This cozy and welcoming 80 sq. mt apartment, fitted with independent heating and parquet flooring, opens up onto a foyer which leads to the living room, that includes a comfortable relax area with a double sofa bed and TV, and a dining area with a table for 6 people. The kitchen, next to the living room, is fully equipped and complete with a dishwasher and a washing machine/dryer.
Next to the living room, separated by a sliding glass door, is a first bedroom, with two single beds and a closet. The sleeping area also includes a spacious and bright master bedroom with a double bed, an antique armorer, a large mirror and a frescoed ceiling, and two bathrooms, one complete and fitted with a shower and the other a water closet.

The apartment is located in the vicinity of Piazza S. Spirito, a square whose name derives from the famous namesake church, which from 1343 names also the neighborhood. The Basilica was designed by the architect Filippo Brunelleschi, who worked on it from the beginning of the construction in 1433 to his death in 1446. The bell tower, was constructed in 1506 by Baccio d’Agnolo.
The apartment is found in a very lively and cozy neighborhood, well-known for its workshops, offering the best of Florence tradition: there are craftsmen, antique dealers, scavengers/restorers and workshops for silver, wood, leather manufacturing, wood carving, decorating and gemstones work.
The antique dealers are found particularly in the near Via Maggio, one of the biggest streets of the Oltrano area.
How to reach us: By foot: The flat is at 10 minutes walk from the Santa Maria Novella rail station. By bus: From the station, catch bus “D” and take it to the Santo Spirito stop. By car: From motorway A1, take exit Firenze Certosa and follow the signs for the city centre "Firenze Centro" (approximately 5 km), until you find Porta Romana, you continue for via Romana and then to via S. Agostino. We inform you the Santo Spirito square is a limited traffic zone (ZTL) with the following restrictions: · Limited access on week-days from Monday to Fridays from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, Limited access on Saturdays from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm. This flat was exactly as advertised. Clean and comfortable. Location was a short walk to all the tourist sights yet located in a real slice of Italy. Angela and Sibilla were accomodating and always available. The local shops were plentiful and offered a morning coffee to the daily open Market at Santa Spirito. Kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils you would need to prepare your own authentic Italian meals. Loved it and plan to return again next year!
Recommended for:Sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

Unfortunately, I will not recommend this property to others. It was in a good location and the size of the apartment was as stated in the description. However, it was not clean, and furthermore there were small red insects everywhere. In addition, the kitchen was not adequately equipped. No cutting boards, no decent knives, nor proper pans or utensils, the electric coffeemaker was broken. There were eating utensils and plates, some glasses and cups. The owner met us upon our arrival. She was pleasant and helpful regards locating grocery stores, etc.
Owner response:Sorry to hear about that, however, unfortunately in that period the person who was in charge of cleaning the flat had perosnal problems and thus the flat was cleaned very quickly and not properly. Now things have changed , the flat is duly clean and many new utensils have been bought for the kitchen. Thanks anyway for the comment which has been taken in due account.
