Bear Creek Canyon Vacation Home is ideally located in the pleasant mountain village of Idledale, Colorado, just west of Denver. Our home provides fantastic convenience to the best of both worlds, and at prices that are very affordable!


THE ATTRACTIONS:
Sun and Fun activities abound: acres of mountain parks and miles of hiking, biking and fishing are just steps away, yet it's only 35 minutes to downtown Denver (really!) and close to I-70. What else?
How about:
* Out your front door are miles of trails and nature galore in this park-within-a-canyon. Depending on snow cover, cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing and sledding can be done right in Lair Of The Bear park! (Sleds are in our garage).
* World famous Red Rocks Amphitheater, minutes away!
* Only fifteen minutes to historic Golden and the Coors Brewery and under ten to historic Morrison and Bandimere Speedway.
* A half-hour to the restored mountain gambling towns of Blackhawk and Central City, or the same the other direction to LoDo, Mile High Stadium, and 16th Street Mall in Denver!
* In the Winter, skiing at Loveland, A-basin and Echo Mountain in under an hour, or at Winter Park, Keystone and Copper Mountain only minutes more.
* The airport? Less than an hour!

THE HOME:
This unique and recently restored historic two-story, 3 bedroom/2 bathroom mountain home with sunny southern exposure and sunset deck views from the hot-tub is perched right above ST HWY 74, which provides easy access, winter or summer, to central Colorado. This road is also a stunning natural attraction in its own right: "The Lariat Loop" - a Colorado Scenic Drive.

Get lost in nature, or get to downtown...it’s all only minutes away!

Whether a family, a group of friends, or a business trip, our home is a perfect fit! Inside you'll find the original Colorado mountain home atmosphere: lots of windows, wooden floors, cozy furniture and a wood-burning stove. Three tidy and well-appointed bedrooms, and the den, combine to sleep 8 persons very comfortably. Yet, be assured you'll have modern comforts as well: free high-speed WI-FI internet,DISH television, surround-sound DVD/VHS system, and a full up-to-date kitchen.

New! Most furnishings, kitchen equipment, linens & towels and electronics were recently purchased within the last 2 years. Enjoy a freshly-outfitted vacation home!

*Downstairs features a single charming bedroom with a comfy queen bed, the den with sleeper sofa for 2, the TV/Video entertainment center and office. A ¾ bath, small play room, laundry room and garden-level access to the yard complete the floor.

*Upstairs has two bedrooms: One with a queen bed and great sunrise views through its many windows, and another with two twin beds with soft linens. Upstairs you will also find the sunny dining room, sitting area and wood burning stove, a ¾ bath and access to the hot tub, deck and garage. Our recently renovated kitchen is well equipped and provides two full settings for 8 guests, plus plastic ware for the kids.

*Outside you will find a new deck(approx Oct 2010) and yard with sitting nooks all around. The hot-tub(disconnected while deck is replaced-see above)faces West for awesome sunsets and Bear Creek can be clearly seen and heard as the evening calm arrives. Walk across the street and down the lane to connect quickly to miles of trails; from gentle strolls or rides along the creek to strenuous hikes or runs into the higher mountains, the trail system has something for all to enjoy, even snowshoeing or sledding in the winter! The creek features fly fishing too! And you don’t have to leave the yard to see wildlife. Mule deer and elk are regular guests to our property and surrounding hillsides, as are raccoons, foxes and multitudes of birds.
