This beautiful 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath two-story duplex home sits in the posh Beverly Grove neighborhood.

The house features a gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances (including a Sub-Zero fridge and Thermador oven/range). There's also original 1936 crown molding, a handsome fireplace and recently-refinished hardwood floors.

The living room and master bedroom include televisions with over 500 satellite TV channels as well as DVD players. There's also a shared backyard charcoal BBQ and a washer and dryer (laundry soap included).

There are three bedrooms upstairs; the master bedroom (with attached bathroom) and two other bedrooms, sharing a bathroom between the two of them. PLEASE see the photos below to get a better sense of the size and layout of the bedrooms.

I am entertainment-industry (touring companies, Hollywood cast and crew, etc.) friendly. The house is in a fantastic and trendy neighborhood, centrally located to easily get to all major studios and theaters. With literally dozens of great restaurants, shops and movie theaters within walking distance, it's a perfect home away from home.

The house is on a permit-only parking street and comes with TWO permits for two vehicles... bottom line, it's always easy to park right in front of the property.

Arriving on a late flight? Have to clear customs and immigration and not sure when you'll be at the house? No problem at all, I can easily accomodate your arrival, as late as necessary.

Why the Owner Chose West Hollywood

I lived in this house for eight years before deciding to make it a vacation rental. Once I made that decision, I took several months to renovate it and make it fantastic. (When it was all done, I even had a moment of "dang, this place is REALLY nice now, I wish I was still living here!"). Not only is the house terrific, but the neighborhood is AMAZING-- there's so much within walking distance (a rarity in car-centric Los Angeles) and it's just charming and nice.

The Unique Benefits at this House

There are literally dozens and dozens of fantastic shops, restaurants, theaters and boutiques within a 15-minute walk. Two of the most successful Southern California retail centers, The Beverly Center and The Grove, are also within walking distance. Four of the best restaurants in the entire city (A.O.C., Lucques, Comme Ca and Ortolan) are also within walking distance. It's just ridiculous how much there is to do in the neighborhood, and how centrally located you are for traveling downtown, the Valley, Hollywood, the beaches, and Disneyland... I'm right in the middle of it all.

A
The Grove

Set on 20 acres adjacent to the historic Farmers Market, The Grove is a gorgeous outdoor shopping area with a beautiful public park feel. Ride the historic trolley! See a movie! Stroll about!

B
The Farmer's Market

The historic Farmer's Market has been an institution since 1934. It's a collection of over 30 interesting little shops and restaurants. A great place to get brunch, browse around and explore.

C
The Beverly Center

As Southern California's premier trendsetting marketplace, Beverly Center features 160 distinctive specialty boutiques and restaurants reflecting the diverse styles and tastes of Los Angeles.

D
The Beverly Connection

More shopping including Coldstone Creamery, Johnny Rockets, Jamba Juice, Baja Fresh, Souplantation, Corner Bakery Cafe, Longs Drugs, Sport Chalet and more.

E
Shops, restaurants and boutiques of 3rd Street

There's so much here I couldn't fit it all in the map. :-) Please see: http://losangeles.metromix.com/style/roundup/stepping-out-w-3rd/268182/content

F
Kings Road Cafe

The Kings Road Cafe features a great California lunch menu with light salads and entrees, plus a separate coffee shop with fresh-baked pastries and coffee and espresso drinks.

J
Urth Caffe

One of my favorite restaurants in L.A. -- delicious soup, salads and sandwiches (including many vegan and vegetarian options), phenomenal espresso drinks, and odds are good you'll spot a celebrity!

K
Swingers (awesome 24 hr restaurant)

Swingers has been in a number of movies and TV shows.

L
Easton Gym

This charming gym has been here since the 1930s; I highly recommend it. Free weights, machines, great classes, and a killer view of the Hollywood sign from the lovely rooftop deck.

M
Design Within Reach

Furniture store featuring pieces from mid-century classic designers Saarinen, Eames and Bertoia.

N
Regency Theaters

The neighborhood bargain movie theaters.

O
Canter's Deli

A Los Angeles landmark, this 24-hour Jewish deli/restaurant shouldn't be missed.

P
Nordstrom, Abercrombie & Fitch, The Gap

Just some of the stores here in The Grove. You'll also find Barnes & Noble, Crate & Barrel, a Nike Store, an Apple Store, Pac Sun, great restaurants, the dancing waters in the fountain...

Q
Barnes and Noble

This Barnes and Noble has a very cozy lounge area, with a Starbucks on the top floor. Not only is there a great view but you can usually pick up the wi-fi signal from the Apple Store next door.

R
Jerry's Famous Deli

Phenomenal matzoh ball soup, and pretty much anything else you can imagine :-) A great late-night dining choice-- open until 2am.

S
The Pacific Design Center

A West Hollywood landmark; you may not have known its name but you've probably seen it in dozens of movies and television shows.

T
Pool, library, playground, basketball

This is the nearest swimming pool and public library. It's a lovely 30-minute stroll from the house, and there's a park here, too, with public basketball courts and two playgrounds for the kids.

V
The Sunset Strip (tons of nightclubs)

The world-famous Sunset Strip, home of the Viper Room, Whisky a Go-Go, The Key Club, Miyagi's, The Mondrian, the House of Blues, Skybar and more.

W
Trader Joe's (and Starbucks)

Trader Joe's is a Los Angeles institution -- an incredible local grocery store with rock-bottom prices for high quality products (many organic). Cereal, yogurt, lots of snacks, fresh entrees, more.

X
Whole Foods supermarket

The famous healthy grocery store chain is located here. In addition to the groceries (including an extensive cheese department and bakery), they have an amazing (and enormous) prepared food area.

Y
Museum corner

Two of my favorite museums are on this corner: LACMA (the Los Angeles Contemporary Museum of Art) and the Petersen Automotive Museum.

Owner's Map of West Hollywood

After living all over the United States, I came to Los Angeles 20 years ago and now consider it home. I love L.A. and genuinely enjoy having folks come and enjoy themselves in my city.

[A guest left this handwritten note in the house after their stay. -Eric (owner)] Dear Eric, we arrived as planned, and walked to the Farmer's Market and the Grove first thing. Next morning we discovered the morning sunshine on the upstairs balcony, filtered through the branches of your ancient olive tree. Delightful!! The whole place is delightful-- a memory of the golden age of Hollywood! The furniture, decoration and all of it in a delightful place to stay. Thank you!

Date of Stay: 01/18/12 Review Submitted: 01/27/12

My family came to LA last weekend for my wedding and we rented this beautiful Home from Eric. I have to say the it was such a dream working with Eric, he was the most pleasant and helpful person I could ever imagine! This home is exactly as pictured, beautiful modern decor, clean with three perfect sized bedrooms. The living room with fireplace was perfect to come home to after spending the day visiting all the great spots that are very close by including shops, restaurants, cafes as well as the great Beverly Center Mall. I highly recommend this Home, and would always check back with Eric through this site when having family and friends visit us in the future! Best regards, Sara

Owner response:Sara, thank you for such a nice review! It was a pleasure to have you and your family stay with me, and I'm so happy you enjoyed the house and the neighborhood. I'd love to have you back any time! :-) best, Eric

Efficient, Hospitable Owner with One AMAZING House in PRIME Location!

Guest: sallySF (California)
Date of Stay: 01/14/12 Review Submitted: 01/26/12

From the moment I inquired about availability, Eric was the first to respond out of all the other rental properties in this prime location. We were traveling from SF in a group of 8 to spend our MLK weekend in LA so I had follow up questions via phone, email, text and he was incredibly accommodating, flexible and responsive for an owner that I hadn't even met! There are a lot of interesting neighborhoods in LA out there - Los Feliz, Silverlake, Echo Park - but stay somewhere nice, fun and convenient, like this one! Location, Location, Location. It couldn't be located in a more convenient neighborhood. You're near the Beverly Center, Grove, Farmer's Market, Larchmont, WeHo, Ktown, Robertson, Animal, Cantor's Deli, right next to Joan's on Third, MAGNOLIA BAKERY! If you really want to, you could drive to Silverlake which is only 20min away. Yes, we only stayed 3nights, but we hit up all these places because they're all so close! If you have limited amount of time, THIS is the place to stay. Some of my friends and I had a nice lil post hangover run around the neighborhood, and there are a TON of cute little art, clothes, furniture, knick knack stores surrounding the area. On to the house... Hi-tech secured electric door!?! I had no idea! This made it so convenient so that we all had the "key" and didn't have to rely on someone else to be at home. I don't know if he got an interior decorator or if he did it all himself, but I felt the "WELCOME TO LA" vibe upon entering, and the entire house is very eclectic with each room having its own personality - vintage, art deco, modern, fun retro. I felt like I was on MTV's Real World with all of us running around checking out the house, trying to decide where to sleep, turning on the fireplace and sipping our cocktails. Finally, he pays attention to every detail to ensure that his guests are comfortable - parking permits, making sure TP doesn't run out, having plenty of towels including hand towels, a hair dryer, dishware, platters, and even the showerhead was like standing under a little spring! Needless to say, we all had a BLAST this MLK weekend! I had no idea someone could be so hospitable without even meeting.

Owner response:Sally, WOW! Thanks for such a fantastic review. You clearly squeezed the most out of your stay (and you also clearly know Los Angeles well!)... totally thrilled that you liked the neighborhood and house so much. I wish I could take credit for the interior decorating, but it was actually done by an up-an-coming design firm called "this is not ikea." :-) Thanks for noticing the attention I give to all the little details; just like my guests, I like to stay at VRBO properties when I travel so I have an idea of what YOU'RE looking for in a property because it's the same kinds of things I like when I stay at a VRBO myself. Anyhow, glad you and your friends had an awesome MLK weekend and please, come stay with me again. :-) best, Eric

Fantastic house, effortless booking

Guest: Alison G.
Date of Stay: 09/07/11 Review Submitted: 10/03/11

We had the pleasure of staying at this fantastic house recently. Eric made the whole process so effortless. From the beginning the ease of booking sets the standard for the whole trip. All was as advertised, the house was spacious, centrally located, clean and fantastically funky. Grabbing coffee each morning from either Joans or Magnolia's on 3rd, marked the start of another great day in LA. We travelled with 3 adults and 2 kids (17, 10) and we couldn't be happier in the house, we even started saying "good to be home" each day. It is in a fantastic location and was the difference between a LA holiday and what all said when we left "trip of a lifetime". I have recommended this house to everyone I know and cant help referring to it as the icing on the cake for us. Parking permit, WIFI, Eric's hospitality and efficiency was all fantastic. "We can't wait to come home to LA again". Thanks Eric.

Owner response:I'm so happy to hear you had such a great stay! I am also pleased to see that you enjoyed both Joan's On Third and Magnolia Bakery... fantastic places, excellent food and both just a few minutes' walk from the house. Hope to see you back soon!

Best decision ever!

Guest: Kaewjai N.
Date of Stay: 08/19/11 Review Submitted: 09/06/11

My girlfriends and I spend 2 weeks in this lovely place and by the end of the trip we agreed this is the best decision ever. The house is spacious and tastefully decorated. Working fireplace, nice kitchen equipped with everything you need including tableware, and rooms to spread out all our shopping bags. Huge bonus is the location convenience. We could walk to charming boutiques on 3rd street and my favorite restaurants like Jar, Magnolia (cupcake), Joan's on Third, Toast, and Sushi Roku. Eric was so helpful and accommodating. We will definitely stay there again.

Owner response:Hello Kaewjai, thank you so much for this extremely nice review. Glad my place is big since it sounds like y'all did a lot of shopping while you were in Los Angeles. :-) You've also named a bunch of my favorite restaurants in the area (Magnolia Bakery... yum!!). Would love to have you back the next time your travels bring you to Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES HOLIDAY HOME

Guest: Annette S.
Date of Stay: 08/08/11 Review Submitted: 08/21/11

We were fortunate to spend 7 nights at this superbly positioned and wonderfully fitted out holiday home. Arranging the house from England we were hopeful our booking would be straightforward and, indeed, it was. The owner, Eric, was efficient and answered our every query immediately. He was understanding and helpful and we thank him for this. The house was in a safe neighbourhood and ideally situated, especially for shopping in the Beverley Center and Farmer's Market (a must visit)! We would love to return. Thank you again.

Owner response:Annette, thanks so much for this very kind review! Very pleased that your holiday was good and that you made it over to the original Los Angeles Farmer's Market (an original since 1934, and a short stroll from the house!). Of course I'd love to have you back any time. :-) Thanks again. -Eric
