CLEAR WATER canal off YOUR 40' PRIVATE DOCK The bay is right there-
We are at MM 105.8, in Key Largo, on a QUIET STREET, small community, with no traffic noise from route 1-Overseas Highway.
The home is on a LARGE 40' x 100' lot. We are gardeners and so continue to add flowers and PLANTS. It has palms, fruit trees and winding GARDEN paths through the property.
We have a WELL EQUIPED Open design KITCHEN- a range of spices- from zatar for hummus, to nutmeg for coffee. The kitchen has European and American coffee pots, blender, FROSTY mugs in the freezer, MICROWAVE, toaster oven,etc. Something you need specifically? ask us.
The bathroom has a BIG two-seated SHOWER & BIDET. It has two doors, one to the hallway and one to the master bedroom. Some amenities provided to get your vacation off to a good start.
LARGE TIKI HUT & YARD, BBQ gas grill, countertop with SINK, outside shower.
Toys available include water noodles, kayaks and two bikes for the asking.
There is parking on property with a fence and gate as well as off street parking. Our homeowner's community boat ramp, which is around the corner, makes life easy for boaters.
We are within 2 miles from John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, Dolphin Swim Facility, Community Pool, Boat rental & snorkeling Centers, Public library with internet, kayaking through the creeks and mangroves of the Everglades, great food & happy hours, Deep sea fishing trips, trips to the Coral reefs, medical facilities and health food store, coffee house, happy hour and gourmet restaurants.
If you are looking for getting out into the Everglades, birdwatchers wanting to do some birding, fishing to your heart's content, swimmers, snorkelers, divers wanting to check out some of the best coral reefs or just enjoying nature in Key Largo's tropical life,

HI! We are a fun-loving couple that are passionate about life. We love fixing up places- Eagle Cove Haven is just one of our VACAHAVEN success stories! We were able to afford her mainly because no one thought the home could be saved. She is another VACAHAVEN success story. We enjoy the renovating of properties together- it is very creative and fun to breathe new life into our places.
Personally, we love traveling- Europe, South America, The Orient, Israel. We have enjoyed staying at other owner vacation homes. Our next goal is to make a trip to Central America to see the sights, for birding, and going out on the reef.
Chanoch loves projects- creating & doing things- and for me, with my artistic slant, I help create our vacahaven - vacation environments with splashes of color and a serene, easy living, pampering, romantic feel.
For us, just a few of those good things are being in nature, birding, dancing, swimming, fishing, snorkeling out on the coral reefs, kayaking in the Florida bay among the mangroves, art projects, meeting new people, tropical fruits, gardening, music, the nightly Key Largo sunsets over the bay looking into the Florida Everglades, and just being quiet with nature and listening for a fish flop.
We also feel it is important to give back to our communities through support and volunteer efforts.
We think time away from the normal routines of life is important and vacations should be easy to enjoy. Key Largo is easy to enjoy!
Why the Owner Chose Sexton Cove
One of our friends- a big traveler himself, invited us down to Key Largo and the Florida Keys for a short visit.
We fell in love with the Florida Keys: the tropical weather- sun, breezes, flower-perfumed air and a slower life style. It is a 'Blue Zones" kind of retreat.
After looking throughout the Keys, we found Key Largo had all the feel of a tropical isle and had the most to offer us.
But why rent out to people you don't know?? Yes, there are risks involved, the benefits are many and we have met many wonderful people. Some of our repeat vacationers are from 17 years ago!
17 years ago, I started hosting vacationers in my New York City Home: Emerson's House, in Brooklyn NY. Some of our New York City vacation renters loved the idea of continuing their vacation in a totally different venue- Key Largo!
Why not? After seeing the sights and hustle bustle of New York City, why not relax in the Florida Keys! We were ourselves, doing it already. Working in New York City during the day, catching the Opera or dance performance at night, it was nice to know in 3 hours we could be back in the sun, swimming and fishing and birding in our little Haven in Key Largo!
This is why we decided on a vacation rental and to make it available for others to rent our Key Largo home for a vacation.
The love of the water, the nature, the breezes and blue skies, the artistic fluffy clouds and salmon/coral and periwinkle sunsets. Leave the hustle and bustle of Miami, it is easy to get to Key Largo. And, once here, it is just as easy to get out into nature: the many land and water nature preserves. The birding is fantastic here. We were concerned that it was too 'big' for an island getaway...What we found is we have the best of both worlds-when we need civilization, it is close by and the solitude and peace is in our backyard.
The Unique Benefits of this Mobile Home
The best way to explain the benefits may be to describe a 'one of a few typical days' when at our haven retreat.
Wake up to birds singing-going for a walk birding: walking from the house to the Dagny Johnson Key Largo Hammock Botanical State Park is a short walk. Two wonderful State Parks are right here! Getting out into the Everglades, seeing lots of birds, beautiful places for kayaking, swimming, even nice walking trails!
Return for breakfast on the porch, a little fishing off the deck and espresso brewing. Then its time for a kayak tour of the Everglades, leaving right from the dock. Taking the snorkel gear- plenty to see right in our bay and exploring among the mangroves.
After kayaking out in the bay, nothings better than jumping in the water off the dock for a short swim. Being able to see the bottom and my feet while in the water. Then a quick rinse of kayak gear and ourselves in the outside shower, playing with the plants - they grow so fast down here. Coming back for lunch - big salad, (I love wooden bowls for salad), hummus and pita.
For the afternoon, going with one of the snorkel/dive shops out to the reef. Back home, inside to a two seat hot shower where I can sit down and relax, throwing a robe on and sitting in the bedroom's screen porch, to watch the sunset. Chanoch is already out fishing off the dock, just to see 'who is visiting'.
Walking outside and throwing some fish on the BBQ and listening to the crickets while we eat dinner. Discuss the following day- snorkeling at the coral reefs, swimming with the dolphins or manatee, taking a bike ride to the ice cream shop, which place to go for some dancing and watch the sunset... Light a few candles and be at peace.

Giana, I cannot thank you enough. We had a fabulous visit and look forward to returning every year until we can retire somewhere in the keys. While we did not catch our limit in lobster (we only had snorkels, yuck!), we were able to share new adventures and teach our children wonderful facts about the area. Thank you for opening up your home, it was quite pleasant! Hopefully, we will make plans to return next year! Except this time, make the stay a bit longer! Thanks again! Amanda

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at Vacahaven. There was great communication prior and during our stay. Our hosts are very pleasant. The property is maintained well and comfortable. It has everything you need. I loved lounging on the screened porch and dock. It's close to everything too. I would suggest staying here if your going to the keys. I just loved it! The place was like an enchanted get away! The weather and breezes were wonderful and I enjoyed how easy it was to be with nature from the porches and dock.
