Why the Owner Chose Tabernash

We love Grand county because it has everything you could want, from skiing in the winter to all the summer activities. Easier to get to from Denver than Summit County - no congested tunnel to worry about.

The Unique Benefits at this House

When you stay at the house, you are off in a quiet reserve - all the properties nearby are acre plus lots. When you step out on the balcony, you see mountains and trees, not someone else's house or driveway or balcony. But in a few minutes you can be at the ski hill, the grocery store, at the lake or golf course or doing any of the many activities in the area.

A
YMCA of the Rockies (Snow Mountain Ranch)

Overnight accomodations, mini golf, horseback riding, indoor pool. Activities open to the public.

B
Sol Vista ski area & Golf Course

Excellent beginner-intermediate family friendly ski area. Approximately 1,000 foot vertical. 18 hole golf course.

C
Winter Park Ski area

World class downhill ski and boarding area. From beginner to expert, this area has it all. Summer activities include alpine slide, mountain biking (ride the lifts up with bikes attached), mini golf, w

F
Devil's Thumb Ranch

Cross Country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, fishing

G
Tubing Hill

Rent a tube and slide down the famous Fraser tubing hill, ride back up on the tow.

Owner's Map of Tabernash

This property has been in the family for years, but we took over in 2001. It is a favorite place to get away and enjoy the mountains, scenery and serenity and the kids have wonderful memories of the great times at the mountain house. It is available when we are not using it.

Family of 8

Very clean, comfortable, and wonderful place to stay! We had 5 adults, 3 children and the cabin accommodated all of our family very well. The rooms were private and well insulated with a thermostat in each room. The beds were very comfortable and the recently remodeled kitchen was perfect! We loved how all 8 of us could sit on the couches in the family room and watch a movie all together comfortably with a wood-burning fire in the fireplace -- so cozy! We enjoyed the close proximity to Winter Park Resort for skiing and snowboarding. We also enjoyed the Grand County Rec Center where we all went swimming in the indoor pool which included a lazy river and water slide. The cabin was remote and private with a beautiful view, but it was also close to recreation, restaurants and shopping. It was ideal for our family! Also, the owners were courteous, organized and helpful. I would highly recommend this property to friends and relatives.

Home away from home

Guest: Don (Beaumont, Texas, USA)
Date of Stay: 11/22/11 Review Submitted: 11/28/11

The house was very clean, comfortable and well equipped for our Thanksgiving/birthday gathering of 10 which included three children 6 and under. The views are stunning and the house is centrally located for all kinds of summer and winter activities. In warmer weather I could see myself spending time on the 2nd floor porch with a cup of coffee and a good book. The owner was pleasant and very easy to deal with from start to finish. The tubing run in Fraser was the hit of the trip for young and old alike.

you won't be disappointed!

My husband and I enjoyed your beautiful home! We hoped to see the beautiful fall colors and were not disappointed! It was wonderful relaxing on the large deck and sitting in the comfortable chairs in the living room enjoying the amazing mountain views! The house was very clean and even larger than we expected. Everything we could possibly have needed was there--even games, puzzles, books and Dvd's! The house is conveniently located, (near restaurants and activities) but it feels pleasantly "away from it all!" Thanks so much for great value as well! Cathy and John (9/29-10/2/2011)

A home which exceeding our expectations!!

Guest: Steve (Vernon Hills, IL)
Date of Stay: 08/04/11 Review Submitted: 08/14/11

My family of 6 truly enjoyed the comfort level, location, and views that this home provided. Brian does an outstanding job of not only presenting the home through photos on VRBO, but he also provides information packets on things to do, areas of interest...the sort of things that help a family enjoy a location and all it has to offer around it. Enjoying the view of Byers Peak and the Valley through the trees out on the deck in morning while drinking coffee is something I could do all year round. Thanks again for having us in your home.

Nothing Short of Amazing!

Guest: Bonnie E (Lewisburg, PA)
Date of Stay: 07/06/11 Review Submitted: 07/12/11

This vacation home far exceeded our expectations for our stay near Tabernash. After arriving from the East Coast to attend a family wedding that was to be held at Devil's Thumb Ranch, we were pleased to walk into this home and immediately feel comfortable. We wanted for nothing---the home is equipped with everything from laundry detergent to ziplock bags to satellite tv! And the views and crisp, clean, humidity-free mountain air--unbelievable. Its location too is perfect! We took several day trips---Rocky Mountain National Park; Golden, CO to tour the Coors Brewery and then on to Boulder to the Celestial Seasonings Tea Tour; and Breckenridge, CO. If you are looking for a vacation home that will accommodate two families and provide privacy and comfort for all, then this is the home for you!

Owner response:Glad you enjoyed your stay. This is a family home that we use, but rent out from time to time. It is definitely not an investor-rental property. So we do keep it well supplied and comfortable for us, so you benefit.

This home easily held our party of six. Plenty of sleeping space and multiple bathrooms provided a very comfortable living arrangement for our ski trip to Winter Park. Big kitchen with wrap around bar made meal prep easy. This home is well equiped and everything worked as expected. Huge balcony off the living room. Views off the balony provided magificient background for our mountain get away.

Beautiful Experience

Date of Stay: 07/18/10 Review Submitted: 08/02/10

My husband and I stayed at this home in July. It was the highlight of our trip. We loved this beautiful, well maintained, comfortable home. The scenery was outstanding and I loved the wildflowers that covered the property. The owner sent accurate instructions and was immediately available for any questions. We loved the restaurant and spa at Devil Thumb's Ranch, Tabernash Tavern, and Grand Lake, all a short drive. I highly recommend this home for your vacation.
