Kona Isle is a taste of the real aloha of Hawaii. After a day of sightseeing and beaches, enjoy the relaxation of our barbecue area with picnic tables near the shore, or reclining on lounges under the palm trees on the white sand beach, where you can watch the sunsets and whales in the winter. Our pool is solar heated so it is comfortable all year. There is a salt-water pool adjacent to the property that is great fun when the waves are pounding in.
Kailua Town is 2 ½ miles north and Keauhou is 5 miles to the south; both with shopping, restaurants, music, snorkeling, grocery stores and golfing.
We hope to make your visit to the Big Island and Kailua-Kona a wonderful experience.

- THe condo is conveniently located on Alii Drive which runs along the ocean from Kailua town to the Keauhou area. It is an easy walk into town and a fairly regular shuttle bus system. This area of the Big Island still has a small town feel with many of the major retailers on the outskirts of town such as Target, KMart, WalMart, Costco, and Safeway, Lots of restuarants and shopping within 2-5 miles each direction. Georgous beaches such as Kua Bay, Hapuna, Mauna Kea, to the north beyond the airport. Two major historic sites or museums. Hulihe'e Palace, one of 3 remaining royal palaces, located downtown Kauila across from the oldest church in Hawaii. South of Kona is the Pu'uhonua o Honaunau (Place of Refuge) historic site. Just a few of the wonderful spots to visit....moreless

Small place, close to everything
Small place, close to everything
This place is a little dated but comfortable. The first night we arrived we noticed roach traps everywhere. This was a big concern for us. The following day we spoke to the owner and she assured us it was from last spring when the buildings got tented and sprayed for bugs. We did not see any live bugs in our stay. One the other hand this place has everything you could ever want in it. Beach chairs, boogie board, towels, paper towels, some condiments, laundry derterjent and on and on. It was great having the laundry facilities. The free wifi worked great. The view was nice without being so close to the ocean that the waves might keep you up at night. The building an location felt very safe. The pool was great. Close to lots of beaches. The owner was around and very helpful as was the building manager. The day after we arrived a new lazy boy arrived now the couch and the fridge just need to be replaced. I would recommend this place.

Owner response: Thank you for your review. Salt air is hard on appliances and the refrigerator is next on our list to continue to upgrade the unit. Roach traps are there for a purpose. They are needed to keep the roaches out as they are a common nuisance in any tropical area.

We loved staying at the Kona Isle condo. The view of the ocean was great, it was located close to shopping and restaurants and the neighbors were quiet and respectful. The only downfall which we knew about ahead of time was the lack of an air conditioner but there were plenty of fans available for our use. We will definately recommend this place to others!

Owner response: Thank you for your review. Having our guests enjoy their trip is our number one hope. We believe the ocean breezes and fans help to make this a tropical trip without being behind closed doors. Mahalo.
This condo was perfect for our needs: clean, close to downtown, ocean view, free parking spot, private pool and relaxing area complete with grills, salt water pool next door. You can tell the condo owners care about their place. It was clean, up to date, and included all the necessary kitchen essentials, picnic/grill items, and beach supplies. I will definitely go back!!!!

Loving Kona Isle
Loving Kona Isle
We have rented this condo for two years in a row and look forward to returning in 2012. The condo is always well stocked with all the things you need, even down to beach chairs for trips to the ocean. Always clean and a wonderful view from the lanai, something we never tire of. Skorkeling is just a five minute drive down the road and the experience is like nothing else. Close also to the farmers market for all your fresh fruit and veggies. Much to do on this wonderful island, and the weather is always wonderful. The people are always friendly, and make you feel like you really belong . Jack and Joanne are most accommodating and truly show the "aloha spirit". We love it here.

Our Private Paradise
Our Private Paradise
My husband and I recently had a grand getaway for our 28th anniversary. This unit was perfect for us. It has one bedroom with a door so I can get up and not disturb hubby who now likes to sleep in (how we change). We found all the kitchen stuff that we needed. I like the idea of going out to eat for fun, not a requirement, that is so expensive. The complex is very clean, both inside and out, right on the ocean and the community inside it is easy and friendly. The complex is also near enough to get a nice walk in the morning. In town we discovered some great restaurants even for breakfast (my favorite meal) like Island Lava Java, U Top It and Lulu's. For dinner The Fish Hopper was tremendous, their special of prime rib and shrimp was very reasonable and delicious. Stuck in the middle is a very good farmer's market perfect to find the great fresh fruit that makes eating well easy. You could easily do without a car and just enjoy the ocean and Kailua-Kona all on foot. The description and photos were very accurate. The owner was very kind and answered all of my questions. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend or relative. Mahalo for the great time!

We had a wonderful time in Kona. This unit was like home to us. The view from the picnic area was amazing, and the pool was a great place to cool off. We were sad to leave and even sadder we only had 1 week. We stayed in the unit from 02/27/09- 03/05/09. The weather was perfect, everyone said it was a little chilly, but coming from rainy Portland,OR it felt like paradise.

Year Purchased: 1990
About the owner: Hawaii has always been a special place for both Jack and me. He started coming in the 1970's. When we met in the late 1980's, Kona was the first place we spent a vacation and we have been coming back every year since then. The rest of the year is spent in Oregon in a small town outside of Portland. We are both Oregonians. I'm a native and Jack is a transplant from Montana. My pastime is Oregon history and Jack likes to garden and grows great vegetables.
Why the Owner Chose Kona Isle:
Kona Isle became our second home almost accidentally. We were vacationing in Kona in the spring and were looking for a place for our next visit. After spending a few weeks here we knew this was where we wanted to be. And we have never regretted our decision. It is really a special place for beauty, relaxation, friendliness and close to all the attractions, shopping and restaurants.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Sometimes the major decision of the day, after breakfast on the lanai, is whether to go down to the beach and sit under a tree in a lounge chair and read, swim a bit, or do some sightseeing. All we know is that soon it is time for dinner and we haven't done all we planned on doing. Life goes slower in Kona. Or it can go as fast as you want. Hawaii Excise and Transit Tax No. W14684625-01
