This luxury 2500 square foot Villa on Mount Crested Butte is fully and newly furnished and was built in 2004 with many custom features and upgrades (see our pictures and Virtual Tour). This has been our second home since completion and is fully equipped. The entry level is into the living room with a large gas log fireplace, dining room with a large, square custom aspen dining table with bench seats that seats 8-10 and gourmet kitchen. Log features accent the unique Colorado Mountain Retreat interior design. A large master suite upstairs has two closets, a king bed, gas log fireplace, private covered deck, large master bath, travertine throughout, with oversize jetted tub, very roomy shower and double vanity.
A master suite downstairs has the identical master bath as the upstairs master suite and a queen bed. Two additional bedrooms downstairs have a new custom log queen bed, bunk bed with double lower bed, bathroom (ideal for children and youth) and laundry room with washer/dryer. Every room in our Villa has mountain and down-valley views.
The Villa is on a quiet hillside street in a premier location directly adjacent to the Resort base area. A five minute walk to the Crested Butte Mountain Resort ski area base takes you to our private, oversize ski locker at Butte & Company. No need to carry your equipment to the lifts or pay extra for storage. The locker will accommodate up to four adult sets of skis and two sets of Jr. Skis, poles and four pairs of boots, four helmets and other essential equipment. Boot warmers are inside the locker and there is additional accommodation for extra boots, warmers and equipment in the Butte & Co. storage area.
Crested Butte is steeped in history. This unique and carefully restored mining town has charm and character found nowwhere else. Many fiction and non-fiction books have been wrapped around the mining and cultural history surrounding Crested Butte. Mountain Biking has its roots in CB and the Museum bearing its name is rich in the history and evolution of this popular sport. Specialty shops, art galleries and restaurants are plentiful and all are locally owned and operated. THERE ARE NO FRANCHISED OR CHAIN RETAIL ESTABLISHMENTS IN CB. Visitors from around the World are attracted to special events, institutions and programs in and around CB, including: cross country and skate-ski competition, extreme ski, snowboard and Mountain Biking competition.
Summer activities include The Crested Butte Wildflower Festival, Music Festival, Art Festival, Live Theatre Performances, Alpenglow Outdoor Concerts and Splendor in the Rockies (Fall); The Adaptive Sports Center and Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratories; and many programs offered by the Center For The Arts and Crested Butte Mountain Resort. The Resort offers a synthetic ice skating rink, climbing wall, bungy jump and trampoline, all open during the summer months. In 2008 Sunset Magazine listed Crested Butte among the ten top "Dream Towns" for the perfect vacation. It has become widely known as America's "Last Great Ski Town."
Whether your stay in Crested Butte is during the ski season (best steeps in North America and incredible cross-country/skate skiing and snowshoeing), summer wildflower season (this is the Wildflower Capital of Colorado) or brilliant yellow/gold/red fall aspen leaf season, our Villa is in the best strategic location to begin and end all of your activities. The extra time it takes to get here is more than worth it. This is the most incredibly beautiful piece of Colorado and of the entire Mountain West. It will truly take your breath away.

Why the Owner Chose Mt. Crested Butte
When Cassie and I first drove into Crested Butte in June 2002, the views of snowcapped Paradise Divide, the surrounding mountain peaks, valley and wildflowers, chest high, took our breath away. We had seen much of the State of Colorado but, not to take away from the beauty of the Rockies, this place is the most incredibly spectacular of all! We often hear from the long-time residents (the friendliest, most unassuming people one Western Slope) that winter (skiing) brings visitors to Crested Butte but, its summer that brings them back to stay. That includes us...we bought our first home on Mt. Crested Butte within 3 months of our first visit. We were full time residents here until the end of 2007 when we moved to Colorado Springs to be closer to our son's family.
