We stayed at Changing Tides for 3 nights. We had a wedding to attend at Alderbrook and didn't want to stay at yet another hotel, so we opted for a little family time. The house is just a pictured, it's small and cozy. Our first day there the tide was really far out so we went for a walk, Beware, the ground is so soft. Our first few steps out we sunk all the way down to our knees. We kept pushing through and made it to some harder land. We took about an hour and a half long walk the first day. We roasted smore's by the wooden fire pit outside, lite some fireworks that you can buy right down the street from the Indian Reservation, and watch 4 Bald Eagles fly above the house. As the tide came back in we were greeted by 4 seals for most of the evening. The next morning we awoke and when the tide was out once again, we were greeted by a cluster or fresh Oysters. Our dog enjoyed it as much as we did, I couldn't keep her out of the water and normally she hates water. The house to the left is vacant and so is the house to the right, it seemed we were the only one's in the little area. There is not much to do, unless you drive 30 minutes to Belfair. We brought all our own food and only went to a little antique shop will there and it was just fine by us. We had such a good time with just our little family.

Owner very helpful. Rental was as advertised. Well cleaned and stocked. Because of "Mother Nature", the views of the Hood Canal and the Olympic Mountains were limited but we did see an abundance of wild life in and on the estuary. We will definitely come back for another stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this delightful little cabin. The view was amazing! Right on the water, with our own little family of seals playing out front. Lot's of heron and eagles also. Well stocked kitchen, lots of extra bedding (super comfy bed also). Great starting point for exporing Hood Canal. Would definately recommend this one. Keep in mind, if your looking for something fancy, this might not be for you. The pictures in the ad are very much what you get. Loved it!!

Cabin was exactly like the description written on VBRO (which we appreciated). Cute, funky place with lots of interesting decorations to look at. The photos listed were accurateand the cabin was very clean. LOVED all the wildlife along with the scenic view. We saw eagles feeding on salmon and a momma eagle teaching her baby how to feed. Only negatives were the abandoned/falling down cabins on either side of us and no screens on the windows to open for air (it was hot). Would have liked to be able to leave the sliding glass door open while sleeping, but there was no screen door. Deck had a short railing and areas where there was no railing, so would not recommend the place for small children.

Owner response: That's a great point, Patti. Our old railing system was a Darwin-isque challenge for small kids! We have upgraded and replaced the old railing with a kid-friendly current code railing system. We also built a set of stairs down to the water so guests have better access. Thanks for your comment...Art and Roni

I'm so glad we got to spend the weekend at your beautiful, cozy beach house. The first night we drank a bottle of wine on the deck and watched all the amazing wildlife in action. We couldn't believe how close the seals were swimming to the property! The sunsets were amazing...even though it was semi-cloudy most of the nights, the reflection on the water and all the different colors were still gorgeous! I also have never seen so many trees in my life....the national forest was awesome to drive through and explore. Thank you so much for sharing your tiny piece of heaven with us.....I wouldn't hesitate to come back!!

My wife and I needed a quiet getaway and tried Changing Tides. What a nice, clean, comfortable place! We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet, the sunny deck, all the animals and an enjoyable dinner at the Robin Hood. We will certainly consider coming back to Changing Tides and recommend it to anyone looking a getaway.

My girlfriend Emily and our two dogs Charlie and Stella stayed at Changing Tides for three days and three nights and had a wonderful experience. We were fortunate to have received beautiful sunshine and a clear view of the Olympic mountains throughout most of our stay, but it was the cleanliness, functionality, and location of the property itself, and the complete professionalism of the owners that made our stay a great one. We will be back.

We never expected so much sunshine! We did everything from sitting in the dark listening to music to walking on the tide flats in our rubber boots to drinking wine on the deck admiring the sunset. Even as we are about to step out the door, back to our regular lives, I can't stop looking at the view of the Olympics. Thank you for sharing this special hidden place with us on Valentines Day weekend. What a treat!
