This is a single story home built in the 1950's in the heart of Redding, California. Architecturally designed master piece includes vaulted ceilings with redwood beams and paneling throughout as well as built-in wood burning brick fireplaces. The estate like backyard has 100+ year old oak trees towering over a brand new 2400square foot multi-level redwood deck, big lawns, a black bottom swimming pool, mature landscaping and night lighting throughout.
The home is on over one acre and has a large black top parking area and the ability to accommodate many vehicles. There is a huge covered patio next to the kitchen which is ideal for outside dining, a gas BBQ and the pool area has lots of outdoor furniture and a wysteria covered trellis for guests summer enjoyment. Cool weather renters get to enjoy both a kitchen and living room wood burning fireplace.
Property includes detached guest house with sleeper sofa and two twin beds and bathroom which is optional for an additional $125/night. Weekly and monthly rentals are ideal!!

Year Purchased: 1954
Property owners Steve, Andy and Charlie Main grew up in this house. Their parents Bill and Rocky built the house in 1954. All of the interior surfaces are clear redwood - a tribute to Bills love of beautiful wood and his career in the lumber industry. We love to be at the house and sit in the gardens, by the swimming pool or around the fire places in winter. The property has an absolute serenity for all who come to visit. Steve is a teacher, Andy owns an Internet business and Charlie is a building contractor. The three of them love spending time working in the garden and taking care of general upkeep of the house.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Very close to Sundial Bridge, Bethel Church and shopping malls. Nice Italian restaurant less than a mile away. Across the street from Sacramento River and near Cypress street Bridge. Large field behind house assures quiet and privacy. Raley's supermarket less than 1 mile away.

We had a delightful stay at this lovely estate! The owners were very helpful in accommodating our needs. The house was perfect for our group, and the grounds were just beautiful! We loved sitting on the deck sipping coffee, watching the birds, and feeling the cool breeze. It was such a treat to stay here, and we know others will enjoy their stay and this lovely place as well.

This felt like a home away from home. The yard is so secluded and there are plenty of things to keep children busy. We were in town for a family reunion at a local park. The reunion ended but some of us still wanted to chat, so we ordered pizza, came back to the house and hung out on the huge back patio for a couple more hours. Great memories! I would absolutely recommend this home to any of my friends or family.

We had such a great time at this house. The pool, the BBQ, the back yard, the basketball hoop, not to mention the house itself. Planning on staying there again and again!

The property exceeded our expectations. This was a celebration involving 4 families/11 people and there was something for everyone from a 5 year old to an 80 year old. The property was actually better than the photos. Very clean, spacious and comfortable and the extra building with beds for 4 was a great bonus. The decks and the grassy area were great and the pool was wonderful. We would definately come back - in fact once we got there, we didn't want to leave our weekend "bubble"

We are so happy we chose this home to rent for our vacation in Redding! We were in town for a long weekend to attend a wedding. This home was perfect for our needs! First of all, it is a beautiful, unique home. There are so many cool personal touches and visual interest in the art and furnishings that we wished we knew the family that owns it! We certainly felt right at home. The kitchen was fully stocked and we were quite comfortable preparing all of our meals and "eating in" while we were there. There is a nice grocery store a short drive away. The location was very convenient, and we soon were able to find our way around town as if we lived there. We enjoyed a morning walk with our dog in the beautiful, quiet neighborhood each day. We had a flock of turkeys stroll across the patio one morning, much to our delight. The pool was cold but the kids still jumped in! The yard and outside areas are stunning, to say the least! This home is spacious but the outdoor areas truly extend the living space. Our dog was happy in the house, but the yard is not fully fenced. We took full advantage of the two fireplaces and cozied up with fires while we were there. The owners are very friendly and easy to communicate with. We had extended family over for a meal the day after the wedding, and everyone was impressed with the house. A "local" even asked us for rental contact info for a possible future space for a church retreat. There is a baby grand piano, games, books, and all the comforts of home. We are so pleased with this house and highly recommend it. We would like to come back in the summer months and enjoy it again.
Owner response:We are very pleased to know that these guest had such a wodnerful time! Future renters are advised that dogs are only allowed with additional security deposits. In general we do not allow pets - but sometimes are willing to make accomodations with additional security deposits.

We stayed in this beautiful home in early June while visiting for a family wedding at the Sundial Bridge. The house was perfect for our party of 3 families. The house was well equipped with 4 bedrooms and 2 baths in the main house and a very large guest house with separate bath. The home is all single level with hallways and decks easily negotiated by an elderly family member using a walker. Although the house is listed as handicap accessible, there are no handicap accessible showering facilities in the house. We enjoyed dining outside on the large deck and found the kitchen well equipped for serving our large group. The pool area was beautiful. Everyone enjoyed the black bottom pool and diving board. The house is located only minutes from major shopping and restaurants, but backs up against a large field, so it feels like you're staying in the countryside. I would recommend this home without hesitation. We had a wonderful stay. We would definitely rent here again.
