Looking for a quiet, yet fun getaway? This is the place to be with tons of activities and possibilities. In the winter you can go to any of the nearby ski resorts such as: Sugar Bowl, Boreal, and Squaw Valley. Have kids? They can play in the snow on the large deck, or even create a sled hill on the side of the house. In the summer, you can bring your boat or jet skis and tie it up to the pier. Have more than one boat? Tie up the boat on our buoy located just out from the pier.
There are many trails nearby where you can take a hike, or even go for a horseback ride. Fishing is great on Donner, you can catch a couple off of the dock each day by just throwing out a line with a worm or some power bait, you can even use a lure from shore. For all who love to gamble, Reno is just a half hour away where there are many casinos. Many golf attractions are nearby as well. For those who are just looking for a quiet getaway, you can make a nice fire in one of the outside chimneys or in the expansive fire place inside. Don't forget about heating up the hot tub and sitting in the snow or in the sun.

The house layout is as follows:
Upstairs - 1 bedroom with Queen bed, 1 bathroom, Family/Living Room dining table, TV, fireplace, and Kitchen. There is a deck at this level that also has stairs down to the lower back deck where the hot tub and dock are located. You access the house at this level from the road.
Downstairs - 2 bedrooms with Queen beds, Bunk room with 2 sets of bunk beds, 1 bathroom, 1 laundry room. The 2 bedrooms have sliding doors to access the lower deck with hot tub and access to the dock.

We bought this wonderful property based upon it being on the lake and on the sunny side of Donner Lake. The sunny side of Donner Lake also provides easier access during the winter months.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Sitting out on large deck enjoying the scenery, wildlife, quiet times, boating and swimming in the clear clean lake. There is a professionally cleaned hot tub located in the same large deck that is situated to enjoy the lake while still maintaining privacy.
Great lil store that is open til about 8 pm. The restaurant behind is awesome and serves a great breakfast.

My parents and family stayed at this property end July 2011 and had a wonderful time. The house had plenty of bedrooms and a great lower deck. We tied a boat to the deck and enjoyed fishing and boating all week. The owner was very helpful in handling misc requests as they came up. We will definitely be back.

I've been to this cabin a few times with friends and with my girlfriend during the winter and spring seasons...the views are breath taking and the layout lends itself perefectly for having a large group. The rear patios provides a prefect 180 degree view of the lake and the jacuzzi is very accessable from two of the bedrooms and the main and the living room area. It's easy and enjoyable to lounge outside or indoors with more then enough space to accommodate a large group or have it cozy for two. It's a trek to walk into town, but you do get to see some interesting things and enjoy the outdoors. I've walked, drove and biked into and out of town...so it's easy enough to do. However, there is nothing like just staying in the cabin, cozying up by the fire listening to music or reading a book and getting to see that beautiful view. I just recommend going to the grocery store and stocking up with the essentials, so you just never have to leave for the time you are there.

The property was better than the description, the house was clean and stocked with everything we needed. The owner answered all of our questions and was very helpful. We had four parents, four kids, a baby, one mother in law and a lab. There was plenty of room for all and the view in the morning was worth getting up early to see. The location was great as well. We were close to Sugar Bowl, Tahoe-Donner and downtown Truckee.

We gathered for a family reunion at this lake front house. It was comfortable for the 5 couples & one black labrador. Being able to tie up our sailboat right at our dock was great. The full moon reflected on the lake from the deck was marvelous. The house was clean and fairly well maintained. The owner was very responsive to the minor problems we had with the property. Donner Lake is one of our favorite places. We will definately rent here again.

What an incredible view! The photos on the site don't do it justice. The house is well designed and worked perfectly for our families. Adults could linger over dinner while the kids played in the bunkroom. The beds are comfortable and kitchen well appointed. Of course, the hot tub on the lake on a starlit night was perfection. We plan to be here again!

This was the perfect cabin for our group of 9 adults. The house was well kept, cosy, and comfortable. Worth noting: one of the bunk beds in the bunk room is a pyramid bed, with a full sized lower bunk comfortable for sleeping two. The warm fuzzy sheets were also quite popular with our group! The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies, and the large dining room table meant we could eat meals at the cabin while enjoying the amazing view. The owner was nice and quite responsive, which, combined with the high quality and reasonable price of the cabin, means we'll definitely be looking to rent this fantastic place again in the future.

Wonderful, Wonderful place. We (2 families with kids) stayed there over New Years (2008-2009) and had a blast. The place is wonderful. Spa on the deck is a definite bonus. The drop-dead-gorgeous view from the living room alone makes worth while to stay there. The place is well maintained and very well organized. Even though it is seems to be located right on the road - the house is VERY quiet. The owner is very responsive and replied to our e-mails and tel. calls promptly. When we arrived - we find out that we do not have any laundry or dish washing liquids. The very next a guy showed up at our door steps and delivered everything without even us asking/bothering the owner. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

Comfortable home right next to the water on Donner Lake. Beautiful view of the lake and sunrise. We stayed during the winter, but would be a wonderful place to stay during the summer with private access to the lake. Bedrooms were nicely decorated with one special bedroom for the kids. Enough space for the adults to enjoy some quiet time upstairs while the kids played downstairs or outside on the deck.
