Why the Owner Chose Lookout Mountain
Unlike other more populated mountain areas in GA, Cloudland, GA, where Ridgetop is located, is private with little to no tourism to interfere with one's enjoyment of mountain living. And yet there is easy access to nearby TN and AL, plus several restaurants, a hang glding school, antiques, and grocery. And yet many of Pamela's guests once at Ridgetop refuse to go away from that spectacular view and stay put, cooking, playing games, watching one of the movies from the video library, and enjoying family and friends. You won't want to leave and you will want to return year after year. She is sure of it!
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
Enjoy the view, the oversized hot tub, the new Jennaire grill, barbecuing outside, the buckstove that heats the entire house, the walk down the quaint dirt road in front of the house. Select from over 100 movies. Sit at the outdoor bar that makes you feel as if you are soaring over Shinbone Valley below. You cannot help but feel at peace and relaxed while visiting Ridgetop.
Owner's Map of Lookout Mountain
Along with Julie Ellis, Pamela Evans owns this wonderful home on the top of Lookout Mountain. Many years ago, Pamela starting visiting the area when a friend of hers ran a girls camp in nearby Mentone. She fell in love with the mountain, the cool air, the views, the privacy and decided to purchase a home on the brow in an area called Eagles' Roost by the locals. One of her favorite singers from the 1970s was Jessie Colin Young who sang about his own mountaintop home called Ridgetop -- that's how this special place got its name. Pamela spent years furnishing Ridgetop with antiques and charming artwork. She rebuilt the deck to make it huge enough to accommodate a large hot tub and full living area with outdoor dining. And most recently she updated the kitchen with all new appliances. Ridgetop is a one of a kind experience and Pamela loves being able to share her special home with you.

My husband and I, daughter and fiance, and 2 other couples had an amazing stay this past long weekend at Ridgetop! Talk about scenery, comfort and luxury all in one. I was amazed that the house and everything advertised about the rental was even better than anticipated. Very much privacy, felt like we were the only ones on the mountain. There was plenty of room for all of us without running into eachother around the house......the kitchen was very large and wonderfully stocked with everything you would need to create even a large holiday meal! It was very serene, the view from the hot tub on the deck was indescribable and we cannot wait to go back!

This Private Vacation Rental has breath taking views and too many amenities to mention. I went with a group of men for a retreat and we were never bored. We were able to watch unlimited satelite television and use the free internet connections to stay connected with the world when we needed to be and then disconnect when we wanted peace and quiet. I would suggest this cabin to everyone who wants a get away and have the best of both worlds. You're able to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner and have all the utensils you need right at your fingertips on the property.....need I say more? Amazing!!!

After having stayed in many lovely retreat places on Lookout Mountain, this one rates the best view and ambiance!!! The huge deck and comfortable furniture only facilitate a great stay. The doors across the front can be opened onto deck to bring the "outside in." And I loved the wildlife which entertained me on occasion! Anyone wanting well furnished home and comfort as well as peaceful vista will enjoy this very much...and yet it's close to the action of surrounding areas and Chattanooga if this is also on your agenda.

The pictures do not even begin to describe Lookout Mountain. My family and I vacationed there for about a week and could not get enough of the place. The land all around was perfect to go on a nature walk with the dogs and enjoy the beauty without all the exhaust and garbage you would find in a city or even a town. The view was spectacular not just during the day but at nighttime when the moon and stars lite up the open fields below. The hot tub was perfect for the hot night and the bon fire was that much better for the cool ones. The house itself had everyday essentials that made the trip that much easier to enjoy without running around to the nearby store. The house was so clean and comfortable making it easy for us all to sleep at night and find a bed just right. Whether it was in the house or on the screened in porch. There is no where else I would have vacationed with my family that was as peaceful and beautiful as Lookout Mountain. I would definitely recommend Lookout Mountain for anyone who is looking to get away and enjoy every waking second with their friends, family, and loved ones. -The Dawson's

We had a great time and really enjoyed the views. During our stay we went to Chattanooga a couple of times and the drive up and down the mountain was spectacular. Just wish we could have stayed longer and enjoyed the jacuzzi a few more days. I will recommend this location to several of our friends and family. Thanks to Julie for really helping us out on such short notice and for working with us, she was awesome.

My husband, myself, and our daughter spent a week at Ridgetop. We had a great time. We went to Ruby Falls, Rock City, the Incline Railway, Cloudland Canyon State Park, DeSoto Falls, and Little River Falls. The cabin was great. It has all the amenities you need. The view is incredible. We highly recommend it and we will return someday. It was the most relaxing vacation ever.

We recently stayed here and found the property very comfortable, clean, and cozy. The view is to die for and because of the remote location it was relaxing and stress free. It's about 40 minutes to Chattanooga and the same to HYW 75 so for us it was convienient.

We had a wonderful time over Memorial Day weekend. we went to Ruby Falls (beautiful), Rock City (surprisingly interesting), and the Incline Railway. Everyone went zip lining (couldn't take photos though) - a wonderful area. The cabin was terrific - amazing view and very homey! I highly recommend this rental. A pleasure all the way around.

My husband and I spent a long week-end in this beautiful cabin in mid-November. It was a really nice time and the cabin has everything you could want for a relaxing getaway. While it was too warm to use the buck stove or have an outdoor fire in the pit, we were able to open up the doors and enjoy the air. The view is incredible, furnishings very comfortable and we would love to return.
