Family Retreat - Close to Town and Lifts But Still Secluded

Beautiful new home that sits on a greenbelt just a short walk from the the local market. A two car heated garage and driveway allows for entry and exit in any weather. The large (800 sq. ft.) master bedroom is separated from the main house allowing for a quiet place to retire for the evening while the others enjoy the entertainment center in the main house. Lots of deck space for entertaining and cook-outs and beautiful views.
There are two king beds one in each of the master bedrooms, one queen bed in main floor bedroom, 4 full beds (two futons in loft, one in a bunk and one trundle under the bunk) in one main floor bedroom. The top bed in the bunk is a single bed. Thus, the master loft sleeps four (king, two fulls), one main bedroom sleeps two (queen), other main bedroom sleeps three (full, full and single bunk and trundle) and separate master bedroom sleeps 2 (one king). The house sleeps 11 comfortably and there are couches and floor mattresses for additional sleepers. We have set the limit at 12 occupants unless prior permission is received.

Family, friends and I recently rented this cabin for our snowboarding trip to Angel Fire. House is great, fireplace and hot tub was nice to come back to after a long day of boarding. Plenty of space for 12. We put my sister, her husband and two kids in the master bedroom. Great area for the kids to play. Heated garage and multiple driveways was a bonus. You will NEED four wheel drive if renting during snow months. The house is at the bottom of a street that slants down. Will definitely rent again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Six of us stayed in this very nice home in Feb 2013 for a few days of skiing. The place is clean, very roomy the master is really huge), well equipped, and carefully maintained. Of special note is that they keep all that grocery stuff you usually have to buy -ketchup, peanut butter, jelly, coffee etc. and let you use it, asking only that you replace something that is emptied. Most rentals throw out all that and let you buy it again. Nice. I recommend adding the spa to the bill - it was worth it after skiing. The owner says four wheel drive is rarely needed, but we came as a snowstorm was on and could not get up to the house with a front wheel drive mini-van. We had to buy snow cables for the tires before we could move around town. Eighty percent of the time you'll be OK with two wheel drive, but better plan for something worse - the house is at the bottom of a short but steep cul-de-sac. The only disconcerting thing about our stay was that we had to supply bar soap and toilet paper - $xxx/night ought to come with a supply of toilet paper. The owner readily returned the full damage deposit, ahead of when it was promised. We'll try to get this nice place again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We loved this place! Plenty of room for all of us! We had three sets of visitors- 10 of us at one point! Positives were- HOT TUB, dining space, outdoor dining, close hiking , groceries nearby. Kinda negative- spotty internet, low water pressure, propane smell in breezeway, not much hot water and not enough seating in main house tv room, a broom would be handy. We love the Land of Enchantment !Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We, a multi-generational group for a small family reunion stayed here in August 2011. House suited us well. Our dog had a great time and owner Gary was easy to deal with. The house is close to town but backs up on the greenbelt to make for easy hiking and mountain biking. The deck side is very private and we enjoyed cooking with the well-stocked kitchen and eating outside each evening.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children.

This house exceeded our expectations--from the fully stocked kitchen to the wildlife outside the residence! Twelve of us stayed (including 4 kids ages 5 and under) and we had plenty of room. Gary was very easy to work with from the beginning to the end. We would recommend this home to anyone looking for a place to stay that is quiet, comfortable, and very relaxing. We got good use out of all the decks as well!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

This is a beautiful, roomy place to stay. The setting is lovely and the front deck entrance is great for anyone who has difficulty with stairs. Our group included a person in a wheelchair. Having the use of the garage is so nice also, esp. on a snowy cold weekend.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Terrific home! The master suite is wonderful! This home is well-maintained and the setting is so lovely and peaceful. We spent 11 days here and loved it! The team that the owner has in place to help if needed were so helpful and responded immediately if needed. The house is only minutes from the lifts & town. Although once you settle into the master suite you might just want to stay there! Loved the decks and would like to come back during the summer or fall to spend more time on them. We would definitely recommend this home to our friends, family . . . to anyone! Thanks, Mike!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
