If you are looking for an elegant rustic cabin with spectacular views and a great location, look no further. Our "Holiday Home" cabin is conveniently located on Fifth St. in the heart of Crested Butte. It is half a block from Elk Avenue (the historic main street with restaurants, bars, and shopping), just a block from the bus (offering access to lift-served mountain biking during the summer and skiing on the slopes of Crested Butte Mountain Resort--6 minutes away), and within three blocks of just about everything else you might need or want--Camp 4 Coffee, the library, groceries, ATM, movie theater, churches, Chamber of Commerce, Performing Arts Center.
Our Holiday Home was recently gutted down to the rafters and four walls. Everything has been updated and built with energy efficiency in mind--from the in-floor radiant heat to insulation, chinking and new windows and doors. The remodeling project won an award from the "2008 Project of the Year" review by the Crested Butte Board of Zoning and Architectural Review!
From the minute you walk through the front door, you will feel welcome and at home with the open floor plan. The large beams and log walls tie the living, dining and kitchen spaces together, a place where family memories will be created. The living room is a great place for family get-togethers, playing cards or games (a huge selection is provided in the Kid's Bunkroom) in front of the stone fireplace or watching a movie on the large screen TV after a long day of biking, hiking or skiing.
The large kitchen (with Electrolux and GE Profile stainless steel appliances) has cherry cabinets and granite countertops and is perfect for cooking up family meals. And with a four-stool central island, everyone can join in the fun baking cookies or a pan of lasagna.
The first floor also has the Kid's Bunkroom, equipped with bunk beds (for kids only) and a futon (double-bed) for those extra guests. Tons of games and a TV, complete with DVD player and VCR, will keep kids occupied for hours (bring the video gaming console along). And when the kids get bored of video games, they can take in all of the "ornaments from around the world" that decorate the log walls (maybe add an ornament from your home town). Around the corner is a half bath for those late night glasses of water.
Upstairs, the open staircase leads you to the other two bedrooms, two full baths and the laundry closet with a stacked washer/dryer. Spectacular views of Mt. Crested Butte can be seen from the staircase windows and both bedrooms. The first bedroom has a full bed with a flat screen TV and DVD player, with fluffy cotton robes hanging in the closet. The master suite has a flat screen TV, CD player with music library, queen bed and adjoining bathroom with Travertine marble, a glassed-in shower, double sink and Jacuzzi tub to work out those kinks after a hard day of play.
We also offer extra amenities to give you more time to have fun. If you want a fully stocked refrigerator when you arrive, we will do your grocery shopping. If you want to rent skis or bikes, we will help you reserve any equipment you need. If you want to ski with the best, our former US Ski Team member daughter will show you the best runs on the mountain, and if you want a home-cooked meal, we'll cook your dinner for you! We want to make your vacation the best you have ever had, so let us know if there is anything else that we can help with to make this visit extra special. And all monthly stays will have a one-time housecleaning mid-way through your stay.

Bunkbeds are for "Kids Only", with no one less than six years old on the top bunk. Our "Ornaments from Around the World" wall exhibit will keep kids interested in our Holiday Home, encouraging them to discover where each ornament comes from. We welcome additional ornaments from your home town to be added to the wall, if you'd like to join our collection from visitors around the world!

Why the Owner Chose Crested Butte
We chose our vacation rental becasue of its location and proximity to restaurants, bars and nightlife. Once we arrive "home" we never use the car becasue everything is within a few blocks in any direction. In fact, during winter especially we encourage you not to bring a car as the free transit service in our valley is exceptional!

We bought our log cabin because of the great location. It is in the heart of Crested Butte, and within walking distance of everything! You'll especially enjoy our courtyard where we spend many summer Butte evenings listening to music from the festival while sipping wine and barbecuing our dinner. And we are just a short walk to the sled hill and hockey rink, in case the kids still have energy after a day on the slopes! Come to Holiday Home and you'll never want to leave.
