Spring Escape

Guest: Tom (Parker, Colorado)
Date of Stay: 03/30/12 Review Submitted: 04/03/12

This is a great house and set up perfectly for two families to share and still have privacy as there are two bedrooms upstairs and a bedroom and pullout sofa in the basement. Great kitchen and family area on the main floor and the private hot tub was the perfect way to unwind after putting kids to bed. While we planned for a "final" ski weekend, there was not enough snow to make a lift ticket worthwhile, but with temps in the 70"s and the great heated pool, all the kids had a great time and an early start on summer tans! This is a super location if you know the Sol Vista/Granby area at all and I would recommend it for summer getaways as well as winter. Having lived in the Gunnis/Crested Butte area for ten years, we really enjoyed getting back up in the high country in the privacy of a house and not having to stay in a crammed condo building or hotel. Brian is great to work with, responsive toe very inquiry and everything about setting this up was a breeze.. Great house - Great Weekend and we hope to rent it again next year!

Spring Break

Date of Stay: 03/19/12 Review Submitted: 03/27/12

This house was just as advertised. It was clean, up to date and well equipped. We had plenty of space for the 6 of us which included 3 adults and 3 teeanagers. Each evening after skiing we enjoyed sitting in the hot tub and watched the deer in nearby fields. The location was very close to Solvista and Granby and a reasonable drive to Winter Park.

This house was perfect for our family. Our teenage son loved his man cave in the basement living area and bedroom. We enjoyed the hot tub and grilling on the deck while enjoying the gorgeous views. We were in the only occupied home on the street and it was SO quiet! We had everything we needed and couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home!

Great place to stay

Guest: Lori (United States)
Date of Stay: 01/27/12 Review Submitted: 02/02/12

We really enjoyed our 3 day weekend at this property. The house was a little hard to find in the dark as the street signs are a bit odd and didn't match our navigation system. Several in our party spent time skiing and snowboarding while others enjoyed just hanging out at the house and enjoying the hot tub. There is a shuttle to Sol Vista that runs about 4 times a day which is really nice, although we didn't use it since we had to be there early to get rentals for ski lessons, etc. There was room for all and we enjoyed playing some of the board games and listening to music on the wonderful sound system. There wasn't a lot of room in the cupboards for food so we had to keep it in boxes nearby but the fridge was great and we were glad of the cold water from it. It was a very comfortable place though and we had a great time.

Owner response:Thank you for your review Lori. There are typically lights that illuminate the street signs in our neighborhood. Evidently those were burned out while you were there but they have since been fixed. Depending on how much food you bring, cabinet space can be limited, but we always keep our kitchen fully stocked for the benefit of our guests so they can cook everything and anything they want. We hope to see you again!

This is the second time that we have stayed at this property. It had snowed before we arrived and snowed again while we were there. We loved it. We sat in the Hot Tub while it snowed!!! This is a very nice home, nice fireplace, big widescreen TV, comfy beds and a complete kitchen. It is also in a nice neighborhood for walking or hiking and a short drive to the City Market grocery store. Rocky Mountain National Park is about a half hour's drive. You can't go wrong staying here!

Date of Stay: 09/05/11 Review Submitted: 09/12/11

We would definitely recommend staying at this home. Brian, the owner, was very accommodating, even though we booked at the very last minute. The home has everything you need, is very clean, and the location is very convenient. The views are awesome and the hot tub at night was wonderful. There were only 5 of us (2 adults, 3 children) and we had tons of room. We hardly used the finished basement area at all. We could have shared the house with another family and still been comfortable.

Cool Vacation!

Guest: Mimi (The Woodlands, TX)
Date of Stay: 08/13/11 Review Submitted: 08/30/11

My family (2 grandparents, 2 parents & 2 kids) had a wonderful vacation. The cool weather was a welcome relief from the 108 temps. in Houston & Austin. The house was perfect for our family with plenty of room for everyone. We enjoyed going to Winter Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Grand Lake, and doing the Red River rafting. We also went to Boulder and Estes Park. We enjoyed coming "home" each night to such a nice house and quiet neighborhood. Brian was very helpful and answered all my questions promptly and professionally. We bought a hummingbird feeder while we were there and had more fun watching them swirl around & even land on us. My granddaughters were entertained for hours. We have many great memories and plan to come back next year if possible. Thanks Brian for sharing your wonderful house!

Guest: Ohio Family of 5 Go Bucks! (Nashport, OH)
Date of Stay: 08/05/11 Review Submitted: 08/18/11

Our family of 5 from Ohio loved our stay. The location was perfect, we were able to spend several days visiting Rocky National Park, we went to Denver and to Boulder, and finally enjoyed the great recreation center in Winter Park. Sol Vista Ski Resort was giving free lift rides to pedestrians so we really got some great views. The size of the house let us really spead out, we were together, but we could still have alone time, really important with teenage girls :). We used the hot tub and spent a lot of time out on the deck. We were able to see deer on several days. The property was just as described, fabulous. We would recommend this home to everyone. We would love to plan a winter stay and do some skiiing.

July 2011 vacation in Granby

Guest: Rob (Austin, TX)
Date of Stay: 07/22/11 Review Submitted: 07/31/11

Our family of four had a wonderful time at this property. Brian was very professional in handling the pre-arrangements and very responsive to any questions or concerns we may of had before and during our stay. The home sits in Granby Ranch with wonderful views of the Rockies. We saw wildlife everyday near the home. The neighborhood is really quiet and we immediately felt at home the moment we walked in. There is lots of space, our boys spent most of their time in the basement bedroom playing the xbox and wating tv when we were at the home. The hot tub was a nice relaxing treat each evening after a busy day exploring the nearby towns and mountain adventures. I would highly recommend this property to anyone. We were looking at a bigger place in the same area before deciding on this property. Brian and Brenda's attention to detail with their welcome packet and responsiveness won us over and I am glad we chose their home.

Great summer vacation

Guest: Honoria B. (Iowa Falls, Iowa)
Date of Stay: 07/18/11 Review Submitted: 08/04/11

We were looking for a mountain vacation spot near the Rocky Mountain National Park, and we found a gem! This property was great for the eight of us: four adults and four kids (5-13). After exploring the towns nearby, we spent the evening relaxing at this wonderful home where no detail was left unattended to. While the adults enjoyed the hot tub at night, the kids were having fun in the basement, playing hard. Making arrangements to stay at this property was very easy and convenient, communication very professional. Our was a last minute booking (decided Sat, arrived Mon), yet everything went very smoothly. This is a wonderful place for a family vacation. We are considering coming back in the winter! Thank you, Brian and Brenda!

Excellent Vacation-Granby in July!

Guest: Anne (Saint Louis)
Date of Stay: 06/27/11 Review Submitted: 07/19/11

I want to thank the property owner, Brian, for his personalized service regarding our stay. He was attentive to all my pre-trip questions. He even sent me a text notifying me of a potential road closing the day of my arrival-plus possible alternative routes! The house was very well appointed and functional for my family (2 parents, 2 children, and 2 grandparents.) We spent a great deal of time on the back deck, hiking and biking in the area. The road where the house sits is very quiet. It was perfect for my 2 year old to ride his bike each morning. The weather was absolutely fabulous with highs in the low 80s and highs in the high 40s. I'm from St. Louis where the temps were 110 that week! Thanks, Brian. We will be back! Anne

We stayed for just a weekend at this Sol Vista/Granby Ranch home but wish it would have been longer! It is a beautiful home set in a picturesque saddle at the top of Granby Ranch. Being right next to the ski/mountain biking trails of Sol Vista made for a great place to hike, bike and trail run each day. The hot tub each night was an amazing place to view the stars in a mountain sky with no light pollution! We will definitely be back in the winter for ski season!

Lovely home and fun getaway in June

Guest: ISU Family (Des Moines Metro Area)
Date of Stay: 06/05/11 Review Submitted: 06/22/11

Our stay was early June 2011. We were able to go horseback riding, boating/fishing and white water rafting closeby to this home and had a great time! It was so nice to have a comfortable place to come back to and relax in the hot tub both at night and in the morning. Found the Eisenhower cabins on a morning hike and took in the views from around the neighborhood roads as much open space. City Market, Starbucks and gas super close by which helps for last minute needs. 11 year old liked the games and extra space to get away too. Recommend those coming to Winter Park check the opening dates as we were short by 1 week and some establishments closed until then but those activities were not part of our plans anyway. Plenty still open to keep us busy/fed! Sol Vista opened their lift for bikers and pedestrians our last full day in town and we rode to top and the view was just beautiful - the lift guys will tell you where to get the best view.

Wonderful Family Get-away

Guest: JR (Denver, CO)
Date of Stay: 03/31/11 Review Submitted: 04/05/11

4 adults and 3 kids stayed for a long weekend in early April. The house is very comfortable, very functional, and perfectly located for teaching kids to ski. It's about a mile from Sol Vista, so getting people back and forth to the mountain was easy. It would also be easy to be based here and ski Winter Park too. You're close enough to grocery, restaurants, liquor store, etc. for convenience, yet nice and secluded at the house. Brian is great to deal with and supplied a lot of extra helpful information on surrounding areas and activities--not something you get with every vrbo experience. We will be back, and we would definitely recommend this place to friends.

We just got home from spending a week at this wonderful SolVista home. My two teenagers did not want to leave. The four adults in the house wouldn't have minded staying either! The owners are very organized and made the process of renting easy. Their home is cozy and comfortable - a very relaxing place to spend your evenings after skiing, snowboarding, snow mobiling, sledding and any other winter activity you might want to try. We enjoyed a soak in the hot tub after our daytime activities. I enjoy cooking and I found the kitchen to be well stocked and the appliances to be of top quality.

Brian, thank you so much for sharing this wonderful property with our families! It's absolutely gorgeous inside and out. The views! Wow! Four adults and four children had a wonderful time because there was plenty of space for us to all roam. Star gazing while relaxing in the hot tub was definitely a highlight. As always, skiing and sledding at Sol Vista was amazing. The kids really enjoyed their lessons, and our older two were taught how to snowboard in one day. We were impressed. We had a very positive experience from the beginning. Brian was very helpful and flexible, and got back to us quickly with answers to our questions about the property. We had a party of 7, including our 14-month-old son, and the home was beautiful and had plenty of room for all of us. The only small disappointment was that we expected a nice view from the back yard (suggested by the photos), and the back yard was small and lined with trees. But overall, we had no other complaints, as the home was clean and well maintained, and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. We would definitely recommend this home for other vacationers!

This property is located in a beautiful quiet mountain side. The spaciousness and quality furnishings made for a comfortable stay. The upgrades on the hardware (plumbing, cabinetry, doors), and the back deck, vaulted ceilings, and nice furniture certainly made the home feel luxurious. We enjoyed the views from the hot tub as much as the hot tub itself: glorious sunsets and magnificent sky constellations. We haven't seen the full Milky Way in many years and this was a special treat for us. Shopping (grocery and gifts), good restaurants, and outdoor activities are not far to enjoy. Rocky Mountain National Park is only 30 minutes away. We highly recommend this property.

Very nice property that is only a 20 minute drive to Rockies National Park and Winter Park. Lovely views from the front bedroom and high above most other properties in the area. There are very few properties around the house so it is very quiet. The house was well equipped and very comfortable. There were 4 of us staying there (2 adults and 2 teenage children) and there was more than enough space, you could quite easily get 2 families in the house. I would definitely recommend this to someone else who is looking for a base to explore the area.

We stayed at this property for three nights for 3 nights and 4 days for a girls getaway trip! The location was great and the property was well maintained and very comfortable. It especially met our needs because there were plenty of bathrooms for us all. We enjoyed the hot tub one evening which was very nice. Brian (the owner) answered my many questions and even let us check in early the day of our arrival. I would recommend this rental for either a girls trip or a family gathering. I am strongly considering renting again and bringing our adult children and grandchildren. As far as restaurants to eat at - we really enjoyed the Brickhouse 40 in downtown Granby as well as Ian's Bakery. He does have the best scones I have ever tasted and greets his customers with humor you won't soon forget! We wanted to attend the theater in Grand Lake but was not able to purchase tickets because they were sold out. I recommend getting your tickets early if you want to attend!

Three couples celebrating a 24th and a 45th Anniversary enjoyed a week here in July. The quiet area, the views, and the proximity to Rocky Mt. National Park for hiking and sightseeing - fabulous! Each couple had complete privacy and the kitchen/dining/deck entertainment area was big enough for all of us to prepare snacks, breakfast and lunch meals without bumping into one another. We've stayed at several VRBO rentals in the past, and this proved to be one of the best.

We had a great time. The house had everything that we needed. We had 3 adults and 4 kids and enough space for all (basement was great). The XBox 360 was a hit with the kids and hot tub was a hit with the adults. Close to ski slopes (25 minutes) and other activities. Overall, great vacation place and accomadations.

The house and location were great. Convenient to SolVista Resort. Skiing for a beginning family was fantastic. The house had all the conveniences of home and more; well furnished; great views. Owners were friendly and helpful. A+++++++

Absolutely amazing home! We planned a ski trip for our kids. We had 3 adults and 4 kids. Solvista was the most perfect place to take our beginner kids and the house was great. Not only was it a great price compared to other houses in the area, but it was spacious, beautiful, relaxing and had everything you need (including a nice hot tub). The kids were completely entertained in the basement living room with Xbox, etc. While the adults got to enjoy cooking in the fabulous kitchen and relaxing with the fireplace! We will be back!

Well appointed and comfortable home. Stayed here a week for a ski vacation. Both SolVista and Winter Park easy to get to.

: We stayed at this property over the weekend (1-10-2010). We had been to Sol Vista before at a different location and really Loved this house. We went with two other couples and had PLENTY of room and space. Everything was perfect. Wouldn't change a thing. Sol Vista is a very nice place to come and vist. This was our second trip and we highly recommend this VRBO. Scott & Kathy

We enjoyed staying in this house over Thanksgiving. It had comfortable beds and showers and a wonderful view of the mountains. We got some snow the first night and the beauty of the mountains and snow made us feel closer to God. We hope to go back and see it in the summer.

Wow, we absolutely loved this place. The house and surrounding area were perfect for us. Some of the most beautiful country ever. The house was awesome, like a home away from home. The beds were sooo comfortable, such a relaxing atmosphere. Our family had a lot of fun playing games, watching movies together and sitting by the fire. We hope to make this a bi-annual trip, 1 for the entire family, and 1 just for the adults!! Thank You so much for a wonderful experience and helping my family build warm memories and a new family tradition. Kimberly, Jason Jago and family.

My family and I had a great time in your house. The decor and furnishings was all top notch, and the entire house was very clean and comfortable. The space and amenities you provide when compared to the price make it a bargain of a place to stay. I enjoyed the privacy and security of the house, and my wife and daughter absolutely loved the hot tub. Outside in the tub at night with the house lights off the stars in the sky burst into life; gorgeous. We even enjoyed seeing the many deer moving around through the area. Thank you very much and we look forward to returning again!

Wow! What an amazing home....and an amazing place. We enjoyed hiking along the Granby to Fraser trail, surrounded by beautiful Aspens, relaxing in the hot tub and watching the sun set in the distance. This home is just perfect. I'd recommend it to any of my friends....a perfect mountain escape!

This is the perfect house for a mountain vacation. The house is like new. It is nicely appointed, from the cozy sofas and comfortable beds, to the well-stocked kitchen, to the benches at the front and garage doors. The deck is perfect for sipping morning coffee and watching the deer cross the meadows, and watching the sun set in the evening. The quiet location is far away from traffic, but close to the grocery store, dinner in Winter Park and hiking in Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park. There is good hiking near the house also. This house was even better than we expected. Thank you Brian and Brenda!

Once again, while in Colorado ~ God filled our senses. The beauty and wonder of His creation filled us with awe ~ and as we relaxed in this beautiful mountain retreat we experienced a welcome quiet in the serenity of the location, an amazement in the breathtaking views, and the most comfortable surroundings that we could have asked for. We would highly recommend this home as a welcome get-away and retreat ~ and hope to visit again.

We very much enjoyed your beautiful home and it was such a private setting as well as being located near all the fun things to do. We had 6 people staying very comfortably and we all felt that we were being pampered as well. The home is beautifully decorated and has all the amenities you could possibly need.

We stayed at the ‘cabin’ over Memorial Weekend. Its not really a cabin but a palace in the hills. The place is amazing. Its location makes it ideal for day tripping to different parts of CO. Grocery stores and restaurants aren’t too far out of the way but it is still remote enough to enjoy peaceful nights in the Rockies. While we were there in the Spring/summer, it looks like a great place to stay at in the winter due the family oriented ski area within walking distance and the other large resorts just a short drive away. We liked it so much we are thinking about coming back sometime in the winter to do some skiing. You can’t go wrong with this place. Its great.

Greatly enjoyed our stay here. Loved the quaintness of Sol Vista and how kid friendly it was. Kids had a great time, they even explored the animal tracks in the snow. Thanks, Brian!
