My husband and I just got married at the Sycamore in Sept. I have to say it was the most amazing experience, and the entire stay was beyond anything we had hoped for. This would be a GREAT place for a family reunion or small wedding. The rooms are so spacious, and the house so well laid out-we hardly knew we had 10 people staying through the weekend. The home is beautifully decorated, and gave us a very upscale, but "at home" Zen kind of feel. The patio/fountain area is very serene and the perfect place for morning coffee, while the quaint out-door jet pool is very relaxing set in a little garden alcove. The main bedroom suite is just a dream to stay in, w/ the adjoining master bathroom having a double head shower, and deep jetted bath. The land surrounding the home is beautifully maintained and consists of wandering paths around a nice sized pond, acres of grass, and gorgeous trees. Perfect for picnic's and nature walks. I noticed there is no hand-rail around their wood decking, which might be an issue if you had toddlers, as the house does sit on top a bit of a hill. That wasn't an issue for us. It was nothing but good times at a great place, owned by wonderful people. I highly recommend this home to you!

It was the best of times...What a beautiful house and we will especially miss he plasma TV's. The fire pit was epic. we loved spending time in the hot tub. The cascading waterfall was wondrous and calming; the Koi Pond simply scrumtrulescent. We came together to celebrate the wedding of 2 of our best friends and the Sycamore house made for an excellent home base. Cannot wait to return...just cannot wait. The Gang, August 2010, Seattle, WA

Our family Thanksgiving was made much more beautiful because of our stay here. Everyone was amazed at the beauty and elegance of the property. We had plenty of room and felt truly at home. Our relatives in Kingston loved the place as well. You provided us with every amenity and natural beauty. Thank you!

It is without hesitation that I recommend this property for a family reunion, a vacation with friends or a corporate retreat. The moment you walk in the door you feel relaxed and welcome thanks to the careful attention given to every detail. The home is spacious and private. The grounds are beautifully planned and maintained. Nearby is the city of Seattle many small tourist towns, mountain hiking and beaches.

Four couples came together to celebrate a 56 year old and a 30 year friendship. What a great time we had playing golf, enjoying the waterfall, and eating gourmet meals. Your home is wonderful and oh, so comfortable. Your kitchen is stocked with a lot of great things for cooking. We hope to return and will tell all our friends of a great stay. A wonderful family holiday venue. Sycamore Retreat was a fantastic place for our family to spend 2 sunny weeks with family friends. The house is conveniently placed to explore Bainbridge Island, the Olympia Peninsula and all the other wonders of Washington State. We were able to visit Seattle several times and the ferry rides always gave us something new to look at whether it was fog or sea lions swimming in Puget Sound! The house lived up to the web site and was even more amazing, especially to us London Brits! We enjoyed the space and quiet and the wildlife that came to visit. We felt like we were in a Disney movie when deer came visiting along with chipmunks who played just outside the window! We even enjoyed occasionally hearing the cayotes howling in the middle of the night! The kids loved exploring the grounds of the house (look out for the secret bridge and statue who must be offered a coin for safe passage) and we all had fun trying to play badminton. The only down side was the very long walk to the trash cans from the kitchen, which were at the opposite end of the house!! The house was beautifully equipped and Kinam and Eric made us feel very welcome with fresh flowers and a welcome hamper. If we had any problem or queries they were always happy to help. There were also lots of lovely soft towels and toiletries for us to use as well which we found very thoughtful. We were especially touched by the effort made to make the house more accessible for our disabled son. However the property is not really suitable for a fully dependent wheelchair using adult. If you are looking for a great american breakfast in Kingston don't forget the Firehouse Restaurant, Poulsbo has lovely old world Norwegian charm with great restaurants and shops to browse, and don't miss the chance to visit Pike Place Market in Seattle...our teenage daughters were so excited to be able to visit the first Starbucks cafe and we all loved seeing the wonderful fresh produce, beautiful flowers and listening to the street musicians. We also highly recommend a visit to Port Townsend which we all thought had a fascinating history and was very picturesque. We found Sycamore Retreat to be exactly that; a beautiful retreat with lovely gardens and flowers which are lovingly tended. Anyone who chooses to stay at Sycamore Retreat will have a great holiday experience just as we did. Mr.& Mrs. D, London, England (August 2009)

Even record-breaking heat couldn’t spoil the loveliness of Sycamore Retreat and our family fun. Two grandmothers, four parents, and 4 children ages 3 -7 had a great time. The hot tub became a great pool for the kids and as the day grew to a close the grounds and waterfall, lily pond and fish were enjoyed by all. Nearby Bainbridge Parks (Fay Bainbridge and Battle Point) and Port Townsend and Fort Worden Park were big hits. I look forward to a return trip!B. Bryant, Seattle, WA (August, 2009)

We could not possibly be more happy with the Sycamore Retreat. It far surpassed our expectations! Our entire group was instantly in love with the place. Every element of the house was perfectly done - from the art on the walls to the landscaping to the beautiful bedrooms/baths. I know everyone would love to find another opportunity to rent from you again. I for one will certainly look forward to staying at Sycamore again sometime. Thanks again!

The Sycamore Retreat is an absolutely amazing place! It is heaven on earth… so incredibly relaxing. The atmosphere is cozy, supportive and enthusiastic. It is a perfect place to take a break from everyday life and recharge yourself with new energy and new ideas. When I visited the Retreat it reminded me of Eckhart Tolle’s “Power of Now.” It’s a perfect place to practice being in the moment …there is just no better place to relax and enjoy life in all of Washington State.M. I have stayed several times at the Sycamore Retreat and always leave feeling revived and relaxed. As soon as one walks in the door, surrounded by the tranquil view of the pond, expansive lawns and protected by lush forest, I’m able to forget my busy, hectic, urban life! Not only is it relaxing for families, but it’s also a great place for organizations to have team meetings and retreats – only a short drive from Seattle with the feeling that you’re miles & miles away in the woods…I can’t wait to go back!K.
