The photos don't do the space justice. Every bedroom was spacious. There were 7 of us and there were 2 guests in each bedroom and 3 in the master. We had a full/queen sized air mattress in the master and there was still plenty of space for all of our stuff. The location was perfectly situated. Street parking was not an issue at all!
Owner response:Hi Peter-- thanks for such a nice review! Yes, back in 1936 they made bedrooms big in houses... and the master suite is huge! :-) Thanks for staying with me and hope to see you again. best, Eric

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights and it was absolutely wonderful! The house is a short work to a huge number of great take-out places, restaurants the Beverley Center (shopping center and I'm sure there were more) and there's even a small corner store which supplies alcohol, cigarettes and a few groceries. As the advert states, the house is only a short drive from so many other places as well. My partner and I are from Australia and this was our first visit to LA. A hotel is fine but it's no house, we couldn't have been more comfortable than we were in this beautiful house. Highly recommended to any person seeking affordable luxury living!
Owner response:Thank you for this very nice review! Indeed, there is so much great stuff within walking distance as well as all the rest of the great L.A. stuff (Hollywood sign, Walk of Fame, Chinese Theater, beaches, Beverly Hills, Bel Air, etc, etc, etc) just minutes away by car/taxi/bus. Please come visit me on your next trip to California! :-) best, Eric

Magnific stay at Eric's apartment, very good location near to Beverly, Universal Studios and Venice/Santa Monica Beaches. Neighbourhood quite and safe. Do not miss a dinner or a drink at the near restaurant at 8484 West 3rd Street, great service and dinner. Enjoy!!!
Owner response:Thank you so much for your nice words, Victor. Glad you enjoyed your stay at the house, and hope to see you back when your travels bring you here to Los Angeles again. :-) best, Eric

This is a charming 1930s era house with some original elements (love the original furnace vent grates) and modern comforts where necessary - like the kitchen, bedrooms, etc. Everything is spotlessly clean. The off 3rd Street location is perfect: you can walk to Toast or Joan's for breakfast, Son of a Gun (one of LA's hottest restaurants) for lunch, and Robata Jinya for dinner - then to Magnolia Bakery for cupcakes for dessert. We will definitely stay here again.
Owner response:Hi Victoria, thank you for this incredibly nice review! :-) You're spot-on with the age of the house (it was built in 1936), and that you for noticing that I have tried to keep as many of the charming original features as possible. Please come stay with me again some time, I'd love to have you back. best, Eric

My team and I had to be in town on business for a couple days and decided to rent from Eric vs. staying in a hotel; we had an amazing experience! The house has everything you could need. 3 large bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a spacious living room, a cozy dining room that seats 6 and a beautiful/updated kitchen (with laundry). We were able to be productive for work, having meetings in the spacious living room, and also relax with a glass of wine to wind down our days. It was great to have a home-away-from-home feeling, vs. being bunked down in a hotel. A first for my team, but we'll absolutely take this approach again. Upon our arrival there was some yummy cupcakes from Eric (...thanks Eric) and Eric was available with a couple questions I had; very quick to respond. We'll absolutely stay at Eric's place again! I very much recommend!
Owner response:Hi Tamara, thank you very, very much for this review! I love reading about how you were able to use the house as a home base for a business trip, and how relaxing it was to not go back to an impersonal hotel room after working all day. You really "got" the whole point of renting a private home and I'm enormously pleased it worked out well for you. :-) Please come stay with me again any time, I'd love to have you back! best-- E

We've rented homes all over the world and this is one of our favorites. This charming house is located in a great location in West Hollywood. Restaurants, shopping, sights and bars are all just around the corner from the house and only a short walk away. Don't miss Joan's on Third for any meal (we went every day) or Toast for breakfast. The house is tastefully decorated in a vintage Hollywood style. The working fireplace was a nice touch in the living room and we enjoyed it every night during our mid-winter stay. The kitchen is recently updated and very user friendly. Eric is great to work with and he goes out of his way to make you feel welcome.
Owner response:Hi Todd, thanks for this very nice review! Joan's on Third is one of my favorite places in the neighborhood so I'm glad y'all got to enjoy it. I'd love to have you and your family stay with me any time you are in Los Angeles. best, E

We recently stayed at the above property having booked it over the internet from Australia. As 3 single women, we were seeking a property in the West Hollywood area that allowed us to walk to two of the major shopping malls in LA. Our concerns about booking on line were to no avail as it was a very easy process and the landlord, Eric was fantastic to deal with and very responsive with any of our enquries. The house itself was great with 3 great sized bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and provided us with plenty of space for each of us. The kitchen was well appointed and the dining room and lounge great for relaxing. The decor throughout was very tasteful and it had all the amenities we required. In addition, it was extremely clean and well maintained. The house itself was exactly as portrayed in the photos. The location was fantastic with the Beverley Centre only 5 minutes away and The Grove also within walking distance. We also loved being so close to the shops, cafes & restaurants on 3rd Street – Joans on 3rd was fabulous for one! So was the travel goods shop.... I would highly recommend this property.
Owner response:Hi Tracy, thank you for this very nice review-- I'm so glad you and your friends had a great stay, and I'd love to have you back any time. best, Eric

[A guest left this handwritten note in the house after their stay. -Eric (owner)] Dear Eric, we arrived as planned, and walked to the Farmer's Market and the Grove first thing. Next morning we discovered the morning sunshine on the upstairs balcony, filtered through the branches of your ancient olive tree. Delightful!! The whole place is delightful-- a memory of the golden age of Hollywood! The furniture, decoration and all of it in a delightful place to stay. Thank you!

My family came to LA last weekend for my wedding and we rented this beautiful Home from Eric. I have to say the it was such a dream working with Eric, he was the most pleasant and helpful person I could ever imagine! This home is exactly as pictured, beautiful modern decor, clean with three perfect sized bedrooms. The living room with fireplace was perfect to come home to after spending the day visiting all the great spots that are very close by including shops, restaurants, cafes as well as the great Beverly Center Mall. I highly recommend this Home, and would always check back with Eric through this site when having family and friends visit us in the future! Best regards, Sara

From the moment I inquired about availability, Eric was the first to respond out of all the other rental properties in this prime location. We were traveling from SF in a group of 8 to spend our MLK weekend in LA so I had follow up questions via phone, email, text and he was incredibly accommodating, flexible and responsive for an owner that I hadn't even met! There are a lot of interesting neighborhoods in LA out there - Los Feliz, Silverlake, Echo Park - but stay somewhere nice, fun and convenient, like this one! Location, Location, Location. It couldn't be located in a more convenient neighborhood. You're near the Beverly Center, Grove, Farmer's Market, Larchmont, WeHo, Ktown, Robertson, Animal, Cantor's Deli, right next to Joan's on Third, MAGNOLIA BAKERY! If you really want to, you could drive to Silverlake which is only 20min away. Yes, we only stayed 3nights, but we hit up all these places because they're all so close! If you have limited amount of time, THIS is the place to stay. Some of my friends and I had a nice lil post hangover run around the neighborhood, and there are a TON of cute little art, clothes, furniture, knick knack stores surrounding the area. On to the house... Hi-tech secured electric door!?! I had no idea! This made it so convenient so that we all had the "key" and didn't have to rely on someone else to be at home. I don't know if he got an interior decorator or if he did it all himself, but I felt the "WELCOME TO LA" vibe upon entering, and the entire house is very eclectic with each room having its own personality - vintage, art deco, modern, fun retro. I felt like I was on MTV's Real World with all of us running around checking out the house, trying to decide where to sleep, turning on the fireplace and sipping our cocktails. Finally, he pays attention to every detail to ensure that his guests are comfortable - parking permits, making sure TP doesn't run out, having plenty of towels including hand towels, a hair dryer, dishware, platters, and even the showerhead was like standing under a little spring! Needless to say, we all had a BLAST this MLK weekend! I had no idea someone could be so hospitable without even meeting.
Owner response:Sally, WOW! Thanks for such a fantastic review. Sounds like you squeezed the most out of your stay (and you also clearly know Los Angeles well!). I'm thrilled that you liked the neighborhood and house so much. I wish I could take credit for the interior decorating, but it was actually done by an up-an-coming design firm called "this is not ikea." :-) Thanks for noticing the attention I give to all the little details-- *I* like to stay at VRBO properties when *I* travel, so I have an idea of what you are looking for as my guest. Anyhow, glad you and your friends had an awesome MLK weekend and please, come stay with me again. :-) best, Eric

We had the pleasure of staying at this fantastic house recently. Eric made the whole process so effortless. From the beginning the ease of booking sets the standard for the whole trip. All was as advertised, the house was spacious, centrally located, clean and fantastically funky. Grabbing coffee each morning from either Joans or Magnolia's on 3rd, marked the start of another great day in LA. We travelled with 3 adults and 2 kids (17, 10) and we couldn't be happier in the house, we even started saying "good to be home" each day. It is in a fantastic location and was the difference between a LA holiday and what all said when we left "trip of a lifetime". I have recommended this house to everyone I know and cant help referring to it as the icing on the cake for us. Parking permit, WIFI, Eric's hospitality and efficiency was all fantastic. "We can't wait to come home to LA again". Thanks Eric.
Owner response:I'm so happy to hear you had such a great stay! I am also pleased to see that you enjoyed both Joan's On Third and Magnolia Bakery... fantastic places, excellent food and both just a few minutes' walk from the house. Hope to see you back soon!

My girlfriends and I spend 2 weeks in this lovely place and by the end of the trip we agreed this is the best decision ever. The house is spacious and tastefully decorated. Working fireplace, nice kitchen equipped with everything you need including tableware, and rooms to spread out all our shopping bags. Huge bonus is the location convenience. We could walk to charming boutiques on 3rd street and my favorite restaurants like Jar, Magnolia (cupcake), Joan's on Third, Toast, and Sushi Roku. Eric was so helpful and accommodating. We will definitely stay there again.
Owner response:Hello Kaewjai, thank you so much for this extremely nice review. Glad my place is big since it sounds like y'all did a lot of shopping while you were in Los Angeles. :-) You've also named a bunch of my favorite restaurants in the area (Magnolia Bakery... yum!!). We were fortunate to spend 7 nights at this superbly positioned and wonderfully fitted out holiday home. Arranging the house from England we were hopeful our booking would be straightforward and, indeed, it was. The owner, Eric, was efficient and answered our every query immediately. He was understanding and helpful and we thank him for this. The house was in a safe neighbourhood and ideally situated, especially for shopping in the Beverley Center and Farmer's Market (a must visit)! We would love to return. Thank you again.
Owner response:Annette, thanks so much for this very kind review! Very pleased that your holiday was good and that you made it over to the original Los Angeles Farmer's Market (an original since 1934, and a short stroll from the house!). Of course I'd love to have you back any time. :-) Thanks again. -Eric

The details supplied on the website were 100% accurate and indeed all the facilities within the house were fully operational and comfortable. Our family of 5 had lots of space, Whole foodstore 5 mins drive up the road , whole variety of restaurants for all tastes and prices within easy walk .The house is clean, tidy and located in a safe, good part of LA and importantly for foreigners to the USA with children you also feel safe.Next time I holiday in LA I will certainly phone Eric to check availability. I was planning a trip to LA with my girlfriend, my parents, and her parents. We found that this area is centrally located and strategic to major attractions around the city (no more than 10-30 mins away). The property is only 10 min walk from Beverly Center shopping mall and LA Farmers Market. The house is beautifully decorated with retro-modern style. I found out that the owner actually hired a design firm to remodel the house (and loves their other works). What I saw in the house was exactly as described, if not better than, in the pictures. As these thoughts came through my mind, I can see that my girlfriend has started taking notes about decoration details that we can leverage if we were to decorate our house. Did I mention that the furniture are high quality and there is a tremendous attention to detail that we really appreciate in the decor? The check-in and out process was very smooth. The house actually has an electronic key, so that you don't have to worry about picking up keys. Since we have plenty of people, we utilize the kitchen quite a bit. The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances and well-stocked with cooking basics (oil, silverware, plates, cups, salt/pepper, etc.) On our last night, everybody was already tired from the trip. So we gathered around the living room and made a good use of the fireplace. I love this feature about the house. The owner has been very responsive to our request and constantly checking/emailing the day prior/after the stay about what to expect and what to prepare. We had a slight problem when one of our out-of-state cars were given a parking ticket (we were provided stickers to park on certain areas of the street where only residents can park) - the parking guy might not bother to check the sticker since the car is out-of-state. The owner has been very helpful and worked something with us to help resolve the parking ticket issue. Bottom line, I was very satisfied with my stay and would recommend this property to others.
Owner response:Thanks so much for this generous review. There are so many kind words you have here! In particular, I appreciate you noticing that I try to be good with communication, sending detailed emails before arrival, and just before check-out. I do everything I can to be sure my guests are comfortable and happy the house, since I am proud of my home and proud of my city, and truly want folks to have a great time here in Los Angeles! Hope to see you back soon. Thanks again.

Just a short note to let you know how much we enjoyed the stay in LA. The house was fantastic and the location was very central to everything whilst still being in a quiet street. There wasn't anything about the house that we didn't like, it was very spacious, after spending 9 days in a small hotel room in Boston and New York, when we got to LA we finally felt like we could b.r.e.a.t.h.e. again. We did all the touristy things like Universal Studios, Disneyland, the Hollywood sign and shopping of course which were all fun! and lots of other stuff too. Thank you for the use of the washer/dryer, that really helped and also the pizza restaurant around the corner D'Amore has the most amazing pepperoni/jalepeno pizza we've ever had..ever..! Overall we would highly recommend the house to anyone who was thinking of spending time in LA. Cheers :)

What a great location! Literally walking distance to Beverly Center, Kings Road, great retail. Safe neighborhood. I love older homes in this area and this one has been very nicely remodeled and decorated. Everything worked. New appliances in kitchen. New washer/dryer. Nice TVs. WiFi worked. Three large bedrooms. Reliable and friendly property manager. We are familiar with the area and have stayed at several local hotels while visiting family and friends. This was a much better experience than cramming a family of five in a hotel room for the same cost as a decent hotel in the area. We would rent this place again without a doubt.
Owner response:Greg, thank you so much for these nice words. I make a big effort to be sure the property is a great place to stay, and it's great to see you noticed :-) Would be very happy to have you and your family back any time. best, Eric

We stayed here with our four younger kids on a recent visit to the LA area. We used to live in LA so knew this would be a great spot and we were correct. It is VERY walkable to restaurants and shopping. You are so close to so many things in the LA area that it makes the perfect place to stay. As for the house it is fantastic. You will love it and the rooms are nice and large. Thanks to Mark and Eric for their excellent service and communication. We stay in many homes around the country and this stay exceeded our expectations.

I have stayed at his LA house twice now and it is been a great experience both times. It is so nice to come home to your own lounge room and kitchen, rather than just a hotel room. The first time I stayed with my colleagues on business (the 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms worked well for three of us) and it was great to meet in a relaxed environment after work to review the day's events. We are all female and felt very safe in this quiet location. The second time I stayed with my family - it was a very convenient base for shops, sightseeing and nearby cafes and restaurants. The rooms are clean, the decor is stylish and the owners are very helpful. Thank you Mark for a great stay. We definitely plan to come again!

This property is exactly as advertised, if not better! Charming, modern, spacious and clean. It was unseasonably cold and we loved being able to use the fireplace. Great location. It was great to be able to walk along 3rd Street, to the Grove, the Farmers Market and even to Melrose. Mark was a pleasure to deal with. We will be recommending this property to friends and will hope to stay again on our next visit to Los Angeles!
Owner response:Thanks so much for this nice note! Mark and I are both so happy to hear you had a good stay... and it's great that you were able to use the fireplace; it's one of the most charming features of the house, but L.A. is usually too warm for it to be turned on :-) Hope to see you back the next time you're in Los Angeles. best, Eric & Mark

This was an excellent property, accurately respresented by the photographs here. The location is great, within walking distance of the Beverley Center, Rodeo Drive and The Grove shopping areas. We came with two cars and parking permits were kindly provided (be aware that there is street cleaning on Monday and Tuesday mornings). Hollywood Bvd is 10 minutes' drive, Universal Studios 15 minutes, and Santa Monica half an hour away. The area around the house felt very suburban and safe. The house itself has three very large bedrooms, a large modern kitchen, separate dining room, and spacious lounge. The wireless internet worked well. The property manager Mark was helpful and quick to respond to any email enquiries. If you are coming to LA this is a great base. I would highly recommend hiring a car because the city is huge and the sights are spread out. I researched a lot of properties and for a family of four or more this works out as excellent value. If we come back to LA we will defintely consider staying here again!

It is big and roomy and immaculately clean. The house is in a perfect location, set in a quiet avenue, but close to the Beverley Centre and perfect for a base to use to do all the sightseeing in LA. Perfect place to stay. We will definitely stay here again when we next visit LA.

Our family group of one infant, two parents and three grandparents stayed at this house for four nights in Mid-October 2010. We found the property to be just as described and very clean. The owner was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. We would stay there again should we return to the area. The house worked out extremely well for our group. Thank you Mark and Eric.
Owner response:Thanks a bunch for these very nice words :-) It was great to have you (and the whole family!) at the house.

An amazing place, in an excellent location - absolutely loved it! Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone - if you're going to visit LA you may as well do it in style... and this house and plenty of that!!
Owner response:Thanks so much Parwinder! Great to have you and your family stay at the house. Definitely appreciate your nice comments about the style; a lot of effort went into making sure the place was warm and inviting, but would still have some personality :-) best, Eric (& Mark)

Booked to stay here for our first trip to LA. Very very safe neighbourhood, lovely little street 10 min walk to Santa Monica Blvd, excellent amenities in the more immediate neighbourhood. No problems with parking, excellent location for exploring The Hollywoods and Venice with a car. The house itself is immaculate, beautifully, tastefully decorated and very light and airy. The beds are very comfortable. We had 5 people staying and one evening entertained 5 guests and it never once felt crowded. Next time I travel to LA, I will certainly want to stay here again. Mark was very helpful and had even written a comprehensive guide of the area which was very helpful.
Owner response:Thank you so much, Lucio! It was great to have you at the house, and it also makes me happy that you trusted us for your first time here in Los Angeles. Any time those London winters get you down, don't forget it's sunny and lovely here in L.A. and we would always enjoy having you back. :-) Thanks again.

We decided to stay at the property whilst celebrating my 30th birthday in LA. We booked through Mark who I found to be very helpful, informative and made himself indisposible both prior to booking and throughout the time we were there. The property was exactly as pictured and described. It is in a prime location within walking distance from The Beverly Center and The Grove alongside high quality restaurants and a fantastic bakery at the end of the road. We travelled mainly by taxi which was relatively inexpensive due to the property location a few minutes away from the infamous Melrose Avenue, Hollywood and Sunset Boulevard. Would definitely recommend this property for families or a group of friends as it is so versatile. Th
Owner response:Thanks again for staying with us-- just love reading positive reviews like this :-) It was good to meet you, and we're glad your stay was so enjoyable. Really hope to see you again next time you're heading to Los Angeles.

la casa es increïble, totalmente remodelada, y muy bien ubicada. Si se tiene coche, se aparca delante de la puerta, y cerca de la zona, hay un monton de restaurantes. hemos estado muy bien, esperamos repetir algún dia Thanks Mark

We stayed at Eric and Mark's apartment for 1 week in August 2010.We were a family of 5,2 adults and 3 children, aged 11,10 and 7 years. What you see here on the website is exactly what you get !. A beautiful centrally located apartment which was clean, comfortable and well maintained. Mark, the property manager was a pleasure to deal with,he was very friendly and gave us some very good tips re restaurants. We would highly recommend the chocolate and pecan cookies baked to order at the Grand Luxe Cafe!.Unfortunately we did not get to meet Eric during our stay,I'm sure however that he is equally hospitable. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anybody. We look forward to staying here again on our return to L.A.
Owner response:Thank you so much for these nice words! It was a pleasure to meet you as well, and glad you had a chance to enjoy Grand Luxe Cafe, here in the neighborhood. :-) Hope to see you back the next time you are in Los Angeles! -Mark (& Eric)

We felt really lucky to find this accommodation. The property is very clean and well maintained. The decor stylish, but also very comfortable. The location is ideal to see all the must see sites. After a tiring day of sightseeing it was great to come back to the house. The neighbourhood was quiet and felt very safe. Eric and Mark were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed their recommended restaurant, El Cholo's. Everything was excellent and I am excited to encourage other people to visit LA and this property. We highly recommend this accommodation.
Owner response:Sarah, what a pleasure to log in and find your incredibly nice words. Mark and I are both so pleased you had a good stay (and glad you had a chance to eat at El Cholo-- some of the best Mexican food in Los Angeles!). Thanks again for staying with us and we hope to see and your family again. -Eric

Quiet, safe street and area has plenty of facilities nearby. We used the house as a base when in CA for 2 weeks, and it's got lots of space and character, furnished with style. Mark was very helpful, and we would recommend the property without hesitation.
Owner response:Thank you so much! Glad you could make my home, your home. Appreciate the kind words. :-)

We really enjoyed our stay at at your house in West Hollywood -- it looks just like the photos online. Not only was it clean and spacious, but centrally located to most attractions. We were able to walk to The Grove, Farmers Market, La Brea Tar Pits and CBS Television Studios. We also found it easy to drive to Malibu, Santa Monica, and the Getty Museum.

I can highly recommend this beautiful house, with a great location in the heart of West Hollywood. Perfect walking distance to great shopping, cafées, restaurants and Farmers Market. Our kids (5 & 1 years old) also loved the house. A great choice for both short term and long term stays! Thanks for having us. We feel so lucky that we found this house :-).

We had a very nice stay at this property while we were in Los Angeles. The house is comfortable and super clean. It has all of the amenities you could want - kitchen, laundry, additional blow-up bed, parking... The house is well located near the Grove and Beverly Hills, with many nice restaurants within easy walking distance. We highly recommned Allora, a small, authentic Italian restaurant on 3rd Ave. Mark was there to show us around when we arrived, and was readily available to answer any questions during our stay. Our security deposit was quickly refunded. We would not hesitate to recommend this house to a friend, and would stay there again ourselves.

Comment Text: We found the house and the location perfect for our family visit to LA. The three spacious bedrooms, the fixtures and fittings and the amenities were all of a very high standard and the great location allowed us to easily walk or take a short car ride to most of the places we wanted to see on our recent trip to LA. The house is a real gem and almost too good to share with other people!! We can highly recommend the property and the very friendly way our bookings and arrival was handled by Mark. It was a pleasure to meet Mark and to stay in such a great place. We wish we could have stayed longer and would certainly love to come back.

Mark, I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed staying in your appartment in October. The appartment was well appointed, confortable, and located in a great area close to restuartants, and also to the Beverly Centre. Thank you for being so friendly, making sure we enjoyed our stay. Also, thanks again for the restaurant recommendations. This is the place to stay when visiting LA. Much better than staying in a hotel. It's a home, away from home. Kind regards, William

Eric and Mark-- I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed staying in your house. As I told Mark, the location was perfect-- just down the street from our daughter and son-in-law, and, most importantly, our brand new granddaughter! We love the neighborhood-- walked everywhere-- to the mall, restaurants, etc. The house was so cozy and comfortable, it was nice to come home to every night. We will definitely rent it again (and probably again and again) as we will be visiting frequently. Thanks again. Marcella Barry
Owner response:Marcella, what luck that we are able to be so close to your daughter, son-in-law and lovely new addition to the family :-) Great to have you and so glad you enjoyed your stay. Looking forward to seeing you again. best, Eric + Mark
