I have stayed in several cabins in Maggie Valley. All have been nice - but - we have truly found the cabin we will always return to. The pictures spoke well of the cabin on VRBO, but, it was the owners attentiveness and responsiveness that sold us on our decision to stay here. The cabin is simply gorgeous and much better than the photos show (though, the photos do a very good job in accurately showing what you will see). The cabin is very well laid out, to where there was more than sufficient room for my wife and I, and our three little ones to spread out. Everything we needed, aside from our personal effects, was there, neat, clean and well organized. Everything worked as it should and there was no guessing on how to work anything. The bedding was comfortable throughout the house and the linens were clean, fresh and plentiful. The front and back yard proved VERY child friendly, and allowed for plenty of room for the little ones to run around and play outside. The garage proved an added bonus - no scraping ice or thawing out the mini van. And the location was adequately surprising, too. While I thought not being right within Maggie Valley, the country setting proved so peaceful and relaxing. My morning runs consisted of running alongside meadows with horses and cows. My youngest loved being in the jogging stroller and stopping to spend some time with the animals along the way. And Maggie Valley - yeah - 7 minutes up the road. What I thought would be my only hesitation proved to be just an added, albeit an unexpected, bonus. I cannot find one thing to complain about the cabin or the dealings with the owner. Everything- every bit of it - is wonderful, pleasant and hospitable. We are already planning our next trip up there and fully intend to stay at this very same cabin. It's not a matter of 'if' we will return, but, rather a matter of 'when' we will return.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you so much for this wonderful review. Words cannot tell express how much this means to me. Very thoughtful and kind. Our time is one of our most valuable resources and the fact you spent some of yours to create this is greatly appreciated. Regards, Teri Merritt

We have been here 3 times and look forward to returning many more. The house is beautifully decorated, conveniently located and offers tons of fun without even leaving the property. Some of our best memories are of relaxing in the hot tub, foosball competitions, roasting marshmellows over the outdoor fire pit, and seeing the elk at Cataloochee National Forest.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Went to this magnificent log cabin home for a Mother-Daughter Retreat and had the best time. The cabin is just gorgeous!!! It was beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean. Loved the room upstairs where we read and had our morning coffee. So much to do at the cabin and around the Waynesville area. Here's a list of some of the wonderful things to do nearby: Tubing at Deep Creek, horseback riding at Cataloochee Ranch, downtown Waynesville, and Cherokee.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

What an absolutely beautiful home! It is a marvelous combination of nature, beauty, and comfort. Our family especially enjoyed the game room. We also loved swinging on the front porch and making smores over the fire pit. Also, downtown Waynesville was very charming! We will cherish the memories of our time here.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Our family had an excellent time at Shadow Ridge. What an AWESOME cabin----it is so spacious, clean and comfortable!! We all loved the downstairs gameroom and hot tub! The house was beautifully decorated and had quality furnishings. We had as much fun around the house as we did on our daily excursions. We also loved the peace and quiet. No one wanted to leave this mountain home and we hope to return soon.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Teri, What a wonderful property! This home is gorgeous! There were surprises in nearly every room! We went to the area to attend a family reunion in Waynesville. It was so easy to get to this cabin and very easy access to both Maggie Valley and Waynesville. We had an awesome time! The bedroom in the lower level, we called it the Bear Den, it was so incredibly cute!! And the "stars" were a real surprise! We had everything we needed!! The hot tub did take several hours to heat, but it added the perfect ending to a long day of visiting with family and walking the arts/crafts show at the Festival grounds. I haven't been to the mountains in many years, but now, I am not really sure why not.... We have family property in Sunset Beach, NC and tend to spend our "free time" there, but our time in the mountains reminded me how much I love the fresh air, twisting/winding roads, and beautiful scenery. My husband and I talked about how much we enjoyed your home all the way home!! We hope to return to your cabin soon!!! Thank you, again! We highly recommend your home!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

I expected your ordinary cookie cutter cabin but boy was I shocked. This is a very upscale custom cabin. I can appreciate the custom work in this home. It sits on a nice private knoll but is easy to get to and convenient to Waynesville and Maggie Valley. The cabin is large but has a great comfortable feel to it. There are pleasing mountain and pastoral views from the front and back porches. I just made my reservation for the same time next year !!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Why the Owner Chose Maggie Valley:
I chose this cabin due to the location. My family used to vacation here when I was a child. It is the perfect place for everyone regardless of age to enjoy the beautiful mountains and create lasting memories.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The cabin is so warm and cozy with warm wood throughout and minimal sheetrock. The wood burning fireplace is nice to share family moments in front of. The gameroom, with the gas fireplace, shuffleboard table and foosball table, make for fun evenings at home.
