Condo was beautiful and spacious. Very clean and well stocked with everything we could need. Michael and Cassie were wonderful hosts. They met some of our guests upon arrival and went over all the details regarding their home. Great location for skiing in Crested Butte, about a 8 minute walk to the slopes. The owners were kind enough to offer us their ski locker so we were able to leave our skis at the mountain. Would stay here again in a flash.

We stayed here for 5 days in February. You couldn't ask for more in a vacation villa. It's large, clean, well appointed, and has breathtaking views from every window. The house itself is impressive and lots of little things add to the experience. It feels like you're staying in a friend's house rather than a vacation rental. My partner and I went skiing in the winter and we had a very memorable time. The villa is a few minutes walk from the ski base, not as close as the hotels but it really is only a few minutes, and the better views are more than worth it. The locker makes it easy - it's right next to the ski slopes, you walk up a set of stairs, out the door and you're at the lifts. We only used one bedroom but the house has three levels so there's plenty of room for a family or two couples. We were actually surprised at how spacious it is, the photos don't do it justice. I can't say enough good things about this property. We've traveled a lot and stayed in many holiday homes everywhere from France to Australia to San Francisco and were both very pleased. Would recommend to anyone.
Owner response:We really appreciate having these guests in our Villa and their very gracious review. We look forward to their return.

The condo is very nice and has great views, etc. I agree with all of the other laudatory comments from the other reviewers. Before I get to some "things to consider" let me just say that I would gladly stay there again. No outside hot tub. Not a deal breaker, but they sure are nice after a long day on the hill. It is not "steps" from the lifts. I walked it (and I'm a fast walker) from house to ski locker in 8 minutes with freshly plowed roads and no snow. If its snowing or icy and/or you are toting alot of gear, add a few minutes. If you have kids...double it. In fact I would not make smaller children walk it, just drive them to the base. The ski locker is great! Next best thing to ski in/ski out. Well located just "steps" from the lifts!
Owner response:We were very happy to have these four people as guests in our Villa. They took very good care of the place during their visit and we hope to have them back. We tell everyone (in our email response or telephone conversation) who makes an inquiry exactly what this reviewer pointed out in his review: that it is about a 5 minute walk to the bus stop (public transportation to the town of Crested Butte) and 8 minutes to our locker. We also advise potential guests, who have small children, to plan driving them to the base. By "steps" we mean it is an easy walk and a good cardio warm-up before hitting the slopes.

This house was perfect for our vacation. It has amazing views out of every window. Although it is close to other homes it felt private and we never heard neighbors. Additionally, the house was very well kept, clean, and organized. I promise you I am a complete clean freak and this house fit the bill. It was extremely clean. The house was also very well stocked. We had all the cooking material we needed. There was also nice shampoo and bath products in each bathroom, which made packing easier. The owners of the home were also great. They checked in by phone with me several times. They also had the home decorated for x-mas, which was a great suprise and very appreciated. In terms of location and having to walk to the slopes, which i was concerned about, it could not have been easier. It is literally a 5-10 minute EASY WALK. By car it takes about 3o seconds so we just took turns dropping each other off, etc. There is a locker for your use at the slopes, which comes with the house and made it very easy. After our trip to this home, we vacationed in Telluride. The home made Crested Butte a much easier ski experience than in Telluride. I would highly recommend this home!!!

We had a beautiful week in Crested Butte. Sept. 10-17 2011. The villa is comfortable and very well maintained. My family wishes to return over and over. You can't go wrong by visiting Crested Butte and staying in the villa and treating your family to a wonderful experience.
Owner response:One of the great benefits of renting our Villa through VRBO and HomeAway is meeting wonderful families from all over the world who come to soak in the beauty, recreational activities and cultural uniqueness of Crested Butte.

We spent a week at this lovely condo in CB for spring break with three generations of skiers. The condo was perfect for a group of 5 with plenty of roound to spread out. Every room was thoughtfully decorated and the kitchen was the best stocked one I have ever seen. Everything was new and in great shape. The ski locker near the mountain was a life saver with two teenager and an 82-year old skier in our group. It saved countless trips to the car and a lot of complaining. What a great treat! The property manager who lives in the area was a great resource. She was full of great ideas and extremely helpful to us. If you visit in the winter, do not miss the snowmobiling at Kebler Pass. What a blast! We'd highly recommend this condo to anyone looking for a reasonably priced luxury condo near world class skiing. Thanks to the Catons for sharing this gem with us.

Our family of 8 stayed at this home away from home. We were attending a wedding in Crested Butte and was really looking for convenience. This home met above our expectations. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas and had all the home kitchen amenities so that I could take care of the family. It was one of the larges snowfalls in years. Just breathtaking from every direction! The owners provided great information and hospitality before and during our stay. Five of my family skied the slopes. We were in walking distance from slopes. The cleanliness and details of all the amenities was awesome. We shopped a grocery store and prepared several meals which I had everything I needed in cabin to make it special! We did eat at Maxwell's Steak House for the Wedding Reception which was delicious and the service was outstanding! Great shopping area and little pubs and coffee houses too! Just loved the whole experience and would love to come back some time! I would recommend it to everyone looking for a home a way from home to enjoy!
Owner response:We so appreciate your kind comments and we are so very happy you and the family enjoyed our home and our "last great ski town". We do hope you can return in the future. Thanks again for choosing our home for your "home away".

This is a well designed home offerring both privacy in the master bedroom upstairs and a large entertaining area on the main floor. The views are great of Mt. Crested Butte, the city of Crested Butte and up the valley. During our two week stay we made day trips to the Black Canyon, Lake City (along a Colorado scenic byway), and over Kebler Pass to view the large expanse of Aspen trees changing color. We recommend this villa to anyone staying at Mt. Crested Butte.

We have stayed at the Caton's villa two times now and love it! This is a beautiful villa--impeccably maintained and with everything you need to enjoy the surrounding area. The villa is spacious enough for two families with children. The mountain views are outstanding and the location is convenient to both Mt. Crested Butte and the town.

We had the pleasure of spending a whole, wonderful week at Mike and Cassie's villa near the base of Mt Crested Butte and came away wishing it had been longer! The home is very clean, well maintained, comfortably furnished and well stocked. The kitchen has lots of space and counters for cooking up large "group" meals for family and friends, with plenty of dishes, pot, pans and utensils. The views from the decks are just incredible and the entire neighborhood is nice and friendly. And the location is great for playing on the mountain, cruising the jeep trails or dropping into town for shopping and dining. Mike and Cassie greeted us via phone upon arrival and were very helpful throughout our stay via guidebooks and other resources available in the villa. All in all it was a great place to spend a week. We highly recommend this home to others and we look forward to returning in the future!

This is a beautiful home. It is super clean, has great views, and a great location. Nice kitchen, master bedroom/bath, and living area to hang out! We were there for a week in the summer. We enjoyed hiking, biking, dining at many local eateries, and shopping on Elk Ave. and at the Crested Butte Arts Festival. Mike and Cassie were gracious hosts and we hope to get back in the winter to see the beauty of Crested Butte in the snow!
Owner response:We look forward to having this family as our guests again.

Thank you so much for letting us use your beautiful home. The place really felt more like a home than a rental. The deck overlooking Mt Crested Butte was great for relaxing on after a long day of activities. All of the furnishings were of high quality and clean. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms were modern and the kitchen even proved to be better than our own for cooking! Our family had a great time and we hope to stay here again!
Owner response:These guests were also perfect. We especially appreciate the comment about our Villa feeling like "home."

We have been to Crested Butte for many Spring Break Ski (now Snowboarding) Vacations. Last year we rented from Mike and Cassie and loved this place so much came back again. When you finish your day and return to this condo at night, it's like coming home but even better. The views, decor, comforts, and amenities are amazing, even better then the pictures on site. The short walk back allows time to unwind, talk about the amazing day on the slopes and to have some awesome snow ball fights. All we can say is you will be so happy you rented, that you'll return like we did. Also, Mike and Cassie are amazing people, they add a very nice personal touch to the whole experience of renting with them. You can't go wrong here, JUST RENT IT.
Owner response:We are constantly reminded of the benefits of listing our Crested Butte home with VRBO and HomeAway. While doing so is financially rewarding, we especially appreciate the comments of our guests and the new friendships that we have made. There is nothing more gratifying than to have returning guests.

Our family stayed here in March and had a great experience. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all well appointed and the living spaces were well-suited for nights in after skiing all day. We cooked at home much of the time and found the kitchen and dining set up to be user-friendly, even for our group of nine. The views are amazing and the location to the base area (hooray for the ski locker!) is really wonderful since there is no parking on the mountain. The walk to and from the base can get a bit tiresome by the end of the week, but it makes that apres ski cockatil all the more refreshing. We will definitely consider this home again for future trips to CB. Thanks so much to the owners for their lovely hospitality.

Wow ... our family has skied many mountains and stayed in many rentals, but THIS vacation was one of our BEST EVER! This villa was PERFECT and accommodated our MANY (grown) kids. We ALL loved it! The hosts were SO friendly and kind, doing everything possible to make sure that our stay was enjoyable. (Now my husband and I are trying to figure out when we can come BACK ... but by ourselves so that we can REALLY enjoy the activities AND the serenity that this place can offer!) Everything was truly divine! THANK you Mike & Cathie for sharing it all with us!

This Villa was the most beautiful home you could imagine. Everything and anything was in the home. From the mountain views to the smallest items of hiking trail books to read. Mike and Cassie *owners* have really thought of everything. The family on vacation will not need to worry about a thing. The entire "log cabin" is beautifully decorated. The location is amazing. You can't get much closer views of the mountain than at the villa. Thanks for a wonderful week :)

Let me first say that the pictures do not even do justice to the property. This is a lovely home and has been meticulously maintained by the owners. The home is well stocked with most anything you could possibly need from the kitchen to the laundry. The layout was perfect. Master on the top floor with a balcony, living areas on the main floor ( a balcony is just off the dining room) and three bedrooms on the lower floor and have windows with beautiful views. The house is located on a cul-de-sac and it was very quiet. The view from the home is simply gorgeous. You look out onto Mt. Crested Butte and the valley. We all enjoyed having our coffee on the balconies in the morning with that view. We had 7 adults and 3 children in our party and it worked out perfectly. The owners went out of their way to make sure our stay was wonderful. They provided us with information not only about the home but the area which was very helpful a timesaver. They really seemed to anticipate the needs of their guests which was deeply appreciated. I must say on a personal note what lovely people they are and I appreciate them sharing their home with our family. If we return to Crested Butte I would definitely love to stay here again. I highly recommend this property. I would not hesitate recommending this property to friends and acquaintances of mine. I hope if you are considering visiting Crested Butte, please consider this property. I think you will be pleasantly surprised what a gem it is.

This magnificent villa is what dreams vacations were named for. You would never know this home is a rental. The furnishings are fabulous and the condition is unbelievable. Our first reaction when we entered the door was "WOW". We have rented a lot of vacation homes and this is by far the best. The views are so beautiful it makes you want to just sit with a book and spend the day relaxing. But we came to ski and the short walk to the lifts made it so convenient that we were up early every day enjoying the great conditions. The open living area really made it nice for our group to gather and spend time together. We can't wait to return and we've recommended this home to all our friends. Life is made of memories and our trip to Crested Butte is near the top.
Owner response:We really appreciate reviews like this one. We encourage everyone who is searching for a home to stay in while vacationing in Crested Butte to take advantage of the experience of our past guests. This is just one of many that have been left in our Guest Book and on this website.
