The pictures just don't do this apartment justice. The place is just amazing inside. Well designed, well furnished and just chalked full of style. The owners certainly didn't skimp on amenities. From the thick and fluffy white towels to the great quilts and down comforters. Even the bathroom fixtures are amazing. There is plenty of room for storage in the closets and just every little thing you need is there as if you were home. The kitchen is stocked with all the cooking utensils you'd need and some you didn't know you needed. This Fort Greene apartment is close to quaint places to dine, grocery stores, laundromats and parks to relax in. The owners are so helpful when it comes to recommending things in the area from restaurants to taxi services (which we appreciated greatly - Myrtle's was perfect!). Paul and Allen were available for questions and never hesitated to make sure our stay was everything we wanted it to be. I highly recommend Fort Greene Garden to anyone planning to stay in New York. If you want a place that's not in the hub of Manhattan, but close enough to get there with just a taxi or subway ride away Fort Greene Garden is the place for you. You will not be disappointed! Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your amazing place! It was truly our home away from home!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We can only reiterate what has already been said about this lovely apartment. Stayed with my wife and teenage daughter and had great time, didn't meet the owner, but Alan upstairs was very friendly and available to help if needed. Subway 3 minutes walk, which gets you uptown to Rockerfeller in 20 minutes. Great local independent restaurants, very close by...Orleas, which does great tapas, literally 40 second stroll. Others to recommend were the smoke joint on Brooklyn Plaza (superb bbq brisket & sides), Chez Lolas on dekalb (varied choice) and even Mullane's Irish grill did excellent great value burgers and had a fine beer selection. In the unlikely event you run out of choice, hop on the G train, 2 stops and your on Smith St in Carroll Gardens, packed with even more bar's and restaurants. Many of the above will be at least a third cheaper than those similar in manhattan and a far more personal touch. To sum up..Do everything you need to do during the day across the water, but get away from the madness and come home to Fort Greene in the evening, a safe friendly neighbourhood...to which we shall return one day!Did you find this review helpful? We stayed for more than three weeks at Paul's immaculate Brooklyn brownstone with a one year old baby and have only rave reviews for the owners' flexibility, and the home's wonderful location and amenities. We arrived at the height of a NYC winter and found the space cozy and warm. Towels, blankets, pillows in good supply and a lovely kitchen area accommodated all our needs. Didn't really need a car as the subway takes you in any direction you please. The neighborhood has a good vibe- just steps from the Opera and BAM. Local eateries are plentiful. Just can imagine how lovely the patio would be in Spring. Many thanks!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

Actions speak louder than words, and our returning to this rental does just that. Repeat business is the surest way to know that what is offered is good quality and value. This well-furnished, comfortable and clean apartment is just as presented on-line. The front bedroom is a walk-through to the second bedroom and to the bathroom, which may be a minor inconvenience, but the back bedroom is totally private. There is a full kitchen if you want to cook or have a family, but with the many fine restaurants in the neighborhood, we mainly used it for coffee and breakfast. The neighborhood is great. The Fort Greene Farmers Market is just a few blocks away, and the Brooklyn Flea (where fun stuff and great food abounds) is one short block away in season. Subway access is close by as is bus service and much is walking distance away. Olea restaurant is just up the block if you like fresh oysters, and there are many other good restaurants in the neighborhood, with quality food and service at Brooklyn, not Manhattan prices! We enjoy many areas in Brooklyn, such as the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, the Brooklyn Bridge Park and the many historic neighborhoods, houses and parks. If you are a walker, walking the Brooklyn Bridge is a must. The access is a little tricky, so check it out before you start out! This apartment has easy subway access to the many sight-seeing attractions in Manhattan, yet gives you a private and comfortable place to come back to at night. Thank you, Paul for the excellent place to stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

What a great location! Loved being in the neighborhood and only a two and half block to the subway that took us directly into Manhatten. This apartment is attractive, exceptionally well maintained, very comfortable and well supplied. Everything we needed was available. Hosts provided great information on resources in the neighborhood and made us feel very welcome. Can’t wait to come back and experience a different season. We have already recommended this property to friends and will definitely do so again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We chose this unit as our son and daughter in law live 35 seconds away and we could not have made a better choice. The apartment is stunning and well kept. Paul was super busy heading into the holiday however we were greeted and tended to by Alan. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped, the garden was a pleasure. We felt completely safe with lock system that has been set up, but also want to add for those that are unfamiliar with Brooklyn and perhaps a bit nervous, don't be, this is a terrific neighborhood and the unit is spectacular.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

I had planned a tour of the United States for my Belgium cousins who were finally coming to the US. Our first tour was of New York City. Since my daughter lives near the Fort Greene area, I wanted a two bedroom place that was on the first floor. I didn't want to walk up two flights of narrow stairs with suitcases! The owners of this property go out of their way to make sure you have a great time. They even showed it to me when I was in the City earlier in the year. I wanted an affordable but decent place for the four of us so location was important too. This little gem is walking distance to great restaurants, within 15 min of the City by subway. They left us supplies like coffee (even creamer!) and some other stables for our stay. The apartment was immaculate, the beds comfortable. There were times we wanted to have a drink and smoke and the patio was great for that late at night. It is a very quiet neighborhood and you feel safe no matter what time you are walking around. The owner was gone and left us a contact who promptly came to give us the key a day early so that we could get settled in early on our start date as we were meeting cousins at JFK. Needless to say, my cousins thought the apartment was amazing and couldn't believe the price for a two bedroom in a great location! I loved walking down only two steps to get into the apartment and the security with the gate and key access made everything so easy to use. The pictures truly reflect this apartment--no photoshop here! I am a traveling nanny and experienced on finding great buys and traveling on a budget. I looked on several sites to find just the perfect place and while others had their good points, up against this apartment, they were lacking either location, too many steps or just "not as nice". I decided a few extra dollars for a great place was worth it and was not disappointed. There were 4 of us for one bathroom but that's pretty typical in NYC areas. The upgrades made everything extra nice including the bathroom. I had lots of questions in the beginning, hey, it's what I do for a living! and they were always prompt with replies and never made me feel like I was annoying for asking questions. Customer service which is important to me, was superb. Thanks for a great stay Fort Greene!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We very much enjoyed our stay in the apartment. It is clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The apartment also feels secure. The online pictures are a good representation of the space. The owner left us helpful information upon arrival and was kind enough to leave some coffee, cream and fruit to get us started. He is well-organized. The apartment is well-situated and has a convenience store and numerous restaurants nearby. It is only a 10-minute walk to the Atlantic subway station. I would definitely stay here again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This was my first time to stay at a VRBO, and what a delightful surprise it was! Paul was extremely helpful even before we arrived helping with directions, recommendations on restaurants/entertainment, and providing assistance for receiving packages, etc. When we arrived at the unit, we were impressed with the cleanliness of the apartment, the size of the apartment and the excellent location (just a few blocks from the Subway - you are in Manhattan in about 15 - 20 minutes tops; there are parks/playgrounds and anything you might need right around the corner)! The place was also very secure! We had everything provided that we could possibly need during our stay. The bedrooms and furnishings were in excellent condition and very comfortable. We had 5 people (my husband and I, my parents, and my 6 year old daughter). Everyone agreed that this was lovely and that we would like to stay there again should another NY opportunity present itself! Thanks Paul!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family of 4 stayed in this apartment for 1 week. It was an excellent find! Forte Greene is a great neighbourhood with nice shops and restaurants. Very close to the subway with easy access to Manhattan. The apartment is very spacious and comfortable. The space has been nicely renovated with attention to detail. Everything that you need is there! A well appointed kitchen, quality television, wifi, comfortable beds and a nice bathroom. We would not hesitate to recommend to friends that are travelling to New York, and would stay again on our next visit. Thanks for letting us stay in your excellent apartment.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children.
