This beautifully appointed home embraces you from the moment you enter the property. The front and rear gardens are wrapped in lush fuchsia bougainvillea. The terraces and patios are filled with flowering plants. Look no further, this charming home is perfect for the DISCRIMINATING traveler.
Once you enter the home through the hand-carved mahagony front doors you see the magnificent "Boveda" ceilings. These magnificent domed brick ceilings are works of art created by old masters.
The inviting master bedroom has a king-size bed and gas fireplace. Enjoy a spacious 20x20 patio, off of the master bedroom, with a lovely Cantera Stone fountain. A comfy lounge and wrought iron table and chairs invite you to dine al fresco. A TV and DVD are enclosed in the armoire. The master bath area has Talavera double sinks and the tub/shower area has a large stained glass window which provides views of the patio and it's lush foliage.
The soothing main guest room has a queen-size bed, flat screen TV & DVD, gas fireplace, and beautiful views of the rear garden area. This garden bath feels like a spa getaway and is just lovely. The office/study has a twin bed with desk and sitting area. There is a spectacular view of the breathtaking front garden and its statuary from this delightful and airy room.
The renovated kitchen makes meal preparation a pleasure. There is a stone gas fireplace which you can enjoy on cool mornings. Antique doors, above the opera balcony, open from the kitchen and provide a view of the front garden. The beautiful custom wooden cabinetry in the kitchen creates a feeling of warmth and elegance. We have purified water in the kitchen which feeds to the ice maker. You will love this kitchen!
The dining room and living room are appointed with very beautiful and comfortable furnishings. The library contains a variety of literature. The armoire in the living room houses satellite TV and DVD/VCR unit. The covered patio, just off of the living room, has seating for six. Dine outside all year round, with views to the countryside, or just relax and listen to the church bells ringing from the City below.
Up the spiral staircase we have our very special sun terrace where you can capture spectacular views of the entire city. Enjoy the beauty of the surrounding countryside and the Sierra Madre Mountains and magnificent sunsets. Two comfy lounges and seating for six are located on the sun terrace. There is an old mission bell hanging in one of the brick arches to announce the beginning of Happy Hour.
Our home has been furnished and decorated by us with loving care and attention to detail. You will find our home to definitely be a "CUT ABOVE". It is a brisk 10 minute walk into the heart of town. We have a maid/cook and a gardener that come six days a week and will provide you with very attentive service and devotion. Their smiles and the eagerness to please await you. We can arrange for your pick-up with our chauffeur if you so desire. Come on down and enjoy the good life!!

Why the Owner Chose Balcones
The area that we live in is called Los Balcones. It is perched above the city to the East over looking the charming cityscape with it's church steeples and domes and the Sierra Madre Mountains on the Western horizon. This area is a quiet and exclusive neighborhood which is completely built out now. You can enjoy the rythym of the city and then return to a place of beauty and tranquility. Our gardens provide a sanctuary for us which is filled with butterflies, hummingbirds, the cascade of our fountain and the vibrancy of a hundred different varieties of plants and colorful flowers.

We fell in love with this amazing town and eventually decided to purchase our home and began the process of transforming it. As our photos reveal our home is a very special place that is not at all a stripped down rental. It is our home, that we enjoy 5 months out of the year to escape the heat of Dallas. Tonight is our last night at Casa Simmons for our honeymoon and we have had an absolute wonderful time and don't want to leave! You are so fortunate to have such an awesome retreat. The house is soo comfortable and inviting. You have decorated it wonderfully from the pots of gardenias and laendar to the Ralph Lauren sheets on the beds. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time while staying in your beautiful Casa. Your home is like a Mediterranean getaway! While we were on the rooftop deck with the lake in view, we could almost envision us being at Capri.

We love coming to San Miguel and we especially love staying in your home. We love the quiet location, the beautiful indoor decor with it's cozy feel, the outdoor gardens and sitting areas and the great view of San Miguel from the roof top. Thank you for allowing us to experience this spiritual place. It is the simplest of things that paint the lovely picture of a truly magical place... the chirping of the birds, the concert of bells ringing below, the aroma of fresh ground coffee, the exotic scent of fresh flowers, our constant companion, Our Lady of Guadalupe, in the garden, the tranquil sound of the water fountain easing us into a mid-day nap. We cannot thank you enough for the magical moments expereinced here in San Miguel and in your lovely home.

When I return to the daily irritations of life, I will remember the smiles of the people, the shreik of the peacocks at sunset and the magnificence of the sunset itself. I treasure the sound of the birds flitting from flower to flower in the garden below and the gentle rustle of the palms on the patio. This is a sanctuary!!!
