This unique back country cabin has a surprisingly updated interior that makes for a very warm and comfortable home to relax in after a day in the back country. We have all the modern conveniences such as a large flat screen TV/DVD player, modern appliances, laundry, new wood stove large bathtub and comfortable beds.
Donner Frog Creek Lodge is located one half mile from Donner Pass Rd. and one mile from Donner Lake. We are situated at the end of a large wildflower filled meadow with Frog creek meandering through it. View wildlife from the deck. Take beautiful hikes right from the back deck, checkout nearby swimming holes and alpine lakes. Small waterfalls crash through narrow canyons. Its close proximity to the Pacific Crest Trail makes it a great for place to stop for a few nights and have a relaxing rest in a comfortable bed and a hot shower/tub. There are trails around the meadow that are great for taking in the amazing scenery. We are surrounded by hundreds of acres of forest land and beautiful mountain views that are prime for snowshoeing, ski decents, crosscountry skiing, in the winter. The summer offers rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking and wildflower walks with amazing views. There are also great swimming holes.
Food, backcountry guide services, or shuttle drivers can also be arranged if desired. We have some snowshoes for rent. Please inquire about other optional services we may provide. We are happy to stock the cabin with whatever you desire, prior to your stay. We attempt to groom the trail with our snow-cat in the winter. During large storms this is not always possible but there will always be a good trail.

It is difficult to describe the uniqueness of Donner Frog Creek Lodge. It is a very special place. Everyone who has stayed with us talks about the memories they have taken away. Where else in this area can you have a remote valley all to your self with a private creek and wildlife everywhere, with skiing and snowshoeing out the backdoor one minute and the next you can be in the Town of Truckee

Angela and I purchased the property and house in 2005. We remodeled the cabin and added the solar system into what it is today. We originally purchased the property for our love of outdoor play. We are avid rock/ice climbers and share a true love for back country skiing. This place has it all right out the back door. We lived here a couple years prior to having kids. Then decided we should share it with everyone else
