a great week..

The beach cottage is a perfect getaway for friends and families alike. It was a needed retreat for my friend and me. We walked the beach, biked around Mission Bay, dined at the many fine restaurants walking distance away, and relaxed on the sunny patio while the hummingbirds fed on the many beautiful flowers around the cottage. Rose is a wonderful host and supplies the cottage with everything and anything you would need. The cottage is meticulous and is decorated as you would expect a beach house to be. We are return guests, so I guess that speaks for itself!

My family rented the house for a week in July for our first family vacation. The house is beautiful and had everything that we needed. Even a pack n play for my daughter. It was so nice to feel like you never left home. The location is perfect. You truly have the best of both worlds with the bay and beach so close to the house. We would walk down to the bay at night and watch the firework show from Sea World. One of the best parts of the house for us was the gated yard with grass, something that is rare in the neighborhood, but a must have with a toddler. My daughter loved playing in the grass with all her toys. I cant express how happy I am that we found this house. This house helped make our first family vacation one that I will remember forever. We have already planned our vacation for next year.
Owner response:Thank you Erin for such a great review! I feel so good that you had a memorable time at my home. All the best, Rose Olvera ;-)

We spent a week of our spring break in this cottage and thoroughly enjoyed it! It was perfect for our family of four. It was our first time renting a place like this for a week without seeing it first, so we were very thankful that it was such a good experience! It was very clean, and we loved the beach decor. :) The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for cooking, and it was great to have the beach towels, chairs & boogie boards for our trips to the beach. It was awesome to be so close to both the ocean and the bay. The bay was great on days when it was a bit breezy, because it was more sheltered and it never seemed to be as busy as the ocean beach; and the sunsets on the ocean were amazingly beautiful to see. It was wonderful to be a 5-minute drive to Sea World and about 20 minutes to the San Diego Zoo. The description and photos of the cottage and location were accurate, and when I emailed Rose with any questions I had, she was very prompt in replying. We would love to stay in this cottage again, if we ever get the chance, and have recommended it to others.
Owner response:Hi Mark & Denise, I just read your input on your stay at my cottage, I just want to say thank you so much for such a great response on your stay. It really means a lot to me that your experience was so good! All the best, Rose Olvera

We loved the location of this home. You could walk a few steps to the bay or a few steps the other way to the beach. We went during Spring break and the noise at night was very minimal. The house was very clean upon our arrival and Rose was very easy to work with. The house was beautifully remodeled and even though it was a small home they used all the space very well! We would highly recommend this home to anyone that wants to getaway, there were a lot of beach accessories that our kids loved using from the shovels, buckets, to the boogie boards and we enjoyed relaxing in the beach chairs provided!!! We hope to rent from Rose again on our next getaway!

Our family vacationed here over President's Day weekend and enjoyed every minute! We have a toddler and being so close to the beach (bay and ocean) was simply fantastic. So much thought was put into supplies/toys for visitors from out of town. We didn't need to bring anything from home. (They even have a Graco Pack-n-Play for young families.) Will definitely visit again!

Our family stayed here for the month of December. We had a wonderful time and it was so relaxing. We walked or biked on the boardwalk (100 steps) or the bay (50 steps)every day. Enjoyed the beautiful sunsets over the bay. The location was excellent and the house was absolutely perfect. The kitchen is completely set up and we cooked most of our meals here without any trouble. We hope to come back soon.

Incredibly cute place; wonderful location; and tastefully and thoughtfully furnished and maintained, with all of the equipment and utinsels you will ever need even if you bring nothing from home. You can walk to the beautiful ocean or bay beaches even without putting on your shoes if you want. A very cute and charming place to stay in an excellent location.
