Why the Owner Chose Penticton
We are a family of 5 with two boys who are very involved with hockey and have been attending the Okanagan Hockey School and Academy for 7 years. This had us spending two or three weeks in the Penticton area each summer and we fell in love with it. When our older son decided to attend the Hockey Academy 3 years ago, we thought it would be a good idea to purchase a home in the area. Originally looking for a home with a basement suite, we ended up buying a gorgeous view instead!
The Unique Benefits at this House
Enjoying the deck overlooking Okanagan Lake, fabulous bird life right in our back yard, easy access to both downtown Penticton (5 minutes) and Summerland (10 minutes), beaches, floating down the River Channel, touring wineries...
Several blocks of Main Street are blocked off on Saturday mornings and Tuesday nights for the Farmer's Market...lots of artisans too

Not a good stay

8 of us stayed at this property during the beginning of July. The place itself is decent and does have a small patio with a lake view however it is quite far from town. Definately not walking distance to anything at all. The property claims to sleep 8 comfortably but unfortunately that was not the case. They do have two queen size beds, two single beds and a sofa bed. We pulled out the sofa bed upon arrival and noticed that some springs were broken and there was no way that two people would sleep comfortably on it. Luckily we had an air mattress which was used on the floor as a bed. In hindsight we should have taken pictures of the broken sofa bed and complained to the owner but really we were just there to relax and figured that they were already well aware of the state of their sofabed. You have to give a substantial damage deposit to stay at this property and we were just returned ours this last week. The owners claimed that we broke the sofa bed and that we lost a pillow case(which they later found ) which would require them to replace the whole comforter set. After much back and forth and insistance on our part we finally did get our damage deposit back but not until almost two months after the fact. Would definately not recommend this property due to its proximity from town and the very poor nature in which the owners treat the renters. Not a very good way to get repeat business.
