“Skyline” is certainly the perfect name for this beautiful place. We had clouds right off the front porch one morning. Thought sure I heard Julie Andrews singing the “hills are alive with the sound of music” as we gazed across the top of the distant mountains!! Super clean, cute cabin with those extra touches of grace you won't find in a hotel room. Great hosts that made our stay most enjoyable. No wonder this is such a popular place.

We stayed 3 nights at this quaint mountaintop cabin and loved every minute of it. The interior pictures were exactly how the cabin looked except for the easter decorations. The view was incredible. We enjoyed watching the misty fog rise up from the valley following an afternoon thunderstorm. We also enjoyed fishing the Hiawassee river at the bottom of the mountain. Thanks to Judy for all your help and we are so glad that 3rd night was available to extend our stay. We'll be back!!

We stayed in this cozy cabin New Years Eve weekend. It was the 10 year anniversary of our meeting and we wanted a special place to spend this time. It was all we wished for and more. The first thing you will notice when you arrive at the cabin is how clean and how much detail is given to making your stay special. It was still decorated for Christmas which was a nice surprise. We had a fire the in the fireplace every night. The view is spectacular! The king bed was very comfortable and both bathrooms were clean and a good size. We especially enjoyed the restaurant menus left for our review and had some very good meals. This was one of the most memorable places we've stayed from VRBO and hope to return soon. Judy was very helpful and friendly to deal with. This place is GREAT.
Owner response:Hello Randall and Teri: Thank you so much for the lovely review--we do appreciate your input which is so valuable to us! Have a wonderful new year and we look forward to your visit in February! Thank you both again, Judy Hays A Skyline Ridge Cabin Rental in Hiawassee, Ga.

I brought my family to celebrate our Christmas in a traditional Christmas setting. We were overwhelmed by the beautiful cabin. It was peaceful and tranquil. It was everything we wanted. Cozy. We had a toasty fire every night in the fireplace. We absolutely loved it and hope to visit again. Thank you Judy and Family.
Owner response:Hi Cindy: I just received a notification from HomeAway that there was a new review on our cabin. What a wonderful review you gave us....thank you so much. My prayer before you entered the cabin that day was that the Lord would bring you closer as a family, your family bonds would become stronger and that you would carry memories in your hearts forever! I am so glad that you and your family enjoyed your Christmas holiday in the cabin this year! It was fun to get notes from you from time to time and exchange ideas and information on how to make your visit fun for the whole family. Your correspondence with me has created a friendly bond that I hope continues into the future! We look forward to your possible return to our beautiful mountains! I wish you a wonderful 2012! Hi Judy, What an awesome time we had this past weekend (Dec. 2-5, 2011) in your beautiful cabin! I really didn't know what to expect coming up that mountain in the wee hours of the morning, but when it opened up to where your cabin is located, I knew we were going to enjoy our stay here! And when we opened the front door - the view was absolutely breathtaking!! Even my 16-year old daughter was impressed (and that is hard to do). It had such a nice, quiet and reflective atmosphere, that no one really wanted to leave the cabin to go into town, although we had tickets for the Christmas Tour of Homes and other scheduled festivities. We did manage to pull ourselves away to watch the Mayor's Christmas parade, visit Ingles to stock up, and to eat at the family-style Mexican restaurant (one of the many selections you so graciously made available for our review). Thank you and your husband for making this such an enjoyable experience; you guys really did think of everything. (We didn't even need half the things we brought along to "kill time," because all necessities and amenities, and then some, were provided.) I hope to visit every season until I get tired of the view - which I doubt will ever happen. May God continue to bless your endeavors to "share your [spectacular] view with the world."

Our visit was so much better then we could have imagined. The location was secluded, romantic and beautiful. It was like taking a glimpse into heaven. Judy thought of everything and then some. Our dog Sammy really enjoyed the treats she even left for him. The fall colors were breathtaking. We can't wait to visit again. Carolyn and Steve 10/2011

I want to personally thank Judy and Bradley for allowing us to spend a week in their wonderful cabin. It was the cleanest cabin with the most fabulous view we had ever seen. When the clouds floated down to meet the mountain tops, we thought we had been ascended to the heavens. Being that it was at the very end of the road, it was so incredibly quiet for us. We enjoyed every minute. If you want a quite, clean, well decorated new cabin with all the amenities, you have chosen the right one. Judy and Bradley, it was a pleasure meeting you both and we will see you again. And I hope it was ok writing 4 pages in your book about all that we did while there. Thank you so much,
Owner response:Thank you, Carmella for your wonderful review, we do appreciate your coming to the cabin. It was so nice to meet and talk with you all. Unlike some mountain property manager/owners, Judy was very easy to work with as we communicated back and forth (others can be a bit "haughty"). The cabin has an A+ view of the mountains, valley and stars at night. It is very tastefully decorated. It is not far from Hiawasse at all and we even drove to Highlands for one day over the Memorial Day holiday. It's very quaint and clean, but just needs one or two more bells and whistles to make it the "perfect" get-a-way. We mentioned them to Judy and she might want to consider adding them -- even though "hot tubs" can be a pain to take care of !
Owner response:Thank you, Chuck, for a great review, we do appreciate it. We cannot do the tub due to being on a community well---the feeling that it can be a pain to take care of came from a multitasking manager of several properties---the draining and refilling of the tub for every client would far outweigh the ability of our community well to cope with. Sorry! Looking into hammock though! Oh, I added a FAQ to the binder in the cabin which addresses these "why don't you have..." questions. Thanks again! We were blown away by the beauty of the cabin and the view! Judy did such a great job making it a welcoming place to come to after a day of shopping Mt.Helen, fishing, hiking and a Blue Ridge train ride.Judy was very helpful and the cabin had everything we needed for our stay.Just bring your food and clothes.Lots of games and movies if you don't bring your own. Many things to do in the area. The town of Hiawassee is really a nice little town with everything you may need.Nice restaurants, grocery stores and shops. A great little place to fish is the river that runs under the bridge, when you turn off the highway to go up to the cabin. We spent our first day there with a lunch and had a great time fishing. The cabin was very clean and well stocked with shampoo, soap, towels etc.We would love to spend more time there in the future and would recommend it highly to friends and family!Thank you,Bradley and Judy
Owner response:Hello Doreen: Thank you so much for a terrific review of your stay with us! We enjoyed having you here. Your son made history here---just think, he may be a world class fisherman in years to come! Come back soon! Judy Hays A Skyline Ridge Cabin Rental VRBO 205554

This is a very nice cabin with wonderful owners who go out of their way to make your stay exceptional. My wife and I have rented cabins in north Georgia 2 times before and this was our best experience by far. The view is just gorgeous. As my wife and I sat for dinner on our first day I had the front window to my right and the back window to my left, the fall colors were just breathtaking. I mentioned to my wife that I feel like I’m sitting in the middle of a beautiful fall painting. If you are looking to explore the area there are a lot of things to do or if you are looking for a relaxing vacation this is the cabin for you. We would like to thank Judy & Bradley for the awesome time. We will see you again! Steve & Linda

If you are looking for solitude and pure mountain beauty this is the place. We spent 5 great days and nights there in October and it was awesome. The only sounds you hear come from nature and sitting on the back porch looking at miles and miles of beautiful mountains is breath taking. If you want to party you better take it with you because there is nothing at the cabin except modern facilities and natural beauty. The cabin is spotless with a great kitchen, king size bed and space for 6 or 7 others upstairs and in the den. Two baths, a twenty foot stone fireplace, and great sitting areas, large back porch, cable tv and a good selection of table games.books, and movies. Very reasonably priced.

This is a great place to go. It's small cabin way off the road, but still within 15 minutes of a big grocery store, in case you get a yearning for ice cream while looking at the beautiful views off of the back porch. We went for birding (and saw lots of warblers, in addition to other birds), and loved being able to come back to this cabin to relax. We also saw Jupiter's moons (the stars were in alignment that night : ) with our birding scope; again from the back porch. No city lights, no cars, no noise (except for owls hooting); complete silence. It was heavenly. We left the windows open (this in Sept in Georiga in unheard of, in terms of heat), and felt safe and very much at home. The fact that Judy didn't charge a cleaning fee made it even better. It's a great getaway place. Leave your computers (we brought two, and never touched them), and just enjoy the peace.

This cabin is the complete package. The owners have really gone out of their way to make their guests comfortable. Ultra clean cabin and the view is just remarkable. We stayed 12-15 July 2010 and had a great time in the local area. This place is an easy 15 minute drive to Hiawassee, 30 minutes to Helen, and about 45 minutes to Clayton. Easy 30 minute drive into NC from the cabin. Excellent places to eat and shop in the surrounding area. Numerous waterfalls to see and trails to hike. We love this area and will return. Judy and Bradley Hays have a gem of a place. Would highly recommend this cabin. All the photos of the cabin and the surrounding area are very accurate.

If I had known that I could've left a comment, I would have done so much earlier! The cabin is wonderful, and the view is stunning. The pictures simply cannot capture the feeling you get when you walk through the front door and see the mountains for the first time through the big window in the living room. It's amazing! Mr. & Mrs. Hays are also wonderful hosts who have gone the extra mile to make my stays there enjoyable. I visited three times in 2009, and am planning on going again in 2010, Lord willing. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone who is looking for a peaceful getaway with a spectacular view. Feel free to email me if you have questions!
