Our beautiful French house and private carp lake is now available for the ultimate CARP FISHING holiday in France.
Without a doubt one of the nicest fishing locations in France, offering not only exclusive private carp fishing, but also luxury accommodation for up to six people. The house and lake are set on a mature, private estate, in nine acres, in the Charante/Limousin region of France. Its a very peaceful setting but near to all amenities.
In October 2002 the lake was heavily stocked with just under a ton of carp which were delivered by a local French fish farmer. This included a fine array of medium, and large specimen carp, lots of doubles, twenties, thirties, and a couple of fourties.
In March 2003 we added another selection of carp, all in their high thirties to 39.4 lbs to the lake. All these fish were added to supplement the existing fish stock. We have a good head of grass carp in the lake, and although harder to catch, can be real fighters!
We also have a couple of large cat fish at 42 pounds and just over 52 pounds.(Weights when added in 2002) In 2005 they came out at 57lbs and 65lbs.
The lake has rarely been fished since it was constructed over 38 years ago. It was built as a personal pleasure for the previous owner whose passion was private carp fishing. He built the lake and the house to his own specification. In his time he built over 60 lakes in this area of France.
The lake is located in a small valley area and fed by an oxygen-rich stream. A small rowing boat is available for your use for bait placement or fishing. Carp pellets are also available for purchase.
Etang de Cosse house is a delightful south-facing property built to the highest standards. It was constructed at the same time as the lake and the grounds were set out. It is very close to the lakeside but conveniently hidden, to ensure those fishing are not disturbed. The house has been furnished to a high standard for your enjoyment.
There is a large comfortable lounge with an open fireplace and a separate dining area which seats up to eight. We have UK digital TV avaiable for your use. Two sets of French doors lead from the lounge directly onto the south facing patio. There are 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom available. A large bathroom provides a bath, separate shower cubicle, 2 washbasins and WC. A seperate WC and washbasin are also available.
This is a large south-facing patio, which is a great place to relax and BBQ on. From this terrace you have great views over the lake. There is a 5.5 metre cedar wood pool available for your enjoyment.
Down by the lake you will find a second smaller terrace with patio furniture for your use. This is a great spot to watch the carp fishing action whilst enjoying a sundowner.
The gardens are mainly grass and well maintained. We go to great lengths to ensure that your comfort is fully met. The house has full central heating, making it a great place for a carp fishing holiday in France, at any time of year.
Only a few minutes drive from the property is a busy and lively market town, with good shops, restaurants, and bars. It is still a relatively unspoiled area of France and the locals are very friendly and helpful. There is a tourist office in the Market Square in Saint Junien.
Its a great complex for that special ' carp fishing holiday ' as it suits fisherman, who perhaps don't want to drive and survive, families, in-laws, wives and girl friends. Everyone will find something to keep them happy.
