Unwind in our warm, well-appointed haven after a day of outdoor activity. Dark timbers, pine log walls and reclaimed wood floors throughout create a rustic feel, despite the cabin just being completed in 2008. The west-facing wall of windows in the vaulted gathering area provides views of Bony Lake below and its spectacular sunsets.
In the kitchen, soapstone counters, finely-crafted cabinets and brand new stainless steel appliances await your culinary expertise.
Feel your cares melt away as you lay down on one of our comfortable beds. Sleeping accommodations include three private bedrooms and a loft with day bed. A pull-out sofa sleeps two more.
Attention to detail continues into the bathrooms where travertine tiles, oil-rubbed bronze fixtures and a slate shower on the main floor are sure to please. The facilities upstairs include a toilet, a tub/shower and two sinks, split between separate rooms so as to accommodate two simultaneous users.
Stay connected by way of Wi-Fi internet (DSL) and telephone land line. Bring your iPod and play your tunes using our docking/speaker station with remote. Or just sit back and read or play games around the gas fireplace. Outdoors you can rest your limbs in the hammock near the fire pit, or relax on the log swing overlooking the lake.
Mature white pines and maples grace the 5-acre property, while wildlife abounds. A stairway toward the lake will take you down 39 steps to our stretch of pristine lakeshore. In summer, our L-shaped dock and trampoline enhance your enjoyment of the long, sunny afternoons on the water. Or paddle out in our two Old Town Otter kayaks and our new canoe.
Bony Lake is one of the eleven lakes that make up the Eau Claire chain. By virtue of it being spring-fed, the water has excellent clarity. Kayaks, canoes, waverunners and other small watercraft are ideal for Bony Lake's 191 acres, as access is limited to smaller boats that can navigate the 1/4 mile channel connecting it to 900+ acre Middle Eau Claire Lake.
Green-minded guests will appreciate Bony Lake's attention to shoreland and lake habitat preservation. In 2007, a $100,000 shoreland restoration grant awarded to the Bony Lake project by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). As part of the project, the Fisheries Department installed a new fish habitat on the southern end of our shoreline that will attract walleye and other species.
Some of the finest trails for hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and mountain biking are only a short drive away. Hayward and Cable offer plenty of dining, entertainment and shopping opportunities as well.
