Fully furnished 1952 Albert Frey original brick house. This is a three bedroom, with the third being used as an amazing office, and 2.5 bath 2400sq ft private residence on ¾ of an acre. The office can be easily returned to a third bedroom to accomodate more people. There is poured terrazo flooring throughout with contemporary shag carpet in the bedrooms, a two car enclosed garage, a massive 10 foot deep salt water pool with jacuzzi, a LARGE kitchen with all new Viking appliances, central air conditioning, wood burning fireplace, an outdoor BBQ, a citrus grove and a creek, panoramic mountain views, completely private and fully landscaped. The house comes complete with internet access, digital cable plus Tivo, and an indoor-outdoor stereo system/dvd, and enough teak patio furniture to accomodate 36 guests. If you are looking for an architecturally significant home with peaceful open space and privacy here it is. We are 1/4 mile close to down town PS, yet away from all the noise.

The Unique Benefits at this House
QUIET PRIVACY! This property is fully walled in, with double and triple layers of hedges around the perimeter. We only have neighbors on one side, with unobstructed mountain views and total privacy. Along with our quiet location, the gardens, the creek, the citrus grove, and the pool really make this a relaxing place. The house is really awesome too!

We are private owners of this architectural masterpiece. Albert Frey was a well known and respected architect here in the Coachella valley. His buildings include the famous Palm Springs visitors center, the Frey house above the Palm Springs Desert Museum, and our house. It is all brick, with vaulted wood beamed ceilings and poured terrazo floors. Once you see our home you will want to come back again and again. We have several repeat visitors as a result.

This house is a hidden gem. The photos do not do justice to the outdoor area. The landscaping is stunning, using mature plantings to create a serenity I have not felt in the 12 years I've been coming to PS. There are secret seating areas for reading and napping all over the yard. Great location, close to the Indian Reservations. The terrazzo floors are amazing, the kitchen was great, and everything was very clean and comfortable. This neighborhood is extremely quiet so take advantage of this incredible price and pay for the pool heat. Staying here is a great opportunity to experience a 1950s simplicity and embrace the Mid Century Modern aesthetic...with Wi-Fi!

My husband, our Corgi and I found peaceful bliss at this retro-cool, midcentury home and it's magnificent yard. We woke up to views of the mountains, 100 year old trees & succulents and to the sound of birds singing. The saline pool looks natural and serene in it's setting. The gourmet kitchen is a joy to cook and entertain in. And every room is as comfortable as being at home. The owner Bob really makes you feel welcome and is terrific to work with; very responsive and accommodating to your needs. This home is spacious, beautiful and reasonable--a perfect getaway. We need to book our next trip now--availability is tight--the secret is out!!

We stayed here for two weeks and enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the expansive, private grounds and pool. The house is a wonderful example of architect Albert Frey's design. The kitchen is incredibly large and well-appointed. The location is convenient to downtown and offers wonderful views of the mountains from the pool and yard. We will be back!

We rented this property June 19th - 26th 2011. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay. We have 2 kids, a 9 year old and 6 year old. Both had a great time. The pool and hot tub were great. The pool is HUGE with a diving board. If you do not want to be in the sun while watching the kids swim, there is a wonderful tree under which you can place a lounge chair. My son's eyes are very sensitive when he swims. He had no problem with this pool. In fact the pool is serviced twice a week. There were rafts in the garage. We were here during very high temperatures. 114 degrees one day. So clean! The house AC was able to easily keep up with the heat. We would turn the AC off when we left and the Temperature would only go up a few degrees. The kitchen was WONDERFUL. The pictures do not do it justice. It is large and has all Viking appliances. There are mature grapefruit and lime trees in the back. Check the trees before you buy fruit. The fruit was wonderful. The landscaping was marvelous. Such a relaxing setting and 100% private. Beautiful views of the mountains. We enjoyed the outdoor speakers. The bedrooms are very spacious and the beds were comfy. If you play the piano, you are in luck, as there is one in the den! This house is just a few minutes away from Palm Canyon Dr., where they have the Thursday night street fair Villagefest( a must do!) and many restaurants and shops. This is a very special house. We had no problems with the home. Bob, the owner, was wonderful. Very helpful. You will love it here!

We've been to Palm Springs several times, and stayed in this beautiful Frey home on a large, private, wonderfully lanscaped lot in June and can't say enough good things about it. The home is in terrific condition, updated but true to the original form and plans; the lot and landscaping make it seem as though you're on a multi-acre estate...very private and quiet, with lots of trees (including many citrus fruit trees), a deep saline pool and spa, a creek-like water feature, and killer views of the mountains with no visible power lines...best views we've seen anywhere; the kitchen is large and modern with top quality appliances; the bedroooms are cool and quiet; the living area is hip and swanky. Last but certainly not least, the owner (Bob) is extremely nice, responsive, and helpful...among the best owners we've encountered on VRBO. Strongly recommend this home for a wonderful, relaxing vacation!

We have rented numerous homes in Palm Springs over the years and none have topped this property. The beautifully landscaped and private yard with the pool and hot tub are second to none. The home is spacious with unique architecture combining beautiful wood and stone. The huge kitchen with the latest, greatest appliances will make you want to cook and spend some time there as well. Finally, the location is perfect. Just outside of the downtown bustle to have a neighborhood feel but yet close enough to walk to town.

This is our 3rd visit to Palm Springs and 1st to this unique property. We found it a perfect setting for our week-long Thanksgiving holiday (2 couples, 1 teen). This clean, well appointed home has plenty of comfortable areas to gather; we especially enjoyed the large garden and pool, the spacious kitchen/dining area and living room. Garden is nicely landscaped and private. Kitchen has top-notch appliances and utensils, perfect for at-home cooking. The two bedrooms are nicely appointed with comfortable beds, TV and lots of closet space. A third bed set up in the study was very comfortable for our teen. The property is as-described on VRBO and well represented by the photos. The owner was very prompt and businesslike in answering queries, he met us on arrival to acquaint with the property then followed up next day with a phone call to ensure all was OK. Property is on a quiet street just outside of downtown. There are small markets and shops within walking distance, larger stores (Von's, Target) are a short drive to the south. The Palm Springs Air Museum is a don't-miss for aviation buffs, and amusements (Boomer's, theatres) are a short drive away. Nice! Definitely recommend this property.
