This beautiful 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath two-story duplex home sits in the posh Beverly Grove neighborhood.

I completed a full renovation late last year. The house features a gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances (including a Sub-Zero fridge and Thermador oven/range). There's also original 1936 crown molding, a handsome fireplace and recently-refinished hardwood floors.

The living room and master bedroom include televisions with over 500 satellite TV channels as well as DVD players. There's also a shared backyard charcoal BBQ and a washer and dryer (laundry soap included).

I am entertainment-industry (touring companies, Hollywood cast and crew, etc.) friendly. The house is in a fantastic and trendy neighborhood, centrally located to easily get to all major studios and theaters. With literally dozens of great restaurants, shops and movie theaters within walking distance, it's a perfect home away from home.

Incredible Rate, Incredible Location! by Bevery Hills, H'Wood.

Year Purchased: 2000

Why the Owner Chose West Hollywood

I lived in this house for eight years before deciding to make it a vacation rental. Once I made that decision, I moved out, then took several months to renovate it and make it fantastic. (When it was all done, I even had a moment of "dang, this place is REALLY nice now, I wish I was still living here!"). Not only is the house terrific, but the neighborhood is AMAZING-- there's so much within walking distance (a rarity in car-centric Los Angeles) and it's just charming and nice.

The Unique Benefits at this House

There are literally dozens and dozens of fantastic shops, restaurants, theaters and boutiques within a 15-minute walk. Two of the most successful Southern California retail centers, The Beverly Center and The Grove, are also within walking distance. Four of the best restaurants in the entire city (A.O.C., Lucques, Comme Ca and Ortolan) are also within walking distance. It's just ridiculous how much there is to do in the neighborhood, and how centrally located you are for traveling downtown, the Valley, Hollywood, the beaches, and Disneyland... I'm right in the middle of it all.

A
The Grove

Set on 20 acres adjacent to the historic Farmers Market, The Grove is a gorgeous outdoor shopping area with a beautiful public park feel. Ride the historic trolley! See a movie! Stroll about!

B
The Farmer's Market

The historic Farmer's Market has been an institution since 1934. It's a collection of over 30 interesting little shops and restaurants. A great place to get brunch, browse around and explore.

C
The Beverly Center

As Southern California's premier trendsetting marketplace, Beverly Center features 160 distinctive specialty boutiques and restaurants reflecting the diverse styles and tastes of Los Angeles.

D
The Beverly Connection

More shopping including Starbucks, Coldstone Creamery, Johnny Rockets, Jamba Juice, Baja Fresh, Souplantation, Corner Bakery Cafe, Longs Drugs, Sport Chalet and more.

E
Shops, restaurants and boutiques of 3rd Street

There's so much here I couldn't fit it all in the map. :-) Please see: http://losangeles.metromix.com/style/roundup/stepping-out-w-3rd/268182/content

F
Kings Road Cafe

The Kings Road Cafe features a great California lunch menu with light salads and entrees, plus a separate coffee shop with fresh-baked pastries and coffee and espresso drinks.

J
Urth Caffe

One of my favorite restaurants in L.A. -- delicious soup, salads and sandwiches (including many vegan and vegetarian options), phenomenal espresso drinks, and odds are good you'll spot a celebrity!

K
Swingers (awesome 24 hr restaurant)

Swingers has been in a number of movies and TV shows.

L
Easton Gym

This charming gym has been here since the 1930s; I highly recommend it. Free weights, machines, great classes, and a killer view of the Hollywood sign from the lovely rooftop deck.

M
Design Within Reach

Furniture store featuring pieces from mid-century classic designers Saarinen, Eames and Bertoia.

N
Regency Theaters

The neighborhood bargain movie theaters.

O
Canter's Deli

A Los Angeles landmark, this 24-hour Jewish deli/restaurant shouldn't be missed.

P
Nordstrom, Abercrombie & Fitch, The Gap

Just some of the stores here in The Grove. You'll also find Barnes & Noble, Crate & Barrel, a Nike Store, an Apple Store, Pac Sun, great restaurants, the dancing waters in the fountain...

Q
Barnes and Noble

This Barnes and Noble has a very cozy lounge area, with a Starbucks on the top floor. Not only is there a great view but you can usually pick up the wi-fi signal from the Apple Store next door.

R
Jerry's Famous Deli

Phenomenal matzoh ball soup, and pretty much anything else you can imagine :-) A great late-night dining choice-- open until 2am.

S
The Pacific Design Center

A West Hollywood landmark; you may not have known its name but you've probably seen it in dozens of movies and television shows.

T
Pool, library, playground, basketball

This is the nearest swimming pool and public library. It's a lovely 30-minute stroll from the house, and there's a park here, too, with public basketball courts and two playgrounds for the kids.

V
The Sunset Strip (tons of nightclubs)

The world-famous Sunset Strip, home of the Viper Room, Whisky a Go-Go, The Key Club, Miyagi's, The Mondrian, the House of Blues, Skybar and more.

W
Trader Joe's (and Starbucks)

Trader Joe's is a Los Angeles institution -- an incredible local grocery store with rock-bottom prices for high quality products (many organic). Cereal, yogurt, lots of snacks, fresh entrees, more.

X
Whole Foods supermarket

The famous healthy grocery store chain is located here. In addition to the groceries (including an extensive cheese department and bakery), they have an amazing (and enormous) prepared food area.

Y
Museum corner

Two of my favorite museums are on this corner: LACMA (the Los Angeles Contemporary Museum of Art) and the Petersen Automotive Museum.

Owner's Map of West Hollywood

After moving all over the United States, I came to Los Angeles 20 years ago and now consider it home. I love L.A. and genuinely enjoy having folks come and enjoy themselves in my city. My friend Mark helps me manage the property; he's a Chicago native who moved to L.A. about ten years ago to work in show biz.

    • Thanks, Eric! Our family of 5 all loved the place, and had a really wonderful time in LA. It was so comfortable and gracious, and so thoughtfully provided for. Mark had prepared the house beautifully and helped out with questions. My mother spent some time looking through your beautiful books. We enjoyed having suggestions of sightseeing and eating places, especially those we could walk to (as well as spots further afield). We also enjoyed the nearby goodwill shop and finding a local hairdresser's (Taboo - highly recommended). The only problem was not being able to do and see everything we wanted to, in the time we had.

      Homeowner Response:
Hi Juliet, I think it's great that y'all were able to enjoy the neighborhood so thoroughly ;-) Glad you had a good stay! best, Eric

    • My friends and I were in LA for a weekend wedding. Eric was a most gracious host during the renting process, and met us at the house to show us around. The house is in impeccable shape, and the interior design is fantastic. The house is located in a very convenient location, at the edge of Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. Highly recommend!

      Homeowner Response:
Sounds like your weekend went well :-) Thanks much for the positive remarks. -Eric

    • Great house for our week vacation in LA. My wife and 2 children stayed here for 6 nights in April for our kids spring break. Great central location in a good neighborhood. The house was VERY clean and the beds were comfortable. Eric, the owner, was responsive to our needs and was easy to deal with. Highly recommended, we hope to be back at this house next time we visit the LA area.

      Homeowner Response:
Hi Michael! Thanks for the very nice message. Would love to have y'all back next time you head down to Los Angeles! sincerely, Eric

    • My family is so glad we chose your house for our Christmas vacation in LA. We loved the shopping and food within walking distance, but we also loved that the house was such a comfortable place to hang out. We used the fireplace every day and cooked almost every night in the great kitchen. Eric was also a wonderful host from start to finish (incredibly responsive, helpful, and flexible). Definitely would recommend this house as an alternative to a hotel, especially for groups that like to cook!

      Homeowner Response:
Hi Phoebe, I think it's great that y'all decided to have your Christmas holidays in L.A., and stay at the house! I noticed you even set up a little Christmas tree, that was very cool :-) Really glad you had such a good visit and hope to see you again for your next trip out west. -Eric

    • My husband and I stayed in this house near my in- laws home, and I'm delighted we did. The house was very clean and comfortable, it didn't have a typical "hotel" smell but was instead fresh and clean, all of the rooms were spacious and nicely appointed, the wifi internet worked fast and flawlessly and best of all, it is very close to nice coffee shops and an upscale shopping mall. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience, and I would recommend it very highly.

      Homeowner Response:
Hello Dr. Lim, thank you for the very positive feedback! I'm glad you had a chance to enjoy the neighborhood; like you, I think that's one of the best things about the house. :-) -Eric

    • I only have good things to say about this fantastic place and the owner's warm and friendly personality and hospitality. It feels really fresh and new, and the furniture is fantastic and funky...very cool finds from mid-century to modern. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are quite large (the master bedroom is HUGE). I was there with family, and we never felt crowded or on top of one another. The kitchen is quite a sight, with a massive refrigerator anchoring the room...I think that fridge could hold food for 20 people for a month! However, we didn't wind up doing much cooking because of the walking-distance proximity to lots of great restaurants. If you are looking for a home-away-from-home in LA, look no further. You'll be quite happy with this selection. Feel free to contact me for more info or if you have questions.

      Homeowner Response:
Hi Geoff, really appreciate this nice review. You're right, the SubZero fridge is big :-) Glad you and your family had such a good stay. Hope to see you again the next time you are back in California. -Eric
