This cabin is just what we were looking for. Walking distance to the lake and in a quiet Donner westend neighborhood backed away from the main highway. The kids could freely ride their bikes up and down this cabin lined street. The cabin was well stocked, very clean and cozy; the neighbors even had the heat on for our arrival. The bedrooms were nice and comfy and of good size. The deck was perfect to BBQ. I would recommend this cabin to anyone wanting a nice, relaxing pet / kid friendly get away.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, pet owners, age 55+, families with young children.

Six family members shared this cabin during the ski season and it served us very well. Since we have skiers of varying experience and age, it was good to be between several resorts. It is about 20-30 minutes to both Northstar and Donner Ski Ranch/Sugar Bowl and 15 minutes to Tahoe Donner. The owner, Susan, was very communicative when there was a bad storm on our way up there. She was not going to charge us if we didn't make it. She has some local folks who had the driveway shoveled and the heat turned on for us when we arrived, which was so welcoming! It was especially nice because the snow was very heavy this season and the house would have been buried without regular attention! The house is cozy and well stocked. We really enjoyed staying here. It's really close to Donner Lake, too, so I hope to stay there in summer.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
