Water Front Penthouse Condo
Year Purchased: 2007
Why the Owner Chose Puerto Aventuras
We wanted a location that offers lots of outdoor and water activities. PA is the best location that provides a combination of social life and privacy as well. Our condo has windows on three sides with terrific views. Being on the lagoon you can enjoy swimming in a calm area and swim out the ocean as well. PA is self sufficient with resturants, dolphins, golf, etc. It is centrally located between Xcaret and Xel Ha and few minutes from Playa Del Carmen.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
A combination of privacy with our Jaccuzi on the roof and hammock under the Pergola. You can join the Omni Hotel Beach Club with a 25% discount that is within walking distance. View the waves on shore from the from the master bedroom. Covered balcony the length of the condo viewing swimmers and kayakers.
Owner's Map of Puerto Aventuras
My wife is a travel agent and we traveled all over the Caribbean searching for a fun place that was easy to get to. PA is about a half day trip from our home and located in the middle of all the activity of the Mayan Reviera. We enjoy exploring for new adventures and cultural activities.

We had a great time in PA! The owners were very helpful answering all our questions and giving the advice. They have a property manager on site so if you have any problems or concerns -he would be there for you. He drove me to the nearest supermarket once for a small fee. I was not very impressed with local restaraunts, so we mostly cooked at home. The latitide 20 is a good place for a luch. The condo was much bigger than I though it would be. It was spotless and well stocked with everything. We loved the views and how the condo was decorated. They have a very nice kithchen and 2 bathrooms, one with a shower and one with shower/tub. The leather couch has a pullout bed. Lots of books and DVDs to choose from. Free WiFi, no problems with the internet at all. We usually had our meals and played some card games on the balcony or in the solarium. We used the jetted tub several times as well as the kayak. Having a laundry room was a big plus. We used some beach toys and the bikes. The beach was gorgeous! Xcaret park was very close and my whole family enjoyed it very much. Buying a 2 day pass is probably a good idea, there is so much to see and do there. My older kid went to Xplore for the 2nd time this visit and loved it! Thanks Gil and Nancy for letting us share your home with us. I would definitely recommend this property to my friends and family.

After our family of four stayed in one hotel room in a resort, it was so nice to have a spacious condo to spread out. Wrap around decks provided a nice open feeling. Loved the convenience of kayaking & snorkeling right from the condo & out into the protected cove & beach. Snorkeling the mix of fresh & sea water was unique. The fully private roof top deck is awesome & great to hang out at when the sun goes down. This is Mexico, so things that we take for granted in the US can take a bit of getting use to. The tap water should not be used for cooking or teeth brushing, the propane to the stove can run out & the internet connection can be intermittent. Fortunately the condo is served by Jaime and Jose who'd replaces our 5 gallon purified water jugs & quickly respond to any maintenance requests. The owner, Gil, also replied immediately to questions and happily offered tips about the area. I would recommend this condo to anyone who wants to get away from the crowded cattle call of the mega resorts, but still have a westernized type of accommodation. The condo has a lived in feeling, so you won't be greeted with a sterile, bare-bones rental. It's also in a safe, gated development with security guards, so walking day or night is no problem. It’s only a few minutes walk to the sandy beaches of a few all inclusive hotels. You can use the beach, but technically not the resort facilities/equipment. A pleasant 15 minute stroll along the marina takes you the Dolphinarium, which has large, open pens of frolicking dolphins, huge manatees, sting ray & sharks that you can admire fairly close and free of charge along the public walkways. Baby dolphins playing with their mamas was a wonderful sight. A variety of tourist priced restaurants include Mexican, Italian, sushi, pizza, burgers, bakeries and bars, as well as shops and convenience stores. The condo's location gets you closer to the wildly popular Tuluum ruins. By getting to the ruins right when it opens, you can avoid most of the dense crowds arriving later by the busloads from Cancun. We also enjoyed venturing to Sian Ka'an wilderness, the natural reserve that is accessed by a dirt road with countless huge pot holes that makes driving there very slow going. Chedraui Supermarket is just outside the gates, great for families like ours who like to economize by cooking our own healthier meals. One of the best bargains, especially during high season, in the area and would definitely recommend it.

Our family enjoyed nine days in Puerto Aventuras and loved this condo. It was very nicely decorated, very clean and comfortable. We liked hearing all the birds in the morning while we enjoyed the view. The owners gave us all the information we needed and more before we arrived. Our boys loved kayaking and swimming in the lagoon. The restaurants in Puerto Aventuras were good, Tu Parador was the best! We went into Playa del Carmen a couple times and loved walking along 5th avenue. This was our first trip to Mexico and we definitely picked a great spot. Thanks Gil and Nancy!

Our family of 4 had a great time - PA is a perfect location and is very centrally located. Owners were very helpful, and so too was the local property manager - English-speaking and very accessible. Condo was clean and well- kept, well stocked - beds very comfortable. Pool is very private and lovely - we ate breakfast at the poolside table. Kayaks, pool floats were a hit with the kids. Rooftop area with jacuzzi and hammock is a great 'get away' for parents traveling with kids or party spot. Location was perfect for day trips - Xel-ha, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, X-Caret each less than 30 minutes away. Lagoon and cove were IDEAL - protected and calm, but loaded with fish for snorkling. Great for scuba diving - reefs and cenotes only minutes away. 2 great dive shops in town. We will be back!

The condo is very well decorated, clean, and comfortable. Local accents and decorations were great. The kayaks were a hit with the kids. Waking up and enjoying a cup of coffee on the back porch was my favorite part. Well located 20 minutes from Playa Del Carmen, a great peaceful place for a family.
