If you are looking for a Rustic Retreat get-a-way in the NC mountains, we've got just the place for you! This newer log cabin home has all the modern luxuries of home, but gives you the feeling of being in your private mountain retreat!
Located in McDowell County, approx. 10 miles south of the town of Marion, NC. It is situated below I-40 just off of Hwy 226 South. The cabin is in the gated log home community of Hidden Lake.
All rooms are located on the main level of the home, with just the loft on the 2nd level. There is a ramp leading to the front door of the cabin, making access easy for everyone. There is seating on the front porch for those wishing to enjoy the outdoors.
Once inside, you enter the large great room, dining area, and kitchen. All brand new major appliances are in the kitchen, which is well stocked with all the cookware & glassware you will need. A beautiful log dining table, chairs & bench offer seating for at least 7. In the living room there is a large sofa (which has a pullout bed), love seat and TV with DirecTV service, DVD's and VHS tapes. A gas log fireplace finishes out the room.
The Master bedroom also has a TV, arm chair, and opens out to a cozy screened-in porch. The Master bath is accessible from the Master bedroom and features a walk-in shower, single vanity sink, toilet, jetted tub, and a stackable washer & dryer hidden in the corner. Doorways to the Master bedroom and bath are wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs.
The other 2 bedrooms are located on the opposite side of the home with the guest bath in the middle of them. That bath features a tub/shower combo, with single vanity sink & toilet. All bedrooms have ceiling fans.
A circular staircase leads up to the 2nd level loft. Here you will find a combo game table with pool & air hockey, which is just great for the kids - or those young at heart! A futon is located here for additional sleeping, along with other games & books. There is a very cute log table & chair set here too that overlooks the living area below.
On the back deck is a propane grill, with a table and chairs for dining outside. Nice long-range mountain views are more prominent during the winter months from here.
Guests staying in this Rustic Retreat also have access to the community common areas featuring a small 10-acre fishing lake (swimming not allowed in the lake). If you have a small canoe or kayak, you are welcome to bring that with you (as there are none to rent) and use it in the lake. There is a playset with swings and a slide also at this area. Fishing is catch & release only.
There are also picnic tables & grills in this area for your use. Sitting above the lake is the seasonal in-ground pool and a poolhouse with bathroom & shower facilities. Other common areas include a streamside park with more picnic tables, grills & a horseshoe pit. And there are some nature walking trails as well.
A starter supply of paper products, dish & laundry detergents is provided. We regret that we are unable to accept pets of any type. This is also a non-smoking residence.

- No Pets Allowed : We regret that pets of any type are not allowed. Any evidence of pets having been in the home will result in forfeiture of your entire security deposit.
- Handicapped Accessible (may have limitations) : All rooms on main level, ramp to front door, extra wide doorways within home, grab bars for master bathroom toilet area. Home does not have a roll-in shower or grab bars for shower area.
