Location: Beach Lagoon, Sea Pines, Island Areas, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, USA (15 minutes to HH airport; 45 minutes to Savannah airport)
Accommodations: House, 5 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 5 Baths (Sleeps 10-14)
Keywords: ocean front beach house
New heated pool, warmth and charm on the beachfront! Newly expanded and rennovated kitchen (photos by the end of February). From the moment you walk in the house to be greeted by a famous and fun Walter Palmer pelican sculpture, the finishing touches on this charismatic 1964 house come from Savannah brick, aged heart pine floors, and knobby cypress and pecky-pine walls, reclaimed from a historic Savannah parish house. The house is buffered from the oceanfront by a 20x50 yard, beautifully landscaped open-space, and the front side of the house is bordered by two lagoons;, bringing the house to feel like a private, peaceful sanctuary! This timeless, beautifully designed home is featured in the first few pages of the book "Three Decades of Hilton Head Architecture".
The house has been meticulously maintained and improved over the years by a family member/property manager, who lives two miles away and is on call 24/7 to guarantee your satisfaction and answer any questions.
Two bedrooms have king beds, three bedrooms have pairs of twin beds, and two common-area rooms have fold-out couch-beds. Each bedroom has a private bath.
Relax on two decks at the beach dune (including "the island's best hammock"!), and dine on a large deck which spans most of length the house's beach-side.
"Beach Lagoon" offers a uniquely private beach, since only 2 rows of homes feed into the 3/4 mile long beach! Ordinarily, we try to keep the rental periods beginning and ending on Saturdays, but exceptions are possible, depending on rental demand.

Brought our family of five to stay in this gorgeous home and it felt like home as soon as we walked through the door. The location is wonderful, the house is set off the beach a little which makes it very private and quiet, but still beachfront. The views of the ocean are gorgeous from the house and porches. The kitchen is awesome for cooking. The pool is beautiful and the house is just so comfortable and spotless. We didn't want to leave. We plan to visit again. Greg is the best and he did show up in that gorgeous lime green Caddie!! He is a gracious host and is ready with information, helpful suggestions, directions, and to take family Christmas pictures!! If you are looking at Sea Pines, look no further!! There is lots of room for a big family, but it is perfect for a small one, too. Lots of room to spread out and find a quiet spot. We left some puzzles and books for the next visitors!! Enjoy!! We took our dogs, and a crate was provided so we didn't have to bring one. Oh, and if you are a Buckeye, make sure you visit Brian at Mangiamo's, especially on Game Day! Great food!! Salty Dog, too. Sea Pines is a beautiful area, lots to see and do, close to Savannah. We would recommend this home for sure!!

We are going to be staying in this home in November and we are so excited already,we cannot wait!! The main reason is that Greg has been so super helpful already and he has gotten us very excited about being there. We will write another review later, but just our booking experience was so good, I had to say something! I talked with so many people and places before we booked and nothing compared to Greg!! We are bringing our little family of 4, 1 baby and 2 pups and are so looking forward to relaxing and enjoying each other!!! Thank you, Greg!!!

I don't think we could have picked a more perfect spot, or a more perfect house for our early summer family getaway! Greg was very welcoming, and the house exceeded our expectations. The pictures of the backyard and pool definitely do not do it justice - the lot is truly beautiful, and so shady and lush. The pool was larger than we expected, and is located in a great spot . . . close enough to hear the ocean while swimming, but far enough away from the house that I did not have to worry about my 2 yr old going out to the pool alone. The kitchen is very well stocked, and we were able to do all of the meals for the 10 of us at the house every day. The bedroom layout is very good for large, extended families, and the bedrooms were quiet every night. Our doggie guests particularly loved the empty and gorgeous beaches and tide pools. Watching our dog play in the surf for the first time ever was very entertaining. ;) I already miss listening to the surf from the hammock. We would love to return to this house every year!

We have been coming to HHI since the 1980's with my family. This home is what my family and I have been looking for since our first trip to the island . Everything about this place reminds you of why you make the annual pilgrimage to the coast - relaxation. This front row home is everything you want it to be without the extravagant excess of other homes on the island. I say this to stress the importance of my next point. This is the most at home I have felt in a vacation home - period. I wouldn't change a single thing about this home. The home's extremely large lot and very private beach access, excellent upper level deck and lower decks for beach gazing, and amazing pool is all top notch. The lower deck at the beach was great for sun bathing!! The listing as well as the photos of this place cannot do it justice. Far better in person. For an original home it was extremely clean and well maintained. I would recommend this home to anyone and everyone who wants a true HHI vacation experience. This will be the first home I look at when planning my future HHI vacation. If your looking for something that's a hit with 4 teenage ( 17 & 18) boys this it.

That is what it felt like -- after a month in this wonderful house. Where to begin? It is huge -- and easily accommodated the nine people we eventually grew to. The kitchen is fabulous to work in and in the span of over 30 days we went out to eat maybe five, six tops. You just don't want to leave! Ahh, and the beach deck. One walk on the beach makes it apparent that this house has something that almost NONE of the other homes have (even those big old mansions!) A perfect spot nestled between the house and the beach, with plenty of seating for a big crowd and yes, I would be remiss not to mention the hammock! Ahhhhhh. A book, a cool drink, the sound of the ocean and a gently swinging hammock. I am not a napper, but I caught myself sleeping more than once in that thing! Greg is great and helped us out with anything we asked about -- and you never knew what he was going to arrive with in his lime green convertible caddy! Mattresses, deck chairs...! It was a great house for all ages -- my teenagers played pool and took advantage of the ocean kayak that was so generously offered; while the 20-somethings lounged on the beach deck and soaked up the sun. My father had his ginormous master bedroom sanctuary to get away from the noise if he chose and at night we would all gather around the large dining room table for meals and games afterward. Great house. Great times.

Ok...I really don't want to reveal how amazing this place is because it will not be available when I want it...but I am not that kind of person and I have to tell you that this is paradise! The house is "vintage" Hilton Head with all of the luxury of this era. BIG house and really comfortable. Greg, the property manager is an amazing person and massage therapist! Who needs the Ritz Carlton when you can have Greg on the Beach Deck give you a massage?! By the way, pictures don't do the property justice. Truly Amazing!

My family and I have stayed in this house many times -- I love how it is settled into the majestic, mature trees, and I love the meandering sand path to the beach. I have never been anywhere else that has the same welcoming feeling as #2 East Beach Lagoon. We all love the incredible hammock the best!!! I hope we get to stay here many more times. By the way, the property manager is a massage therapist who gives THE BEST massages. Try one on the beach deck!

We couldn't think of a better place to spend a vacation. The house is lovely, plenty of room, everything is clean and comfortable, and the best views around. Everything you need and extras are included in this beautiful home. We sat on the deck each morning having our breakfast and listen to the waves crashing on shore. There was always a wonderful breeze and great trees to keep it cool. The hammock on the lower deck, by the water, was my favorite stop to read my book or watch the people walking on the beach. I don't think you could find a better place to stay. All are needs were met and we would recommend this home to anyone wanting a great vacation spot. We are can't wait to spend another vacation at this lovely property.
