This charming Craftsman home in downtown San Luis Obispo was recently restored by a decorator. It is comfortably furnished with a mix of new and old furnishings and has a relaxing deck/yard.
It's a short walk on pleasant streets to downtown shops, theaters, restaurants (some on the creek). Three blocks to Amtrak station; less than two miles to the airport.
The area is an outdoor paradise with beaches about 30 minutes away and excellent hiking, biking trails (road or mountain) very close by. The city has been named as a Bicycle Friendly Community.
The weather is typically warm and sunny in the summer and cooler but sunny in the winter. San Luis Obispo is on Highway One about 200 miles from both Los Angeles and San Francisco. Hearst Castle, elephant seal viewing, excellent birding, kayaking, and wine tasting are all nearby. Adventure sports and hot air ballooning are within 30 minutes. Winetasting from Santa Barbara to San Miguel. There are music, book, film and art festivals throughout the year. San Luis Obispo and the surrounding communities offer MANY free concerts.
