Our home has an excellent location near the ski lifts in SQUAW VALLEY SKI RESORT (Olympic Valley) in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Northern California only five miles from Lake Tahoe. This private home is THREE-QUARTERS OF A MILE (sunny side close to lifts) from Squaw’s ski lifts (15 minutes walk on quiet back roads) and it is only one house away from the bus shuttle (runs every 20 minutes) to lifts.
Our home is five miles from Tahoe City on glorious Lake Tahoe, 10 miles from the quaint town of Truckee, 46 miles to Reno, and 200 miles on Interstate 80 from San Francisco. Our home has ease of access and spacious parking for four autos.
Our lovingly decorated and carefully maintained home offers all the amenities for a wonderful stay. Renters love this redwood home (interior wood walls, exterior recently painted), standing among tall redwoods and aspens with views of Squaw Valley meadow, the golf course and the mountains. The interior layout is ideal for two families or a group as it sleeps up to 10 (8 in beds, and also choices of sofa bed, child's rollaway, futon, and baby/toddler's crib-playpen. We have our own GENERATOR incase of electricity failure in the valley.
The GROUND FLOOR has two bedrooms (queen bed in one, and two twins or king in the other), a bathroom and a laundry. Hot tub, on the exterior deck on this floor is enclosed in a lattice screen for privacy. During winter, snowdrifts surround the hot tub and snow gives way to wild flowers in spring, summer and fall.
The MIDDLE FLOOR contains an open kitchen, dining and sitting area with wood burning fireplace. The sitting area has a queen sofa bed. Off the living room, the deck has sun and tree-shade in summer.
The TOP FLOOR: bathroom and two bedrooms (master bedroom with queen, and the smaller bedroom has two twins or can be a king).
Professional cleaning service before arrival and after departure. The parking area has space for four autos and is kept professionally ploughed. The house is less than a mile to ski lifts and only one house away from the bus shuttle.

- Kid Friendly: Parents need to be aware there are cleaning fluids under 3 sinks. Parents are responsible for safety of kids, monitor use of hot tub, and lock after each use. Otherwise this house is kid friendly since it does not have breakable items in the house. Many games, books and movies for kids, also sleds.
- Minimum Age Limit for Renters: College "party" groups not accepted. Home can not be rented nor contract signed by person under age 21.

Why the Owner Chose Squaw Valley (Olympic Valley)
We bought the home at squaw because it's got the best ski mountain in Northern California. Beginners can go in the tram to the top where there
are lovely easy slopes. Intermediates enjoy an amazing selection of terrain all over the mountain. For experts this mountain is heaven.
We enjoy all four seasons here. Spring is beautiful, summer is perfect and there's lots of outdoor activities to do. Fall is beautiful with the aspens turning gold. Many locals, who moved here for the ski season, say they find the other seasons just as wonderful as they love mountain biking, hiking, rafting, cycling, and other outdoor activities.
The Unique Benefits at this Private Home
We love spring, summer and fall here. It's the most relaxing place, We sit on the deck in the shade of Aspens and read novels.
We don't do all the activities around the lake that we used to do when the kids were with us--like swimming in the lake, rafting down the Truckee River, riding the horses that are for trail rides (stable in Squaw's Meadow), or hiking down the mountain from High Camp.
We still shop in North Shore and the Truckee boutiques.
We just use the house as a place to kick back and totally relax, although we like walking around the neighborhood and walking along the Truckee River to Tahoe City. And dining in the valley. I love it here and stay here more and more, and consider it my primary home--although it's available for renters. The house's tranquility makes it an ideal place for reading and writing.
