A Wonderful Family Gathering Spot

We recently enjoyed a large family gathering at this lovely lake house. There were 9 adults, 2 teens, and 5 little children, but there was plenty of space for everyone to relax, enjoy activities, sleep and play. Each floor has an excellent gathering space. We especially enjoyed drinking our morning coffee and taking in the gorgeous sunrises on the lovely screened porch. In the evenings, we enjoyed conversation around the cozy fire in the sitting room. The children had plenty of space to play, color pictures, drive rc cars, explore. Our family really loved canoeing on the lake and feeding the fish. We also enjoyed the wildlife, appreciating the family of swans in the waters nearby and a beautiful blue heron. The guys had fun throwing the football in the front yard on several occasions. Several family members enjoyed taking walks and jogs and riding bikes on the neighborhood roads. The kitchen was spacious enough to accommodate our cooking needs, and we nearly filled all the fridges. If there were downsides, they were that the main table wasn't quite large enough to accommodate our entire family at once (which we were able to work around) and the basement bedroom could be noisy in the evening when people were walking and talking in the sitting room upstairs. We were very satisfied with our stay and our vacation experience, and we are very thankful to have been granted the opportunity to stay at this nice lake house.

Your incredible hospitality has been an incredible and invaluable blessing to us, The Wheaton College Student Government Board. Over the last few days we have laughed, played games, tried the karaoke machine, utilized the Wii and the fireplace and generally had a marvelous time. Your home was the perfect place for our family to gather. Everyone enjoyed laughing, talking, and being with each other. Snowmobiles raced on the frozen lake...making for awesome memories. The fire crackled in the evening as we played games and sang songs. A good time was had by all. Our ages ranged from 90 to 7 months old...and three more to come in the next year. so much to be thankful for! Thanks The Mathre Family

Dear Friends, Your home has provided for us the perfect setting for the enjoyment of and strengthening of our family relationships. Seven of our nine children, their spouses, and one grandson were with us. We cooked together, played games, laughed, sang, prayed, played ice hockey, went sledding, watched the movie "up" and shared many significant conversations. Dear Nancy and John, Thank you so much for opening your beautiful home to our family. Our reunion was truly a wonderful time at the Pointe. Our reunion brought 25 family members together. We had a group of 17 from Colorado. Grandma, 3 siblings and their children and grand-children. We loved this house and the lake. Not too many lakes in Colorado. The weather was beautiful all week. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and spectacular property. Our family was thehost for our annual family reunion. This year's "back to Powers Lake" brought back many, many fond memories as we looked directly across the lake at a home my parents owned 20 years ago. Sis siblings and spouses and sixteen grandchildren shared all their stories about our years on this lake with twelve great grandchildren. Lots of laughs were had by all around the campfire. We were also fortunate to use the property to have our entire family photographed (all 43 of us). We could not have picked a more beautiful setting. We all agreed - best family reunion ever! Wonderful vacation! House was great, especially enjoyed being in the country that our ancestors settled in the 1850's. Our Grandfather was born on a farm just down the road.
